This is one thing Ive never capitalized on cause I played UFC undisputed 3 when I was like 11 or 12. I always just ran exhibition mode being a newer fan to the UFC at the time. I miss this game so much.

I agree with you about the submission game for undisputed 3. Way more balanced than UFC 3. Stamina and stats actually play an important role unlike EA's method.
Submission mini game ground game is so much better in this game than EA's it's so annoying getting taken to the ground and the submission mini game is irritating which is why I just fight like a kickboxer using knees kicks as well as G&P to finish and clinch sometimes as well
Coming from a bjj blue belt: You can finish the americana, especially on a lower ranked opponent. But it is hard to maintain an americaa position and the side control at the same time. It is easy for the opponent to bridge, roll and escape. It lacks control. Thats why it is uncommon in ufc/skilled opponent. Same goes for americana from the mount. Relativ easy to roll/escape. Thats why the kimura is better. Because you can put one leg on the top of opponent's head for control/prevents rolling. Americana from the crucifix is better because you have your opponent pinned. Position over submission is the key.
I'm a lil new to grappling, started a few months ago, but isn't the americana usually initiated in full mount then switching to side control for more torque?
@@liampope3326 No. But wherever you can keep balance you can initate the sequences. Americanas and Kimuras are way to low percentage from top for me to bother wasting energy on. Can much more reliably pressure people into arm triangles and back takes.

It's really weird seeing a guy like Sotiropolos, who in real life lost 5 straight after 2010, have a 20-4 record in the UFC and be champion while guys like Edgar and Penn Sink down the rankings.
I feel like sometimes the best guys fall in the rankings and you tend to skip them in title mode so that you have some good opponents to fight in defence mode that you haven't already beat? That's what I find any way

All the animations are clunky and unrealistic. The game also has input lag which makes it absolutely unplayable. Do yourself a favor and play undisputed 3 if you're about that life

Man this game was so good for its time I miss it so much the ground game to how the takedowns even their backs can be on the cage and you can just keep dragging them down even on your back you could sway and throw elbows and strikes the knockouts always excited me especially the strikes after the knockout.. makes me wonder where thq would of taking the Ufc Franchise if they didn’t bankrupt. To me they did everything right even the first 2 they came out with from octagon interviews to call outs they did great with the Ufc games! The ground game was so damn deep and immersive on Undisputed 3. I'd find myself doing matches on Hard difficulty and picking a BJJ guy and pretty much just have grappling matches, trying to keep the fight on the ground the whole fight. Basically the complete opposite of EA UFC 3 where I'd try to keep the fight standing up cuz the grappling and ground game were so damn busted
i just came back to this game myself, god its great, ive been playing a career with a CAF and i went to WAR at lightweight with frankie edgar, it was madness, i won via tko after dropping him but with the difficulty cranked it really can get crazy, there was a near 3 minute endless brawl one round where we stood in the center of the octagon trading, using head movement and counter striking, its wild
You can submit with an Americana from side control but you have to have the opponent gassed and be the stronger man to even have a hope of pulling it off. If you watch amateur or even minor league MMA it happens from time to time but in the UFC you will almost never see it because everyone is so evenly matched and honestly its just easier to set up an arm bar or a guillotine....heck even a figure four would be easier imo...not to mention ground and pound is just more satisfying for most fighters. If I recall Dan the Beast was able to do it, but that man was an all american wrestler who over powered everyone in that era with his massive upper body strength.

Bro I was playing UFC 3 ranked and at the last second of the fight I knocked my opponent out. My fighter walked off chearing and Joe Rogan said he is out, but then it went to decision and my opponent won the fight. This game is BS.
I think the thing I enjoy most about this game (from what I’ve seen) is that every character is viable. Everyone is usable, not just the top characters. I really really love that.

I love the fast paced feel of the A.I. In this game and the fact that it seemed like it got harder later into the fights the AI actually looks fun to fight in this game where as EA UFC 3 they just move back when u move and wait for u to throw every fighter needs there own style and strikes for UFC 4 to be amazing
I always thought that the A.I in Undisputed 3 was amazing and most the fighters fought pretty similar to their real life counterparts. Playing on anything above normal difficulty with Sim stamina was always a fun challenge
Man every time you upload this game you just remind me how much I miss it. Especially this mode, they even let you use your career fighter you went through a career with, same stats moves and all that in this and exhibition . The best part about this game is that it's SPONTANEOUS . Anything can happen. In career mode other fighters actually lose fights and belts switch hands. In EA's version everything is static it's just not good enough for me. You can't wine & dine me everyday for 2 weeks straight and expect me not to expect the same treatment the rest of the month. it's not like these things haven't already been in the game before. (Yeah I know, different developers but EA has had 3 opportunities to make this work )
Even though it's the grappling and ground game that blow me away with this game, the striking, although a little stiff, is still pretty damn good. I always feel like the fight can end with one strike, and counters in Undisputed 3 were BRUTAL! Man if they could remaster this game with more fluid striking animations I wouldn't even care if they ever made another UFC game.

