@@fillymcwinkenbob4234 and the child barely shows up after that and every time they do it's always just completely random things that don't make sense, like when they meet map bot and they just teleport to the raceway before map bot even says anything, or the cameras at the entrance turning off randomly and when they come back you swear you saw the kid's foot phasing through the wall next to those benches, and you know it wasn't midnight a second ago but all the clocks say it now, and after a while despite none of the clocks changing from midnight and the moon not moving an inch the time randomly snaps to sunrise and you see the kid and freddy running out of the building, and after staring at the camera for a few more seconds you just decide you're not paid enough for this and leave.

But then some people were apparently unlucky when playing cyberpunk because their computer would literally just shut down at random, so i guess Security Breach wins in the "doesnt mess with your PC" department
But if they do we will be missing out on incredible videos. Besides the main charm of sb is how broken it is because besides that it is empty. There is the lore but that's for matpat to work out. Also hopefully the same glitches won't exist in ruin because they should have learnt. Although it would be hilarious if they all suddenly worked again.
@@robert.7230 As someone who's more interested in the lore than anything else, SB kinda sucks. Even the visual and audio design leaves a lot to be desired. All the bugs and ridiculous runs and of course, Spiff abusing said bugs for ridiculous runs is all it really has going for it :( But hey, the bugs and glitches and Spiff runs are absolutely delightful to watch! :D
I mean, it's that really so strange? In order to fix a bug you must first understand the bug. Just knowing there is a bug doesn't instantly give you the ability to fix it. So the stranger a big, the harder it is to find the exact cause so you know what you need to do to fix it. Trying stuff in code willy nilly will more often than not just break it further.
This has a weird vibe to it. No music. No animatronics. Just ambient running noises and doors. A side of the game that no one was ever meant to see. Its fascinating

SteelWool might have added invisible walls here and there but that doesn't make the code any less spaghetti. It's still as ridiculous and absurd as it was on release day. This game is like a circus that never ends and i love it!

Bad game design is when you have to place invisible walls everywhere because you were too incompetent to come up with a good reason you couldn’t get to the other side when literally there is a small barrier you can climb over
And it’ll probably remain that way forever. They fucked up the coding, and when you fuck up the coding, there is no going back often times, especially if its old and/or important. If you try to fix it, then the game will have even more wacky things from all the code interacting with the changed code now producing something different as a result. If you fix it those codes, then everything that in turn interacts with that code will likely be broken, etc etc.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Spiff really knows how to breach this security like no one else. Him and his team of discord users might be the best security breachers of our decade.

Only in security breach can things like this happen lmao. "If theres a will, theres a way" applies wonderfully to this game. If they want out of freddy's room without picking up items, they will get out of freddy's room without picking up items. If they want vanny ending in 5 minutes, skipping the entire game, they will find a wall with no collision and clip into the void to do just that. And if they want to do jump/sprintless, then they'll jump through time and space, fight off the glitched tva and giga monty, and run for their lives from mini music man to do that, and noone can stop them because the base game is just so perfectly broken.
Steel Wool needs to capitalize on this. Since making functional non-VR games doesn't seem to be their strong suit, they could just make the point of the game that you have to break reality.

