@@ianmedford4855 I'd say it's the other way around. Claypool has more raw soul than Flea, but that's also one of the problems. Claypool has only ever done what Claypool wants to do, and never sold out by any imaginable definition of the phrase. Primus was weird, and stayed weird. Claypool never once fell into the trends of music of his era, but that also ends up making his music more niche than any of the other really well known bassists. for better or worse. not that there's anything wrong with the career of someone like Flea, because I think Flea is incredible too, but the extent to which Claypool is on another level from nearly every other living bassist is frankly almost beyond measure.
I saw Primus open up for Rush in North Carolina a long time ago and they did YYZ by permission Les Claypool said and they killed it!!!!!! Unbelievably talented 3 man band! Claypool makes playing the bass look effortless !
imma history buff and in the 30's they recorded old confederate soldiers doing the "rebel yell" they did in battle to scare the hell out of the enemy... sounds EXACTLY like claypool's "yeeeeeeee!" lmfao
Because of course, this was recorded with a premium quality microphone right beside the amplificator, wjhich was set a recording level. And the upload on RUclips did not affect the sound quality at all. Any other video will show you how good this bass sounds, man! :D And when you're Les Claypool, you can make any bass in any amp sound good!
Primus... The band with the 3 most underrated musicians on the planet... Also the bad that seems to want it exactly that way so they can do whatever the heck they want.
Went to Concordia 2002-2006, miss Montreal! At Metropolis I remember seeing James Brown, Dream Theater, Dredg, Blood Brothers, Dragonforce, Killswitch Engage, John Mayer, and Coheed & Cambria. All by choice. Likely went to FOUFS after. Is Club Soda still open?
Naw, leave it in. kinda gives the feeling of actually being there.....Oh wait, that's probably what you were trying to do! Unfortunately I missed them in Chicago on Sunday, so I'll settle for this!

When I meet someoneI give them the Primus test, if they can listen to Primus without being weirded out or annoyed or turned off by the sound, they are out.
nforcer43 in terms of technicality, Les blows the roof off of Lemmy’s playing abilities. But at the same time when it comes to star-power and hard rocking attitude Lemmy makes Les look like a street musician. If these two men were to have a bass battle the fucking sun would go out 😂
I like how The crowd Shouted"Taco Bell!"
Yo quiero Taco Bell?
Primus:
Tool but for the souther folk.
Exactly
More like Rush for the southern folk
Yeehaw Tool
It’s so southern... despite them being based in California. I love that about them.
N
The whole band is so talented.
Well you have to be to keep up with Les
Only at a Primus concert does stuff randomly fall from the sky and get tossed back up.
Yo wassup SWEG
like people? lol
Never thought I would see you here
SWEGTAAA SWEGTAAA🎶 I like your videos and bully haha
Phish shows are the same, lmao
only Primus could make a song about a beaver that eats Taco Bell and still have it be one of the most awesome songs out there
It´s about a different kind of beaver :D.

That's not what it's about. Like at all.

The porcupine thing is about her needing a shave down there.
Who wants to tell him?
Les would be the perfect Willy Wonka like damn
listen to Primus and the chocolate factory
@@chrisuminski6037 yeesssss, i love that album!!! Les is destined to play Willy Wonka at least once 😂
@@solsubridensSouth Park needs an episode of him as Willy Wonka
He's on the best to ever pick up a bass. Seen them 6 times. Larry is very underrated. He learned from Joe Satrioni who is a legend
It's not even close. He's a freak of nature.
But somehow, Flea is better to the ear. More soul traded for less raw technical ability.

Are you just saying the best in this "grunge" era or did you forget about Cliff Burton?
Primus fans get down harder than most attendees at Music Festivals. Guess I'm now a *Progressive Yee-Haw Head.*
the sound quality from that camera is outstanding
I can FEEL that energy when they hit the first few notes. Everyone just lights up!
Primus sucks !! I'd love to see them live
I saw them during this tour. One of the most amazing shows I have ever been to.
Les claypool is the greatest bass player that ever lived!!!!
He and cliff are the Bass gods
Probably.
iirc I think he was influenced by Geddy Lee
Yeah, he sucks! :D
John Entwhistle has entered the chat. There is no best, there is just those who are among the best, and Les is in that class.