one thing I always wished UFC undisputed 3 had was allowing you to put those unique strike animations on CAFs. It would be so nice to have those unique leg kicks or step in elbows/knees during career mode edit: Americana is perfectly doable from side control, it's just typically easier to get in crucifix. it seems most people in MMA don't attempt it from side control because it's "harder" or maybe they don't know how to actually control the arm. someone else said it's harder to maintain side control while attempting the sub, and it kinda is, but there are ways to stay heavy and prevent them from bridging

This was my favorite mode on UFC Undisputed 3. Can you ask EA Sports to add an offline mode like this. If they released a mode like this in EA Sports UFC 5, it would take the game to another level. The games are really missing offline modes

10th planet brown belt here. Yeah you can finish that. Is it the most common postion? Eh. There's a billion ways and little nuances to finish subs/off subs/etc. A lot depends on the weight/positioning/angles/how the person is gripping/flexibility.....etc etc
If I was a die hard mixed martial fans at the time the way I am now this game would of been my favorite! Great rag doll animations and I also agree I prefer this submission mini game overall! I play wwe games and it’s a flawless submission system based on stamina...they add that in ufc 4 and I’ll be a happy camper

I love the fast paced feel of the A.I. In this game and the fact that it seemed like it got harder later into the fights the AI actually looks fun to fight in this game where as EA UFC 3 they just move back when u move and wait for u to throw every fighter needs there own style and strikes for UFC 4 to be amazing
I always thought that the A.I in Undisputed 3 was amazing and most the fighters fought pretty similar to their real life counterparts. Playing on anything above normal difficulty with Sim stamina was always a fun challenge

Man every time you upload this game you just remind me how much I miss it. Especially this mode, they even let you use your career fighter you went through a career with, same stats moves and all that in this and exhibition .
The best part about this game is that it's SPONTANEOUS . Anything can happen. In career mode other fighters actually lose fights and belts switch hands. In EA's version everything is static it's just not good enough for me. You can't wine & dine me everyday for 2 weeks straight and expect me not to expect the same treatment the rest of the month.
it's not like these things haven't already been in the game before. (Yeah I know, different developers but EA has had 3 opportunities to make this work )
Even though it's the grappling and ground game that blow me away with this game, the striking, although a little stiff, is still pretty damn good. I always feel like the fight can end with one strike, and counters in Undisputed 3 were BRUTAL! Man if they could remaster this game with more fluid striking animations I wouldn't even care if they ever made another UFC game.
crimsontide1980 I feel the same way, the remastered version might even sell more than EA's version. Shit they started to drop the price after only a couple months of release.
one thing I always wished UFC undisputed 3 had was allowing you to put those unique strike animations on CAFs. It would be so nice to have those unique leg kicks or step in elbows/knees during career mode
edit: Americana is perfectly doable from side control, it's just typically easier to get in crucifix. it seems most people in MMA don't attempt it from side control because it's "harder" or maybe they don't know how to actually control the arm. someone else said it's harder to maintain side control while attempting the sub, and it kinda is, but there are ways to stay heavy and prevent them from bridging

This was my favorite mode on UFC Undisputed 3. Can you ask EA Sports to add an offline mode like this. If they released a mode like this in EA Sports UFC 5, it would take the game to another level. The games are really missing offline modes

Except for striking, Undisputed 3 was better than EA UFC 3 in every way. Grappling, both in the clinch and on the ground, the presentation...

If I was a die hard mixed martial fans at the time the way I am now this game would of been my favorite! Great rag doll animations and I also agree I prefer this submission mini game overall! I play wwe games and it’s a flawless submission system based on stamina...they add that in ufc 4 and I’ll be a happy camper

if this game had sliders it’d easily be the best ufc game oat to me. my biggest issue with this game was the constant knockouts. how many of the fights in the video ended with them? great video though, nostalgia every time

You don’t really need to be on crucifix to do americana like ufc 3. You can easily do it from side control or mount