Do you wanna be a reality breaker running through walls? Sure, go ahead! There will never be another SB im sure and its purely because I don't think even the devs themselves know why the game breaks the way it does. I certainly wouldn't, even if i knew how to code.
My theory with mapbot is that Steel Wool had a recurring issue where a script interupting Gregory performing an action would softlock the game. Maybe it didn't place you back in the right spot, maybe it didn't place you back at all, but it didn't work, and it was because the game didn't know where you were. Steel Wool's solution was to set that point to your last hiding spot since you would most commonly be interrupted when entering/leaving a hiding spot. When the same bug was reported with Mapbot, Steel Wool copy-pasted the same script they used in the other instances without thinking.
I feel like there was a bug in earlier versions where you could be both in and out of a hiding spot, pressing e would continue to put you back in. I think it was caused by an interruption of the hiding animation. They totally just copy pasted it
@@3clipse449That happened when you got jumpscared while exiting a hiding spot The game puts you back in the hiding spot but it expects you to be out so when pressing e to go out the game think you're trying to go in so it keeps putting you in
@@justjem9119 Jumping literally breaks the game lol. From the out of bounds stuff on day one, to the invulnerability from the animatronics if you get on a ledge
@@justjem9119 a lot of the glitches are caused by jumping or falling in some way. The animatronics aren’t programmed to see you when you’ve jumped onto something. Jumping while entering Freddy reloads the game. All of the uses were added late in development (the endo vent was made late in development as was the endo room) and the poem in the SL room talks about all the movement you can do without mentioning jumping. Also with the amount of things that have super low collision line they were just meant to stop you from running through them.
I know this game is broken but every one of these videos I still manage to be astounded. The hiding spot map bot teleportation and getting the final cutscene after pressing three buttons in a row when everything was frozen took me aback. What a game.
@@trickygamer555 I like you saying tower defense games are sturdy and my mind immediately goes to BTD6 bugs where there was bugs to get infinite money, infinite paragons/heros instead of just 1, and stacking buffs that shouldn't stack. I do actually agree with you though that tower defenses can be pretty sturdy, especially ones with fixed placement locations for towers.
26:02 honestly seeing freddy run past as clean as he was from the start looked MUCH cooler than how he looks when you normally get him here. i will never understand why the gradual dirty-ness thing existed
I have to assume there was some plan to have Freddy turn on you by the end, especially with things like Chica's voicebox making him sound significantly more threatening... for exactly one voiceline before they chicken out (heh) and make him use the normal voice for the rest of the game. Him becoming dirty and decrepit while also becoming a lot stronger from the upgrades you ripped out of his friends (which he *does* express concern about), leads me to believe they wanted him to become a scarier figure over time.
Yeah it really doesn't make any sense why the animatronics degrade over time (except when you decomission them, that's fine) and I've never liked it. They're running around a clean building, which they do every night. Do they fix the animatronics every day or something? It's dumb imo
It’s probably because they aren’t used to being out so much at night when no mechanics and cleaners are around, after all, if it takes a few days for the maintenance to finish up every time it opens for a day, then the animatronics must not be easy to keep clean. Double difficulty for Chica and Freddy, Chica for the food thing she has and Freddy because he’s the main star, of course kids are going to be climbing over him or on him. Also as an added bonus, they have a few lines that did suggest Freddy was going to be a villain near the end. They just aren’t used but maybe they can use them in the new DLC, Tetrabit shows them off in one of his few videos covering SB.
i mean, freddy makes sense. You walk with him almost everywhere and in the utility tunnels which are probably not very clean. Chica, maybe? There's the kitchen and food thing but those need to be cleaned and stuff, but yeah a trash compactor probably not clean. but yeah Roxy and monty make no sense
It's honestly dope and amazing that this game and the community surrounding it became this new entity separate from the actual game itself, and one that is SO MUCH better than the game itself. This game has become a cult classic in a way and it has absolutely nothing to do with what the devs intended. It would've been considered a major failure otherwise, just a buggy mess of a game. But it's transcended that and that's what saved this game's reputation, ironically. It's a beautiful mess of a game, truly. And we love it.
In all of these videos, I just imagine Gregory doing whatever (clipping through walls, falling into the void, etc) and Freddy is just staring at him like "Dude, wth?"
For as much as I love the new games content, these Security Breach videos will always hold a place in my heart. Honestly, content like this are the best things to come from the game!
I'm only 18 minutes in but this emulates the same chaotic, unsettling, and unknown feeling as navigating the void on your bike back in Pokemon Diamond/Platinum/Pearl so you can get event pokemon without doing the event

