Only good thing about that era was Aj styles being cemented as a main eventer , im not saying his title reign was perfect but it was good for what it was , i seriously hope wwe will give him one last title reign cause they done my man SO DIRTY for the past 4 years (smh 😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑)

At least Strowman won the title but past his best work. Joe! Yeah, and they made him work commentary before winning a world title.
The reason why they pull the trigger on Braun and Joe is because Vince wanted the Universal Champion to be Roman

@@merc9056 there’s that but there was also a societal shift. Advertisers saying you can’t do certain things like no man on woman violence. Since hhh has taken over the ppvs have gotten but the tv still sucks I’ve tried watching Smackdown and raw multiple times I couldn’t. Sit through more than 2 segments. It’s combination of social media and try not to offend people today that has hurt wrestling the most the backstage stories are more entertaining than what’s happening on tv unless it involves the bloodline
As a Finn Bálor fan, I hated this time and was prepared to stop watching in 2019 until he returned to NXT and AEW started.
Every episode was a burden and felt like "I have to" watch because you're hoping it will get better. But now, every episode is a must watch and it DOES get better.
Those are years I will never forget, the horror. I remember people saying during this time that if Triple H was in charge of wwe main roster it would have been good as NXT.
Large part……..Because vince was still in charge……he shouldve stepped down years ago. thank god hes out of wwe now triple H is cookin!
2017-2019 WWE felt like New Generation Era hell it was worse cause we have seen Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras by 2017 so we knew how good wrestling could be,Vince McMahon's booking just got worse and worse over the years
That time period makes me appreciate the current product even more

Look at how far Roman has come, he went from having extreme go away heat to being the Tribal Chief, thank God they let him do his own promos and character work.
NXT had to hold it down during this time
It’s because of a old man who wasn’t in touch anymore and needed to step down. Glad that Triple H is in charge because the product has been AMAZING
This time period was awful but this was the time i became a fan of AJ Styles.
He saved me from quitting during this time
The fact that AJ was used properly during the dark time of late 2010s. And he's a TNA/NJPW guy!

Raw wws terrible all of 2017. Smackdown after wrestlemania got terrible because they buried nakumaru Wyatt n Dean. And cena went part time.
I'm thankful for the Paul Levesque era because
1. The storylines are a breath of fresh air and exciting
2. The NXT call ups have their time and chance to shine.
3. Creative freedom
4. new main eventers
Idk about the NXT call-ups necessarily. Yeah a lot of them have been better, but at the same time people like Alba Fire and Isla Dawn haven't really done much, Cameron Grimes was completely wasted and released, Odyssey Jones hasn't appeared at all, not saying it's always gonna be the case, but not every NXT call up since he took over has been good.
@@dwightyboy5324In defense for Odyssey Jones.. he was drafted to RAW while Vince still had control. Odyssey was still green and ended up just doing things like Main Event and live shows. This second time now he was drafted again, but hopefully he gets used the 2nd time around.
@@majinpvegeta that's a fair point, he probably was brought up a little too quickly. Hopefully since he got drafted again this year he can do something. Hopefully he isn't just released in a few months
2017-18 wasn't so bad honestly. 2019 however..... WAS FUCKIN HORRENDOUS!!!

· R-Truth & his antics wit the 24/7 championship
· The overrated scripted promos
· Liv Morgan's horrible return
· Becky & Seth being overbooked
· The Hell in a Cell main event
· Erick Rowan & that fake ass animatronic spider
· The rest of the women on the main roster being treated like after thoughts
· Kofi losing the WWE Championship in like 8 seconds
Like, this shit was so horrible, I damn near stopped watching wrestling as a whole bcuz of it

Becky's run was epic during this time
The 2018 WWE simply ended with what would perhaps be one of the biggest matches in the history of the industry: AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34. A match that had everything to be 5 stars, ended up turning into a shitty RAW style match and an even worse feud.
Man, I really hate Vince.
It was literally just Vince’s out of touch ass. Dudes never been a genius. Just lucky

The Night Brock beat Kofi for the Championship I was live in attendance. I believe that was the same show that Advertised Undertaker, Stone Cold and a few others. And Taker and Austin never showed up if I’m not mistaken that was the 20TH Anniversary of Smackdown, when they Debuted on FOX. Such a waste of time and money!
Ladies & Gentlemen, we are officially in the greatest year of all time.

