Well never know if the line for the plant is worth it or not. I wish we knew what they thought they were in line for. No sign, no rope, no cast member nothing. Gotta love people.
The line thing is so true lol, several times on my recent trip when I was waiting for my friend whether it was for the bathroom or getting food people just started lining up behind me and I’d have to hop around finding spots where people wouldn’t start a line behind me.
My mum and I saw some people sitting on a curb and sat down there as well. The thought did cross our mind that nothing was going to happen, they were just tired but it was the start of the parade crowd.
At DCA recently I was standing looking at the headless horseman with a few others and people started lining up behind me cause I was 20 ft away from a popcorn cart…
I am a former cast member and I remember most of these. When I was a lead, I had to know the codes…forgot them all, everyone still remembers Code V. If you are in costume, you can’t eat or purchase anything onstage…if you a guest, you can’t go backstage! I find it funny that, even though we don’t work there, we still adhere to the secrets. Great job with the vid!
not a lounge. Just a small storage area up near the top that someone put up a hoop in. duchessofdisneyland.com/tips-trivia/matterhorn-basketball-court/
Considering how far Disney will bend over backwards to please a guest, the fact that there is an offense so severe it requires a Disney Jail does not speak well of humanity.
It's a bit misleading to call it a "jail" as Disney can't incarcerate anyone. It's really just a security holding area, and it's also the same place where guests who are victims of crimes in Disney sometimes go to give a report. They can interview/interrogate there and hold people for a very short period of time but local law enforcement have to take anyone who is accused of a crime. The most Disney can do unilaterally is say that you're banned from their parks and put you on notice that they will consider you to be a trespasser if you return.
Wow if I close my eyes while listening to this you are spot on Wallace Shawn (Princess Bride) without even trying! Thanks for sharing the fascinating intel.
Each department have their own codes for the most part and some codes to overlap. There's even a code for ashes too. Not long ago I was visiting Epcot as a guest and had to use a code on a restroom in the connections cafe. The restroom was shut down for a good 15-20 min.
If you want to honor a deceased loved one, you buy and engrave a brick for the Disneyland esplanade (or whatever that center section between Disneyland and DCA is called). It's the right thing to do.
My favorite thing I saw backstage as a cast member at Disneyland was a face character playing Snow White sitting, dressed completely from the waist up and wearing bikini panties from the waist down, smoking a cigarette and reading the Bible.
I watched this when it was new, but can't remember if you brought this up. Is it true that at Disneyland are a lot of feral cats who are allowed to stay there, since they keep the rodent population at bay? Are there actually feeding stations for the cats, and do they trap them regularly, to check for diseases, and castrate and sterlilize them, if necessary?
Cast Members alone get unlimited self admit entries, subject to block out dates. Their guests get up to 16 entries per calendar year, and spouses on spouse passes count against the 16 per year.
One time I met a Disney security dog from a few feet away at Grand Californian last December. The Disneyland Security dog got to socialize with guests during his break. Unfortunately, I couldn't socialize with this Disneyland security dog because I didn't want to encourage other guests to socialize with him and my guide dog wouldn't be happy that I socialized with him. I had a good time talking to this Disneyland dog's handler.
It's been a few years now. :-) I actually have a couple of videos in the not to distant past where I talked about the new key, and how I thought it fell more under Courtesy than as a new key. :-)
Last Year on my Trip I had a AK Safari we were so wildly close to the lions I couldn´t even see any barriers I was scared mesmerized and surprised and exhausted excited that was pretty special I didn´t thought that can be possible to be so close there. I thought there is a trench that keeps them away from guests it was shockingly close experience, luckily they weren´t hungry at least for us. 🤣😋😉😊
Hey there, Sir Willow! Great video! This may be a stupid question, but I'm just curious about your opinion as a former cast member. What would you suggest a guest do (if anything) if they see a Cast Member being mistreated? I kow there is security everywhere, but I've heard stories of CM's being harrassed, spat on, etc, and nobody stepped in. I hate those stories, and worry of being in line for a ride and witnessing something like this and not supporting the CM.
A good encouraging word to the cast member, and just kind of being nice to them. don't step in because you can make a situation worse. If theyve done a really good job I'll always make sure to let guest relations know as well.
Just as an FYI, there is no Disney "jail." Disney Security does not have arrest powers and cannot detain anyone. Orange County SO DOES have a substation on property and it has a holding cell in it, but Disney does not have anything to do with it.
There is a beautier Way whereever Brian Hull is around a Park he makes the Voices for the Characters that brought so much happiness to them since they can´t and aren´t allowed to do voices noises he makes them instead happy. Wish he would could do even more of those visits and Videos he is a funny Dude so many voices impressive.
A couple of things; it's the five keys now (Safety Courtesy Inclusion Show and Efficiency), and show comes after the Inclusion key but yeah I agree, characters have to remain in show mode even in rainy situations like getting caught in the rain while performing during the parade. And in my opinion, one thing they should start to track more of; USING SOCIAL MEDIA WHILE THEY ARE BACKSTAGE. I seriously hate TikTok because it allowed people to believe that just because some influencer got away with doing something, they can do it too. It's bad when Cast Members start to do challenges while backstage, even though they are supposed to know better as the legality states that when you sign on you follow the rules, including the legal ones that deal with the privacy and safety of the company and its cast members. That is now a surefire way to get someone fired, like that guy who went viral for showing cast members getting in and out of costumes and showing where all wardrobe is kept on TikTok; I had to report them for safety issues because that was just a dumb thing to do.
@@SirWillow I love it there. I get cast member passes every year from my clients. It is amazing the price I have paid and saved for my large collection of Disney snow globes compared to what I would have paid for them in the park.
Hope your not still working there. It would not be surprising that one of the cast members are watching RUclips they do also ebay because cast members try to sell service awards. I use to work there.
Just got back from a trip to Disneyland and we saw a curious thing, Mary Poppins in the white gown just like you briefly showed in this video in line for a couple of rides at fantasy land. Soon we realized that it was not just a park guest, but it was also a man in drag. Shortly after we saw them leave the park as we rode the train by the entrance. I wondered if he was kicked out? I know they don’t allow adults in costume regularly but this was Halloween time so the rules are different. Is there such thing as being evicted for impersonating a character? This guy’s costume was incredible, it was easy to mistake him for the real Mary Poppins until you got close enough to see his Adam’s apple and five o clock shadow. It just made me wonder aside from the drag issue, could you get in trouble if you enter a park with a very convincing costume and got mistaken for a cast member?
That DS9 T-shirt is all kinds of awesome
People! Can’t live with or without them! Ha ha thanks for the video.
Very interesting.i like these type of lists
10:48 I was "good friends" with the Easter Bunny for 3 years. As much as I had no desire to hold someone's baby, I had no choice.
Great Video 😃👍♥️

How many times have I heard this, “What’s this line for?”

Growing up near D-land there was a rumor that there was a employee lounge with a backetball court inside the Materhorn...

The thing about relatives ashes is already pretty well known..

Yup. All true

Blue passes get 16 sign ins, a silver pass holder gets you unlimited sign ins, subject to booking a reservation or block out days.

I have had to walk Haunted Mansion and Indy a few times looking for remains. You must have left Disney a while ago, because there are 5 keys now.

Yes. There are a few of them. Only open to cast members though.