I'm actually kinda torn about the game having it's glitches fixed. On one hand, it means the game is more pollished and some of the bad stuff is gone! On the other hand, many of theese glitches could have fun uses and could, with creative use, allow to skip some of the boring stuff since the game by itself is quite a boring experience. It's like if Sonic Team came back to Sonic 06 and, along with load times and certain bullshit bugs, fixed stuff like the Silver ball puzzle skip or the infamous funny flying metal box.
Yeah it's an unfortunate truth that SB is just not really an exciting or fun game if you play it normally. The glitches are ironically what gives the game its identity to me.
Unless they added some new, fantastic content, yeah it would be pretty boring. And that's where SB is at. Have you seen P-06? It's a fan recreation of 06 and its amazing. They've added unused lines, new gameplay, and best of all, the loading times are like 5 seconds max

If i had to take a completely random guess as to how the mapbot glitch works, i would assume that Gregory's position is saved when entering a hiding spot or when getting grabbed by something, like a security bot or mapbot. Once you exit a hiding spot or a grab, the game checks to see where gregory was standing before it happened. Notice when leaving a hiding spot it always puts you back exactly where you entered it, or where you were standing before getting caught by something. So by entering the stroller, you set Gregory's "return" or "exit" position, then you enter freddy, since freddy is programmed to drop Gregory in front of him, the game doesn't overide gregory's return position, since instead it just calculates a certain distance in front of freddy and places gregory there. Normally, your position would be set when mapbot grabs you, but since you're getting grabbed while exiting Freddy, and not after, Gregory doesn't have a position to save, and so your original position from the stroller doesn't get overwritten and you get placed there once mapbot let's you go. This is why exiting is important, because I think the game checks for Freddy's position instead and puts Gregory there if within Freddy, but since you're leaving Freddy but Gregory's position hasn't been set yet, the game thinks you're outside Freddy and uses Gregory's position, which doesn't exists since you're still in the exit animation, thus leaving the original stroller hiding spot position intact. If I had to take a wild guess as to why the mapbot jumpscare happens even though "Gregory" hasn't been placed yet, I think it's because it's scripted to play when the *Players* position is within an area, which is different from Gregory. While usually the players position uses Gregory's, since you can enter Freddy, the players position wouldn't be Gregory's anymore but Freddy's instead. Or when using Pizza Bot. The game is programmed to consider the player, Freddy and Gregory seperate things. And for some reason, while they usually use Gregory's position to determine when the player is supposed to get caught by animatronics, they instead used the players position for mapbot. Maybe because it was simpler then checking for Freddy or Gregory and determining which to use? Or maybe there wasn't any reason and someone just decided to use the player position because it would normally do the same thing. Dunno if any of this is true, but it's my best guess. As far as I can tell, that's what's happening. If I'm correct normally you can't get grabbed when exiting Freddy, only after, but mapbot is an exception since his jumpscare is a scripted trigger. I haven't watched the full vod so I don't know if maybe you're doing anything between mapbot and Roxy raceway that would disprove this random theory but for now it's my best guess.
Another thing to note is jumping into Freddy, getting jumoscared by mapbot and falling into hiding spots all deload the game, so maybe combining all these things makes the game freak out a little and that could be contributing to the glitch
Super interesting that this run is possible if you played the broken version. I guess I never thought of the saves from the old broken version and the new competent version meshing at all.

Watching this reminded me of one of those old NES glitches. Where you had to do weird crap like talk to a certain character a certain number of times and the walk into a wall at a certain angle and then magically beat the game because you did some weird crap with the memory or something.

I love how perfectly timed it is when he clips out of freddy's room at the start and at the exact moment he goes through the wall the sub alert comes up with the "fuck you that's why."
In Borderlands games, there's a glitch you can do where binding the interact button to a freescroll scrollwheel can cause innumerable amounts of that trigger to overlap each other, like interacting with an NPC that gives a rare gun (he gives multiple guns in one animation), or activating the boost in a vehicle (yeets the vehicle into the air). I wonder if anything similar can happen in Security Breach?
The voice crack at 7:45 had me dying! I got lucky in that I never had the voice crack period of puberty and now I'm 20 and I don't think I sound all that much deeper than when I was still 12 or 13
Of the many FNAF games, my favorites are ones like Pizzeria Simulator & Security Breach. The ones where its monitoring cams so robots don't get you just turn into games of reflexes & jumpscares, which, IMHO, seems boring. This was a fun run & analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
The "base" of SB was NOT "come up with" in 2015. FNaF was still in it's infancy in 2015, there's no way Scott, on his own, was planning 7 years in advance for a AAA title freeroam game

