I think you are weighting these factors in a weird way, it's far easier to learn to slide more often than it is to learn to manage an offense.
As a person who as played damn near every position in my life included QB. I 98% agree with you. The 2% is for players like Jayden. Where it has nothing to do with learning how to slide. It’s his lack awareness in general when he’s running. He’s tunnel vision AF. And it’s appears to me when he runs he thinks he getting boogie more so then what he actually is. In all my life of playing football I’ve never seen a kid get coached out of that kind of lack of awareness of yourself. Never seen it. Like sliding has nothing to do with this man jumping at his line of scrimmage on 1st and 10 just to get bodied slammed by a line backer🤣 i know you know the play I’m talking bout too. Its 1st and 10 bruh what would be the reason your jumping that high off the ground at the line of damn scrimmage or then the fact that your tunnel vision like crazy. Like bro i like his talent a lot. But if he can’t break out of some of that tunnel vision he won’t last when bigger ppl are hitting him. Like he’s the first player I’ve seen have a highlight tape of getting hit stick. Like bro literally there’s no other player in history since highlights were made that has that. And it’s literally all hit sticks and him getting picked up by D tackles 😭😭
Drake can manage an offense & he’s proven that. Put Jayden on the UNC team & you’d be saying the same shit about him. He also has like 2 years of starting on him. Nobody thought Jayden was shit his first few years of starting

Of these 3, the most important aspect in the NFL is running an offense. Everyone in the NFL has elite physical talent. What separates players is what's between the ears. Jayden is better mentally right now. Unless he gets injured, he'll be the better QB
Jayden has played 3 more seasons than Maye and out of the 5 seasons he's played he only played elite in ONE of them.

@ChristopherBingham-xx8xl Yes it was but Jayden had TWO elite wide receivers also and the same coaching staff. This should be very interesting in the next few seasons. The Commanders wideouts are quite overrated so Jayden will have to do a lot more than he did at LSU...stay tuned.
@@Jakery1057 If you watch the film, you'd see that it was Jayden who really made that offense go. Yes, the receivers were elite, but someone had to throw the ball to them. The commanders have Scary Terry (top 10 wideout), Jahan Dotson (7 TDs his rookie year despite missing 4 games that year), Luke McCaffrey (the brother of the reigning offensive player of the year), Austin Ekeler (a running back who is an elite pass catcher), Brian Robinson Jr. (another running back who can catch passes), Ben Sinnott (one of the best receiving tight ends in the draft) and Zach Ertz (3-time Pro Bowler). Daniels will not have a shortage of weapons to work with
@@ChristopherBingham-xx8xl the commanders have no concept of an offensive line while lsu have two first round caliber tackles which one is going in the top 10 next year. And, somehow , jayden still had some of the worst pressure to sack ratio in college football because he hoods the ball for too long
I think one thing your chart totally misses out on is accuracy / form. Yes, Drake Maye has the stronger arm and higher arm talent potential, but his accuracy and consistency and form are just not even close to as good as Daniels'. That's why Daniels ended up being a signficiantly better deep ball passer, and also why Maye ended up missing a lot of wide open throws that you can't afford to miss in the NFL. As a result, if I were using the exact same chart, I'd actually place JD as the better "arm talent," or rather "passer," for now, with Maye having the higher potential AND lower floor (because, afterall, what if he never figures out his form and accuracy issues? Many QBs never do, and some do: it's a dice roll).
You forgetting the fact Daniel’s had two first rd receivers so it made up for a lot of bad throws Daniel’s made. It took him 5 years to be this good Maye was good in 2 with way less talent no wr drafted before the 3rd rd 🤷🏾♂️
Maye is light years ahead of daniels when he was 21... lightyears.

@MrExoticDemon jayden had one good year and took him 4 years and transferring to a stacked team to manufacture it. Drake looked like a top 5 draft pick out the gates on a mediocre to bad team. Drake on LSU last year would have outshines jayden.

Processing should be at the top of your list. Maye might develope into the more elite player, but I wouldn't bet on that based on where he landed. The cubbards in New England are bare. While Daniels is already an advanced processor. He was smart to focus on that part of his development before becoming a pro.

Unless JD gets hurt, that seems unlikely. The patriots offense is in shambles, and DM has a LOT of issues he needs to fix before he can be consistent, accurate, and mentally quick enough to really compete with JD. Soonest he might be competitive would likely be after 3 or 4 years imo (this is accounting for needing the team to rebuild their offense, and needing to fix his throwing form, and needing to improve decision making, and needing to improve his presnap reads, and needing to improve his pacing at getting through progressions... it's a lot to learn and not everyone manages to get there... and we're counting on the pats' coaching staff to teach him that). Not saying it's impossible for him to better after a year or two, just unlikely. Also not sure he actually ever will be better if the Pats continue the way they have in recent years. It sucks, but the team these prospects end up with play a large part in their development.
I would say Jaden Daniel’s more pro ready but Drake maye has more upside

If I’m trying to win soon, JD is the pick. Drake is the pick long term- would you rather 2 years developing at ASU or at an NFL level.
Maye is better right now. This is a crazy oversimplification of the necessary criteria of being a successful QB. There's also nothing concrete that indicates Daniels can run an offense better.
Daniels' 3rd receiving option was better than Maye's 1st.
Experts don't agree with you. There is no way Maye is better right now.