2. Hip Hop is peak again
3. Anime is peak again
4. UFC is peak again
5. Even Gaming is taking Ws with Stellar Blade & Helldivers 2.

This is one of the reasons why I hate Vince McMahon, Triple H elevated his people in Nxt they got to the main roster and they were Dead On Arrival.
Nxt was amazing the takeovers were incredible but it got Vinced.

The fact that Renee was on commentary made me stop watching the highlights because she was that terrible and cringe
Wrestling was unwatchable at that time if you think about it triple H and Nick Khan saved WWE

I feel you, it was kinda around late 2018 to early 2019 I had kinda stopped really caring about wrestling in general for about two years. I was briefly back when Edge came back, but I didn't start watching weekly again till around early 2021
the Becky Lynch stuff from this era was Fire
I liked it as much as Romans current run
Maybe it was also because of how reletively better it was from the rest or my love for 2006-09 edge repetation ruined it for me

biggest mistakes in WWE between 2017-2019: Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion ... Not properly using NXT call-ups.. Brock Lesnar holding the Universal Championship hostage for a long period of time... Great Balls of Fire PPV...Ending Auska's undefeated streak... Making Alexa Bliss a face when she's clearly an amazing heel...Dolph Ziggler's "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME" crap...TOO MANY TITLES...Shane McMahon as a heel and The Miz as a face...the CONSTANT push of Baron Corbin...Not giving Kofi Kingston a very lengthy WWE championship reign...Survivor Series Brand Supremacy...Wrestlemaina 2017-2019 having 15 matches in one night....Kurt Angle's retirement match vs Baron Corbin when he clearly should've had that against John Cena...MUST I GO ONWARD?!?!?!
if i may add. basically making every female superstar(asuka ember moon riot squad (ruby riot liv morgan sarah logan) the iiconics (peyton royce & billie kay) mandy rose sonya deville kairi sane nikki cross lacey evans & zelina vega) that was called up to the main roster from nxt apart of a lost generation of wwe's women's division because at that time (for the exception of sasha banks & bayley) they were only focused on pushing charlotte alexa bliss becky lynch & ronda rousey
Now with Triple H handling things is 100% better is not perfect by any means but is better, right now I'm actually looking forward to the King & Quinn of the ring tournament on RAW cause we Have Gunther and Ilja Dragunov and I can't wait for them to meet again

It's all Vince. Vince is stuck in the Attitude Era. Thinking that what worked then or got looked over then would be okay to do now. Out of touch old man having a iron clad fist on creative and thinking that the entire company is his sandbox and the wrestlers his toys to do as he wished with them without consequence.
Only NXT was the reason for me to watch wrestling at that time
Tbh, 2017-2019 was pretty much all about The Beast & The Tribal Queef.
From Jinder as WWE Champion to the Wild Card Rule,WWE was truly garbage from 2017-2019
Pandemic was a reset for WWE,Roman Reigns' heel turn changed everything,HHH in creative has helped like the product we have now is 100x better than 2017-2019 WWE
The pandemic era was kinda bad too lol even though liked Roman , Randy Ortons heel turn was VERY underrated and it’s forgotten and what drew did was cool but it was just a very weird time that I didn’t like a lot of weird shit was happening 😂 it just became consistently watchable in 2022