My theory with mapbot is that Steel Wool had a recurring issue where a script interupting Gregory performing an action would softlock the game. Maybe it didn't place you back in the right spot, maybe it didn't place you back at all, but it didn't work, and it was because the game didn't know where you were. Steel Wool's solution was to set that point to your last hiding spot since you would most commonly be interrupted when entering/leaving a hiding spot. When the same bug was reported with Mapbot, Steel Wool copy-pasted the same script they used in the other instances without thinking.
I feel like there was a bug in earlier versions where you could be both in and out of a hiding spot, pressing e would continue to put you back in. I think it was caused by an interruption of the hiding animation. They totally just copy pasted it

The game puts you back in the hiding spot but it expects you to be out so when pressing e to go out the game think you're trying to go in so it keeps putting you in

@@justjem9119 a lot of the glitches are caused by jumping or falling in some way. The animatronics aren’t programmed to see you when you’ve jumped onto something. Jumping while entering Freddy reloads the game. All of the uses were added late in development (the endo vent was made late in development as was the endo room) and the poem in the SL room talks about all the movement you can do without mentioning jumping. Also with the amount of things that have super low collision line they were just meant to stop you from running through them.
I know this game is broken but every one of these videos I still manage to be astounded. The hiding spot map bot teleportation and getting the final cutscene after pressing three buttons in a row when everything was frozen took me aback. What a game.

I have to assume there was some plan to have Freddy turn on you by the end, especially with things like Chica's voicebox making him sound significantly more threatening... for exactly one voiceline before they chicken out (heh) and make him use the normal voice for the rest of the game.
Him becoming dirty and decrepit while also becoming a lot stronger from the upgrades you ripped out of his friends (which he *does* express concern about), leads me to believe they wanted him to become a scarier figure over time.
Yeah it really doesn't make any sense why the animatronics degrade over time (except when you decomission them, that's fine) and I've never liked it. They're running around a clean building, which they do every night. Do they fix the animatronics every day or something? It's dumb imo
I guess it is related to afton corrupting the animatronics, but it still feels weird.
It’s probably because they aren’t used to being out so much at night when no mechanics and cleaners are around, after all, if it takes a few days for the maintenance to finish up every time it opens for a day, then the animatronics must not be easy to keep clean. Double difficulty for Chica and Freddy, Chica for the food thing she has and Freddy because he’s the main star, of course kids are going to be climbing over him or on him.
Also as an added bonus, they have a few lines that did suggest Freddy was going to be a villain near the end. They just aren’t used but maybe they can use them in the new DLC, Tetrabit shows them off in one of his few videos covering SB.
i mean, freddy makes sense. You walk with him almost everywhere and in the utility tunnels which are probably not very clean.
Chica, maybe? There's the kitchen and food thing but those need to be cleaned and stuff, but yeah a trash compactor probably not clean.

It's honestly dope and amazing that this game and the community surrounding it became this new entity separate from the actual game itself, and one that is SO MUCH better than the game itself. This game has become a cult classic in a way and it has absolutely nothing to do with what the devs intended. It would've been considered a major failure otherwise, just a buggy mess of a game. But it's transcended that and that's what saved this game's reputation, ironically. It's a beautiful mess of a game, truly. And we love it.

I'm only 18 minutes in but this emulates the same chaotic, unsettling, and unknown feeling as navigating the void on your bike back in Pokemon Diamond/Platinum/Pearl so you can get event pokemon without doing the event

I love how when spiff jumps on the ball, sometimes it does a little weird spin, almost like a kick flip
I'm actually kinda torn about the game having it's glitches fixed.
On one hand, it means the game is more pollished and some of the bad stuff is gone!
On the other hand, many of theese glitches could have fun uses and could, with creative use, allow to skip some of the boring stuff since the game by itself is quite a boring experience.
It's like if Sonic Team came back to Sonic 06 and, along with load times and certain bullshit bugs, fixed stuff like the Silver ball puzzle skip or the infamous funny flying metal box.
Yeah it's an unfortunate truth that SB is just not really an exciting or fun game if you play it normally. The glitches are ironically what gives the game its identity to me.
Unless they added some new, fantastic content, yeah it would be pretty boring. And that's where SB is at.
Have you seen P-06? It's a fan recreation of 06 and its amazing. They've added unused lines, new gameplay, and best of all, the loading times are like 5 seconds max