Receiving options have nothing to do with footwork, accuracy, going through progressions, reading defenses, etc. and Daniels is better at all of that. And he was the driving force behind that offense. He helped make those receivers looks as good as they did. They didn't make him great. If anything, he made them great

Not sure I agree with a lot of this. There’s a lot X factors & intangibles everyone seems to be a kind of coin toss between these 2. But I never hear the fact Daniels was a 5 year guy Maye was 3. That’s 2 years older, and it’s 2 more years of experience as well as 2 years closer to being “old”. But also, Daniels playing w/ NFL all around him w/ freak WR’s. Maye had a god awful line, avg WR’s who couldn’t consistently get separation and mastered drops. Drake was constantly under enormous pressure. Did he fold? No he still killed despite 2 years younger & everything else. As far as the running you Maye slides Daniels doesn’t. Maye rarely ever slid. He goes full bore unless it’s absolutely senseless, especially if a play has to be made. And part of Mayes “sometimes” inaccurate balls which don’t happen even close to enough to be a problem. He again, was under so much pressure that setting feet properly was a luxury he was rarely afforded. There’s a reason some have said he’s generational. He’s absurdly good. Also he only played 2 years. 2 years, 2 OC’s 2 different systems. Basically the guy had a lot working against him but still killed it. Ceiling is higher.

Jahan Dotson and Terry Mclaurin are going to struggle this year. The precision from the QB will be poor. They will need larger receivers.

Washington Commanders camp is going to get really quiet and weird this summer. After a few weeks they are going to witness the lack of arm talent and struggles throwing from an NFL pocket. They will enter the season in panic mode.
Lack what arm talent Daniels literally threw for 40 touchdowns and 4 interceptions with a completion percentage of 72% he barely threw turnovers. He also has the deep ball accuracy in the draft and on 20+ yards thrown had 22 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Daniels also had highest passer rating not only in 2023 but the highest passer rating of all time.
I think yall really overrate arm talent, most top QBs don’t have elite arm talent and most QBs that do have it, but have mechanical issues don’t workout (Fields, Wilson, etc.) Allen and Mahomes makes everyone think that they can take someone with only arm talent and develop them into a good QB, but they are anomalies.
It doesn't look like Daniels can throw anything other than a deep ball. I'll take maye all day

Nah but in all seriousness, why do you think that? JD was 5th year senior, is 2 or 3 years older, 2 years more experience, 2 closer to his prime, 2 closer to his retirement. JD had an elite offense w/ phenomenal weapons. Drake had 2 years, 2 OC’s, 2 different systems, god awful Oline, and pretty good but crazy inconsistent receivers who mastered the drops & couldn’t create separation. All the while being under enormous constant pressure because no one could block. Yet still put up stupid #’s and was 3rd overall despite it. And when you say QB my very thought is “passing” and when it comes to arm talent & being pin point while also doing it running for you life & not being able to set feet is outstanding on Mayes part. His potential is thru the roof. Too bad he went to a completely gutted Offense

Drake will be better because he will last longer
If Daniels went to a different team and had some time to wait I think they’d be closer, but being a mobile qb going to Washington right after Howell was getting destroyed in the backfield is a recipe for injury. Especially if Daniels doesn’t learn to avoid big hits. I think Maye will be better if they give him time to develop like they did with Josh Allen. The Pats are a worse team right now, but Maye is also used to having poor talent around him, so I don’t think it’s going to come as a shock. If Daniels wasn’t going to Washington I think it’d be a toss up, but with the current teams I think Maye will emerge as the better qb, if not this season, within the next 2-3.
Howell was taking hits partly because he was holding onto the ball for too long. He couldn't make decisions quickly enough and he didn't know where his hot routes were. Another reason was that Bieniemy was not running the ball for some reason. Just getting rid of those 2 men will do a lot more good for the offensive line than you realize. Besides, they upgraded the offensive line in free agency.
Are the Pats really a worse team? They got Gonzo & Baker. Funny how the Jets get the Garrett & Gardner so yall hype it up, the Jets? lol any way, Pats also have Polk, Henry, Douglas, Bourne shiiiit Drake might be getting spoiled like Tua with a globetrotting WR team
@@CoryD_85 If you look at separation of receivers last season Pats were pretty much on par with the Panthers as the worst in the league. Maybe Polk and Baker can help them out there or if Juju still has any juice in the tank. I think Jets are just slightly better cause Wilson is a stud, but after him they’re not too far apart.
@@ChristopherBingham-xx8xl I agree for some of em, but rookie qbs always take more sacks as they get used to the speed of the game. Some of them were certainly on Howell, but some will be on Daniels this year too, that’s just how rookie qbs go. I just don’t trust the Oline to protect Daniels very well and after last season they don’t give me much hope.
@clintpreslar452 Wilson is overhyped hasn't done anything and he is just one guy, Bourne and Douglas don't have issues with separation they were out with injuries, that was last Year with Parker & Juju and Mac he's gone now alot of new players, no one but you is saying this a worse team cause of separation. NE now has all younger athletic WRs that can play all over the field x, y, slot. New athletic QB, new coaches, we excited over here lol and can't wait. I'm just saying bruh

Also, you fail to mention that JD has played 3 more years as a starter at the FBS level vs Drake's 2. How can you say JD has a higher ceiling running an offense when that's the case? Again, makes no sense.