Some of the best guitar riffs I've ever heard!!! Drummer is amazing too!
Primus is the only band that can make the live sound as good as the original
Rush
Not even remotely true. There are lots of bands that sound better live than on record.
You haven't been to many concerts, have you?
imma history buff and in the 30's they recorded old confederate soldiers doing the "rebel yell" they did in battle to scare the hell out of the enemy... sounds EXACTLY like claypool's "yeeeeeeee!" lmfao
now THIS is a Primus show. love the crowd singing. i love jay Lane. best drummer ever.
I dont care if you dont like their music, but you cant say these guys arent talented. They have more talent than most will ever see in their careerz
Nah primus sucks
Primus sucks
Primus sucks
Primus sucks
Primus Sucks
Srimus Pucks
Lol
2 !! 3 !!! 4 !!!! :-D
Lol
yuck fou
Hey, at least you didn’t comment the usual “Primus Sucks,” which is getting SUPER old...
No one else would do/could do this song any justice.
Les has aged gracefully.. and this shit was over 8 years ago. Good for him i say
The BASS GOD
2:22 Song starts.
The video and audio quality are impressive given the venue, etc. Good job!
Soooooooo fookin cool!!!! His bass riff's are the best man!
I always woke up wondering how I got home after a Primus show....
I wake up like that after most shows I go see. Think it's something to do with how loud it is in the venue and how quiet the walk home is.
Still cray cray AF‼️ 🤘🔥🎸🎵🎶
Les one of the few bass players in a band that puts the lead guitar to shame
Which is saying something as Larry is better than 99% of the guitarists out there
lol I like that he showed the whole venue first couple of minutes. Just saw them in Missoula, and it put me right back there. appreciate the vid
Quel show ! de loin le meilleur que j'ai vu de Primus, surtout avec une surprise comme celle là à fin du rappel
6:17 on try to headbang
2:46 some mad lad threw their pants
Wait, what the fuck.
I love this song

used the same one to record my travels across asia... very pleased with the results
primus is so amazing
It's just rock n' roll mom!!
I saw Frank Marino at Metropolis with Mahagony Rush and the sound at this venue is amazing, I'm sad that I've never seen Primus, maybe one day 🤗
Hot Damn!!! Thank You!
I need that camera!!!
Primus... The band with the 3 most underrated musicians on the planet... Also the bad that seems to want it exactly that way so they can do whatever the heck they want.
Awesome crowd
I saw them at the Metropolis in 2003. Tour de Fromage. Great venue.
As quarky as this song is, its one of their heaviest songs on Punchbowl's
Undisputed champs
How do we know for sure Larry isn't just making it up as he goes along? Nobody will ever know for sure
thanks bro!
nice way to start a show and nice parallel, the beaver is the national emblem of Canada!
Primus suce Tabarnak!
Turn ler's amp up!!!
I knew a Big Brown Beaver once..... back in the 70s.....
good video definition !! very good quality video
Its sad that many outlets just cast Primus outside the realm of best all time
man, that is the most stationary drummer ever
You should see Charlie Watts. I think the rolling stones roadies have to prod him occasionally mid set, just to make sure he's still alive.
Tim is fantastic.
need to hear this and laquer head and my life will b complete
@MontrealMetalShows Thks man
Damn, awesome camera! Haha that zoom tho!
Primus est super bien!
Song starts at 02:22 - you’re welcome
The real MVP, ladies and gentlemen, is Steve Latour.
This sounds just like primus
Yes
Awesome
GIFTED
Wicked Video! This show was amazing I drove from Niagara to Montreal for it SO worth it!
Me and 2 buddy's drove from NB for this
I like the way he screen shows Beaver and Atom Bombs.
awesome
essa banda é muito foda
Holy shit! That just kicked my ass!
Good video quality!
Yeee haw haw haw.
Wow.
God damn.. i hate that i never saw primus live.
Front row.. Cant ask for more.
Primus sucks ! God I love primus!
How can anyone take themselves seriously singing these lyrics at the concert
Why would anyone take themselves seriously at any concert? Lol
Because they are way better than you
They don't lol

yes
I thought Primus didn't play this song live anymore? Good to see they changed their minds!
This video is... 9 years old. The quality is suspiciously good for a vid this old 😳

Decades ago sumbody spray painted on a wall "CLAPTON IS GOD" Yup Eric Clapton is a guitar god. Les Claypool is the bass guitar god!!!
My Name Is Mud.
WHEN THE FUCK DID PRIMUS COME TO MONTREAL?! HOW DID I MISS THAT!?
And it gets tossed back at 2:54
starts at 2:20
When I meet someoneI give them the Primus test, if they can listen to Primus without being weirded out or annoyed or turned off by the sound, they are out.
The fucking camera does not show, when Les is doing his magik!>:(
I didn't think they played this song live any more. They went at least two tours with out playing it.
I was at this show, this was the encore. It was fucking amazing. They also opened with to defy the laws of tradition. Such an epic set
Tool/Rush, but for the southern folk
les you magnificent bastard lol
Beaver...porcupine, close enough.
Is that his son on guitar?
Well it's the thought that counts.
Les Claypool is to funk rock like Cliff Burton was to thrash metal !
Les gives Lemmy a run