If i had to take a completely random guess as to how the mapbot glitch works, i would assume that Gregory's position is saved when entering a hiding spot or when getting grabbed by something, like a security bot or mapbot.
Once you exit a hiding spot or a grab, the game checks to see where gregory was standing before it happened. Notice when leaving a hiding spot it always puts you back exactly where you entered it, or where you were standing before getting caught by something.
So by entering the stroller, you set Gregory's "return" or "exit" position, then you enter freddy, since freddy is programmed to drop Gregory in front of him, the game doesn't overide gregory's return position, since instead it just calculates a certain distance in front of freddy and places gregory there.
Normally, your position would be set when mapbot grabs you, but since you're getting grabbed while exiting Freddy, and not after, Gregory doesn't have a position to save, and so your original position from the stroller doesn't get overwritten and you get placed there once mapbot let's you go. This is why exiting is important, because I think the game checks for Freddy's position instead and puts Gregory there if within Freddy, but since you're leaving Freddy but Gregory's position hasn't been set yet, the game thinks you're outside Freddy and uses Gregory's position, which doesn't exists since you're still in the exit animation, thus leaving the original stroller hiding spot position intact.
If I had to take a wild guess as to why the mapbot jumpscare happens even though "Gregory" hasn't been placed yet, I think it's because it's scripted to play when the *Players* position is within an area, which is different from Gregory. While usually the players position uses Gregory's, since you can enter Freddy, the players position wouldn't be Gregory's anymore but Freddy's instead. Or when using Pizza Bot. The game is programmed to consider the player, Freddy and Gregory seperate things. And for some reason, while they usually use Gregory's position to determine when the player is supposed to get caught by animatronics, they instead used the players position for mapbot. Maybe because it was simpler then checking for Freddy or Gregory and determining which to use? Or maybe there wasn't any reason and someone just decided to use the player position because it would normally do the same thing.
Dunno if any of this is true, but it's my best guess. As far as I can tell, that's what's happening. If I'm correct normally you can't get grabbed when exiting Freddy, only after, but mapbot is an exception since his jumpscare is a scripted trigger. I haven't watched the full vod so I don't know if maybe you're doing anything between mapbot and Roxy raceway that would disprove this random theory but for now it's my best guess.
Another thing to note is jumping into Freddy, getting jumoscared by mapbot and falling into hiding spots all deload the game, so maybe combining all these things makes the game freak out a little and that could be contributing to the glitch

I find it funny that anytime you go down to Afton's lair Freddy starts running towards the pizzeria. That was probably something left in from the unfinished version of SB where he's already waiting at the wood planks.

NEW SPIFF LORE! That orange fazball was the first ever spiffball. When it fell into the void due to being used to clip through walls it split into millions of tiny spiffballs which, in the spiffverse (spiff's universe), are being used as currency (and a type of drug) to this day.

Where you had to do weird crap like talk to a certain character a certain number of times and the walk into a wall at a certain angle and then magically beat the game because you did some weird crap with the memory or something.

In Borderlands games, there's a glitch you can do where binding the interact button to a freescroll scrollwheel can cause innumerable amounts of that trigger to overlap each other, like interacting with an NPC that gives a rare gun (he gives multiple guns in one animation), or activating the boost in a vehicle (yeets the vehicle into the air).
I wonder if anything similar can happen in Security Breach?

The "base" of SB was NOT "come up with" in 2015. FNaF was still in it's infancy in 2015, there's no way Scott, on his own, was planning 7 years in advance for a AAA title freeroam game
If I had to guess, by “base” they meant the setting of a large Fnaf mall, which might be true since that's probably when The Silver Eyes started getting made