Im realizing regarding Shane McMahon winning the Best in the World Tournament…..if Shane McMahon lost, per storyline, wouldn’t he have fired himself? (He made a stipulation that if the Smackdown star lost in the finals, they would be fired. So, if Shane lost, wouldn’t it have meant he would’ve fired himself?) 🤣🤣
This era of WWE killed my love for wrestling, I used to watch every segment on their RUclips channel as that was my only way of watching at the time, but from 2017-19 I found myself becoming less and less interested because the product was so terrible, I was barely watching the shows, I refused to watch PPV’s apart from the big 4, the main thing keeping me from cancelling my WWE Network subscription was NXT because they were constantly on fire, but eventually even that couldn’t stop me from cancelling, I started to find it pointless to invest in the NXT talent because I knew Vince and his team would drop the ball with them like they did with previous call ups.
My passion for wrestling was so shot to pieces that even the start up of AEW couldn’t win me over, I just had to abstain from wrestling all together for some sanity, I came back after 5 years because I saw some very interesting things happen, Vince is gone, CM Punk came back, WM40 and the overall feel felt better.
I honest don't know how wwe survived throughout the late 2010's with vince being in charge
even at 12 years old i had never despised anyone more than i despised brock lesnar or corbin during this time and especially SHANE MCMAHON

I agree that RAW and SmackDown, especially RAW was hot trash from 2017 to 2019, but lucky for us we had Prime NXT to enjoy, yes I'm talking about the "Black and Gold" NXT so it was not all bad for WWE

The only good show that ever aired at that time was NXT, NXT locked it DOWN and was the best to even be seen
They was some great moments in 2017 to 2019 despite how bad it was, Brock early title run, Jericho Owens and AJ styles. Furthermore Some decent women feuds. Alot of hidden gems in that era.
Vince receiving SA allegations and being forced to step down as chairman really helped the company get better. 🤣🤣🤣
I think back to SmackDown in 2016 a lot. I felt like match quality and storytelling was great at that time & especially the ratings were almost-well above Raw, but during 2017 I started to notice a bit of a downgrade.
The pain we went through during this era
AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Seth Rollins, New Day, Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Rhonda Rousey as well as NXT were the best things of WWE around here.
All this said I don’t think it was as bad as New Gen. But it was FAR more forced with the Roman face experiment. I personally still think 2010-2015 was more boring.

NGL, I returned to watching WWE in 2019, after the Royal Rumble.
There were at times when I felt I was content with the product, as it did have some very solid angles going on:
Kofimania
Daniel Bryan's heel run
The short Becky vs Lynch feud leading to WM 35, before Charlotte
NXT Invasion onto Survival Series
The Fiend before Goldberg
Looking at it in hindsight and understanding the product now, yeah. That was a rough period to go through.
There was the wild card rule in 2019, which was only made for Roman Reigns to appear on both brands, then there was the stupid commercial break rule, where matches can’t continue during the ad breaks, so there was a shit ton of random 2/3 falls and tag elimination matches, this included an unexplained Mixed Tag Team elimination match between Seth and Becky against Andrade and Zelina
The best of wwe from 2017 to 2019 was definitely NXT
I remember the repeated matches every week 😂 it was unwatchable.
Vince is a terrible human being, and I'm so glad I did not watch the trash era that was most of the 2010s save a few (and I mean A FEW) select moments in time earlier in the decade, but 2017-2019? Disgusting. I would never, and I did not! Thank goodness for Triple H taking charge (and like it or not, THE ROCK working with him), period!
The only thing saving these years was Randy, let's be honest when he brought back the Legend Killer persona, put on the hoodie and started kicking people again it was great but then the feud with Bray started

:1997. Stopped for a full mega 7 months plus

WWE around that time was basically "The Firefly Funhouse show rudely interrupted by 2 hours and 55 minutes of wrestling."
The Kurt Angle one could've been okay if that one guy wasn't his son but a protégé. It'd be cool to see Kurt Angle in a mentor role.

2017 and 2019 in wrestling was just awful like who would come up with a dog food storyline or the hell in the cell match between seth and bray waytt honest i think it be vince was doing all that booking at the time
It's still trash and it's been trash for a while now. Rock literally saved the day at Wrestlemania
The ratings were so high even before the rock comes so basically the rock did nothing

WWE in 2017 seriously broke me to no end that I got used to the mediocrity of WWE from 2018-2019 and it was just common to me at this point. So you’ll understand why I was so happy with AEW Dynamite’s existence!!!
I remember there was wwe fans telling me it was a good time, i'm glad he's gone. Not a WWE fan yet, its not back to being great but with HHH in charge and its still early in his reign, WWE has potential to go back to being enjoyable again
Ironically it gave imo the best times of NXT and AEW
