Just got my 508 first edition, in stunning red, 2.0 diesel. The car is beautiful, my only issue is the rear view, its not much at all..however i have solved this with a dashcam/android mirror with back camera, now my rear view mirror boasts a stunning 1080p 160fov view of behind the car. Loved the review guys, helped push me into purchasing my new car.
The 508 is all the car you need in the UK. The GT is specced to the rafters. It is the used car bargain of the century as a 3 year old 508 in tip spec GT trim can be bought for £20k with low miles. Not many on the road either which is a big plus for me. Great review guys.
Agree totally, I would not pay £37.5 k for a new one but as you said you can have a 2019 reg with low miles for around half that price which is very reasonable. Similarly speced German car would probably cost you in the mid to high 20s.
I got around to watching your video, good job guys. It seems that Peugeot have remembered how to make cool cars again. I love the interior and the seats, and the 508 as quite an aggressive look in my opinion :) nice one!!
After saying, I haven’t been in a Peugeot for ages, I have just been picked up in a Peugeot 408 saloon. There seems to be a massive difference in quality, between the two cars. :) I think I have only driven one Peugeot in my life time (on the road) , my dad bought a cheap Peugeot 206, for me to run about in while i was in England. It was such a fun little car to drive.
The 508 in just two words? Rather stunning! The last time I had a Pug it was an RCZ which I loved so many things about except the horrible automatic gearbox that seemed to hamstring the sweet, smooth engine. It looks like the new EAT8 gearbox addresses that criticism and just might bring me back to Peugeot ownership again, although my personal choice would be the upcoming 508 SW even as good as the fastback looks. Kudos to Peugeot with this 508 - now how about a 2.0 liter version or better still a V6 option?
Aaron Randolph Chen yes there was something about the RCZ, great looks and fun to drive, this latest Auto has advanced somewhat . The SW we think will likely be the model of choice, for practicality, that would be some performance with those engines, thank you.
If they but a natural aspirated 3.0 v6 in it I will buy the sw at launch. But I'm going to try this one for sure. Anyone know why you can't have the 225hp engine with a manual gearbox? Thanks for the video. 👍
no heated windscreen no heated steering wheel night vision only available on first edition so not hugely specked i have a 19 plate GT my 2013 focus has heated screen nice in winter
Its a great car but i had some problems with my AC after one year...it has a leak and making a hissing sound...im going to fix it with the warranty...but still after one year im a bit worried
@@PlanetautoUK I know I can be a bit pedantic but my parents have the GT Line with 180 hp and it's not the same. This proper GT with 225 is quite a bit more powerful :-D
I'm 6.3, do you think the view of the cockpit is good? Because I'm reading and seeing from other review that the view is a bit covered by the wheel, and it needs to be lowered to let people that tall see it.
Splatters it depends on your position, I like to drive closer to the wheel as you can see, however if I had in a comfort position yes it would likely partially obstruct the display.
@@PlanetautoUK I could find a compromise if I decide to take this car next year. I'll wait to try it with a test drive when it'll be available to decide what to do. Thanks!
hey guys, thanks again for both wonderful 508 reviews! Now that you have driven both engines, what I am particular interested in: in case you have the option between the 180 PS 2l Diesel and the 180PS 1,6l Petrol engine - which one would you rather choose? Which one fits the 508 fastback better?
Planet Auto Oh I wish I could. Peugeot already quit offering the 225 because of its internal co2 emmission goals. Hence the 180 diesel and 180 petrol engines are the only top options left, even for the top GT model.
Planet Auto haha maybe you guys are luckier in the UK. In Central Europe however, the 225 party is over. Even the Hybrid is only eqipped with the 180 Diesel
The Volvo is dependable and safe, looks cool too if it’s anything like the V90, the 508 breaks the mould, and Merc yet to drive, the new A Class was very good for the short time we experienced it. The 508 has car paw massage 😆 Have you driven them all? ps thank you very much
Planetauto : I’ve only driven the 508 and I loved it. The Volvo looks so classy and is supremely comfortable. The CLA has a 1.5 Renault Diesel engine ( don’t think you have this engine option in the UK) which I’m a little wary of but I do love its coupe looks. I’m choosing from a company car list and have to keep it for 4 years so I need to be sure that I’m making the right choice 😋. I think the paw massage would put me to sleep which might be dangerous 😝.
The Volvo is the safe bet and rapid with the right engine - which trim? the 508 will always get us in the heart, Mercedes we prefer the older Daimler models, saying that the E Class Convertible is beautiful, try the others and see what you think, 4 years is a fair time, need to think with your head not your heart... 🐾 😆 keep us b posted
In the driving section of the video Ben says "Dynamic Chassis Control" he actually meant Dynamic Dampers.

They’re superb cars, they remain one of our favourites - now that’s a solution and a half Fitz, thank you for your kind words
Great stuff guys. Logically I dare to say since the 508 is a stellar offering.

It’s a lot of car for just under 20k Erickson, thank you
How do you know what people need in the UK?
So you fell in love with that car ! So did I ! Thank you for sharing this video with such passion !
Terry Shoemaker we did, and we’re not surprised you did, it is so well put together, thank you
I ordered mine already 😉but will have to wait till February 🤗

mattsbeamer what a coincidence, yes this car redefines Peugeot, the 206 is a fun car, we have a 206cc in the family it handles very well.
Planet Auto 206cc was much nicer than its replacement models and it is a bargain in my opinion. Plus it never seems to age :)
I think you made me fall in love with Peugeot again…. love the design of the rear!! I want one too!!
Thank you and amazing to hear, we did too, mind you it’s not hard with this outstanding machine, it really is that good and those beautiful lines.

Jesse Robertsvideos it’s an awesome bit of kit, thank you
Love the look of this car! I had the facelift 308 which I loved but this looks amazing well done Peugeot. Great review guys
This is a fantastic car and thank you, the new design language of Peugeot is very good.
The 508 is a muse. Dante is here no fear

We’d always opt for the 225bhp GT one saying that the diesel is refined and drives well it’s just not as quick.

Absolutely !! Especially cars like the 508
Hey guys... 508, Merc CLA or Volvo V60, all in diesel..... which would you choose?
Hmm we’ll have a think, first thought is 508 though.
