- To stop making mistakes, I worked on a technique that helps me break every corner into pieces. This tool that I have has really improved my ability to stop making mistakes and fix them a lot quicker.

A kart turns because the inside rear tire unweights. Applying throttle forces the inside tire back down ending the rotation. When you reference the "roll" of the corner, mechanically, you are letting the inside rear remain unweighted for an extra moment allowing the kart to finish the rotation. This is a subtle difference between cars and karts. Probably one of the most important tips you have given. Excellent break down.
Thank you!
Super cool videos, I’m glad the algorithm steered my to you. I crossed over to shifter karts for a minute from motorcycle racing yrs ago. Many yrs, lol. I’m talking Birel CR 832, with Paul Leary 40 Hp KX. To clarify.
It was a huge learning curve that ultimately made me feel like kart racing was fun but they didn’t really handle like I wanted or expected them to. My lack of experience and chassis set up knowledge just made it feel frustrating I couldn’t ever get it to turn like I thought it should. Seems like there are a lot of transferable thing from bikes to karts but some not so much.. Radius =MPH, smooth is fast, use of Neutral throttle. To name a few that come to mind. Tempted to get back into it but 40-50hp vs 400-500hp, suspension, pwr steering, roll cage, and a chassis that doesn’t require a wheel to lift to actually turn properly is more tempting and likely. I’d bet your on your way to cars. It will be cool to watch you progress.
I remember racing against M. Valiente and wanting to beat S.Speed and P. Head.
Past tense of Brake is Braked, Broke is a different word with different meanings. I've just had my first win of the year, a 6 hour Endurance in a twin engine kart, with a new to the class co driver. I did 2/3rds of the race and we won our class by 17 laps, in a class of 11 karts and fastest lap by almost a second.
Thank you I literally have no idea. Good job on your race!
Thank you so much… ❤
Love your passion not just for racing but also wanting to teach others what you have learned along the way… 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for the great info Champ 🏆
Good video again! Very helpfull
Fantastic video cheers
That’s a great news man! Good luck 💪❤️
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I would love to see DD2 or similar package make a comeback.
Thanks you
Hey I used to race karts over 20 years ago. An I love it . I really wish I could again. An my kids would to but it is very expensive here . I am going through a device an we lost my house in a storm. Had to buy a new home so the only way I can remember how much fun it was is watching videos on RUclips. I really truly miss it. So please keep the video going
Good move.
That’s awesome news! I was gonna ask you if you coached kids. We enjoy your videos so much and I would like more info on the academy for my 10 year old. 🎉🎉
Great, this is the best explaing karting video I've ever seen 😀
To you mean with roll, complete off the gas or a very little bit of gas to compensate the engine braking?
Always happy to help! When I say roll o mean no gas no brake
That trophy collection though.
Awesome stuff with the coaching and great content as always! Keep up the good work and hope to have you out to our tracks soon.
Thank you!
THANK U RYAN THANK YOUU
Rotax lives on!!! Man, I mess up everything lol Love watching your videos this is probably your best video yet. Can Fatguys like me join the academy? I may have to drive my rotax up there lol.
Yes it's open for all driver lol! Thanks for watching!
You should try to make your own race track that you think would be great for coaching i.e a lot of variety in the corners and braking zones. It can be called the Norberg-Ring
Sounds good to me!
Hi Ryan,
I’m a beginner of karting. I’m confused about the best way of braking. Some videos said that I should perform a ‘hard brake’ which means push the paddle to the position desired as fast as possible but release the paddle smoothly, while Carlos Sainz said his braking is smooth in the Netflix program Formula one: drive to survive. Could you please tell me the correct way of braking?
I would be appreciate if you could do me a favour.
BR,
Xueyu
Braking in f1 and karting is totally different. Hard on the brakes so you induce a little lockup is good in karting
@@TristanDeshaies Many thanks for your reply! Should I release the brake paddle smoothly?
@@xueyuwu-dd8ip yes, if you can slowly release as you are turning in thats even better (as he talks about in the video). Trailbreaking is what its called
I actually have a video on this topic that explains it thoroughly on my channel
@@NorbergNation Many thanks! I just watched that video. I have a question. Does the weight transfer by braking only available at KZ level karts, which have front brakes, or it also available at x30 or Rotax, which only has rear brakes?
Hi Ryan. I was wondering do you think rotax is a better expirence than x30 or not?
Very different engine packages. Hard to say
What did you told us is worked for quali day?or just for race?
Is never letting off the throttle when you brake bad? That's how I drive this far so i never miss my throttle on the exit but i heard it makes the engine run slower??
Is this gonna be an international academy? 😅
Of course!
@@NorbergNation haha, alright then.
@@NorbergNation how does that work though?
