Looks like Daler-Rowney have stitched Scrawlr right up. I guess the only way you could save that is to squeeze it all out into another container before any of the binder spaffs out all over your page and mix it, but that would be a ballache and hard to store :D Love the mushrooms, Inktense pencils sure do allow for some vivid colours!
hehehe it does get sticky when it spurts all over the place like that Zoe. Gave me a giggle though and you did make a beautiful piece of art and I love it and it really works with the vibrant colours. Have you ever tried activating the inktense with gouache instead of water? you can get nice kind of pastel versions of the colours, quite fun to try if you haven't already :)
Honestly I couldn’t stop thinking about what it looked like and how gross that was! Bleugh!!! No I haven’t tried that with the 2 together it sounds like a great idea! Will be giving that a go!!
Love the mushrooms. Yep medium grain paper for pencils. I use hot press for inking and a lovely wash. Really like your mushrooms they look bright and cherry. Have a lovely week and hopefully the beep (couldn’t hear) gets fixed for you.
Daler Rowney quality control is beyond pants at this point. I had something similar with some very expensive 'paint pens' that shot their load all over my artwork.
I just mushed and stirred my gouche with the end of a paintbrush as inspired by you! It's definitely separated isn't it....I think I've got it to a point it'll work more like gouache ready for when I play though so thanks 😁
@@zoehartisthullo Zoe, I have tried to make my own watercolor paints and I purchased way to much Gum Arabic. I still have a lot left over. I have found a use for it, I have extended my less than reputable paints by adding more binder (gum arabic) I am not telling you to go buy a huge jar, but they sell gum arabic in little jars and you might find it useful in the future for the paints that are shipped from overseas and the first time you squeeze your paint you get that goo instead of paint! That is usually binder and you can rescue the paint and not waste it down the drain. I have no idea if saving the gouache from Daler Rowney is worth it, but if you want to, please let us know how it goes!
Hullo Zoe, I thought your mushrooms were lovely and I thought your recovery from the bad gouache exemplary. I did comment on another reply already about buying some gum Arabic and rescue the gouache but I’m sure you know all that anyway, right? Right. If not read the reply. Thank you for sharing your ’shrooms with us!
I did think about getting some gum Arabic to mix in but then I just figured I was spending money when I didn’t need to as I have quite a lot of other brands of gouache laying around! But it’s definitely an option!
@@zoehartist yeah, since I have almost completely stopped buying cheaper paints I have had so few binder troubles, I still have plenty of binder that I have yet to use! If you do buy some get a smaller bottle or jar 32oz is to much, unless your going to be making a lot of paint in bulk!
I love the art so much i almost gouached. use them more!
💀 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 can’t breathe🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@zoehartist you only have yourself to blame
Yes I suppose I do 🤣🤣

One likes a spaffy gouache! Maybe I should get it out the bin and squirt it all into another pot!

Brilliant mushrooms Zoe ❤
Thank you Jean! ❤️

I’ve never really rated them to be honest anyway. They’re not a company I gravitate to usually.
you smashed this, stayed till the end ☺☺
Thank you!
Cute mushrooms 🍄. Thanks for the gouache warning, my box comes a week later 😊.
Yeah be careful with it!!! Messy!!
Really nice. I haven’t even touched mine yet 😊
You should!

Yeah it’s not right! I’ve lost way too much binder from mine to bother with it!
It'll be like tippex in the bottom 😂
It was a little bit… although too thick
To use 🤣
