FYI it is not possible to go all the way up to 90 pity, i am a whale on genshin pulled over 6000 thousand times and the most i ever went up to is 86.
Good overview and mindset. I know they're not as exciting, but i would not ignore the light cone banners. In some ways they are more future-proof and a better investment than specific characters. Not sure if you've covered them already, but worth mentioning. Good video, hope the game lives up to the hype!
The light cone banners really seem like whale banners, or for people who are just ALL IN on a unit. Which would be a fine way to play but could strap you for resources

Although they are stat sticks that any unit can benefit from, only the passive is tied to "class", makes sense that we'll need a better understanding of what the "endgame" is gonna be about. In genshin, clear speed is crucial, so weapons are super important. Personally I hope they don't make number of actions matter too much since alot of cool strategies may not be viable. Just lost my 50/50 to Yanqing at early pity! Super happy since he's a single target DPS (similar but slightly less impactful than Seele) and I now get to pull for his father figure Jing Yuan
i got yanqing on the starter banner, and i have the same thought- get the dad :) but i need to win 50/50 or save up a lot :'D
i got yanqing from the standard too, i absolutely love his ridiculously high dps and fast moves
Well, Yanqing is the second best single target dps in the game next to Seele so...
Hmmm... I used 50 tickets on standard banner and got him but those tickets i wasted felt like it's not worth a shot

Something to consider is that you're gonna have to pull eventually since certain modes are gonna need 2 teams. I don't believe they give you enough free units to make 2 viable teams. This is the catch-22. Being picky might delay progression or even make things harder.
You get pulling tickets for the new player banner and standard banner so I think that will cover the savers
It's Hoyo and they tend to indulge story and not make the game super hard since they are story tellers at heart. What we had in beta wasn't too hard and I was mainly running March 7th as a shielded with Natasha on the other side as the healer and was fine.

Your guide was helpful! I just have one question as I never played Genshin and the only gotcha I ever played was FEH. Assuming I play everyday and such how often do you get the currency to pull? Like on average how many pulls could I do each week or each month?

I got himeko in second discounted ten pull. As a honkai player, I am grateful. Itd be cool to get welt too but I am happy with just himeko too 🙏
dang that's some luck, I got welt but only at the 5th ten pull, still great tho cuz he is prolly my favourite 5 star so far, enjoy himeko!

My sole plan is pull on beginner for Bronya or Clara and hopefully pull one of them and not have to reroll, otherwise reroll to either and then accept it and move on. I rerolled way too much for others than I'm not into like a double 5* or something.😊
Plus as much as I loved Seele in beta I'm skipping both and saving for later since eidolons are so good.
I honestly don't like rerolling after about 10 times. I'll do it some here for content if nothing else
@Auronnj Jayy yeah, I agree. I figure within 5 rerolls I should get Clara or Bronya, since it's 2/7 and I tend to have good luck when I really want a char.

Best case reroll for me is any 5* + tingyun. Early hit on seele. And allow me to spend 70 pulls on Jingyuan banner and miss the 50/50. Keep pulling for more dupes of 4*

I just started this game (level 9 xD) and I'm looking for guide, this was really helpful, I've done 2 multi-summon on Seele so maybe I can now save for a more hype/better banner character
I going to skip Seele for Jing Yuan not only just for Jing Yuan but also for all the 4 stars in Jing Yuan banner. Besides I'm planning to pull for Kafka too so i think they will work well together.
I lost on Seele banner to Gepard. Now Jing Yuan is guaranteed.
Pity carry-over feels so good in Genshin after playing WotV... I'm so happy its a thing and will continue into HSR.

They made rerolling so tedious and long, I'm just going to see what character I get from the 50 warps thing and if it's someone I don't like I might reroll if I really like the game, or drop it if I didn't end up liking it.

I’ve been saving up pity by using Seele’s banner for Jing. I think I’ve got enough pity now that I can just save and have a higher chance of getting him and I haven’t gotten a single five star off her pull
Since pity carries over doing seele's to 50 would be a good idea for both f2p and whales since preregistration rewards are absurdly good and basically let's you choose any two banners over the next two months now that the general pool 5* are all pretty close together with the changes that have been done to them.
Yeah I think since folks will do that. I just never count on getting lucky in gacha games
@@AuronnjJayy the common units are more or less equal with the changes overall so getting any two 5* is good even if you miss the banner flip your getting something good at worst. The launch banner also gets a massive boost since himeko is almost self-sustaining.

be careful on the starter banner. you can ONLY pull one 5-star from it. so if you get it on the first 8 passes. dont waste anymore on it.
it says that you are guaranteed to get one by pull 50 so even if you already get one then isnt it just cheaper to use the tickets since it has the same 5 star rate as standard banner? because i dont see anything that says that you can only pull 1 5 star

I'm probably gonna be a low spender or F2P but I'm still going for Seele because I like her more. I get people are gonna whale and usually I would for a game I like, but I don't like Hoyoverse and how they typically handle their purchases and stuff, don't want to support them by spending a ton like that. Genshin really ruined my relationship with the company. I'll still do what I can to enjoy this, but not as a paying player

Let's say I save everything for the Jing Yuan banner but lose the 50/50 after reaching hard pity. Do you suggest to keep pulling or to stop and wait for the next "optimal" banner?
If your pulling for him go all in. If your pulling for the 4 stars and you got them you can save

i’ve gotten 2 himekos & like 6 other pre cool 4 stars plying f2p so far. I’m concerned about when the amount of crystal thingies is gonna start dropping off like in genshin with primos. They were generous for a bit, now we rely off daily/events/abyss
I rolled about 50 times.. Only got 1 account with Welt and Natash and light cone Night on the Milky Way.... Then an account with Tingyun and Sushang... which of those should i keep? Or would you keep rolling lol

I remember some people saying to single pull in Genshin and/or Honkai due to the pity system. Do you think that applies as well in Star Rail?

I think its a good idea if you REALLY want to min max your tickets. It will take longer for sure but if you enjoy pulling you can know exactly when your 4 star pities are resetting and play around that.
4:52 I just did it with Baizhu in Genshin and got him after two weeks of framing primogems. I just miscounted my loss of 50/50 and totally forgot I don’t have guaranteed anymore and… I lost. But now I have him
Very Helpful video. I am new to Gatcha and I am confuse. I got Clara on my first Pull of standard banner. I still have 55 standard Pass. What should I do next? Pull the rest on stellar warp?
Finish out your beginner banner and use the rest of your standard passes on the standard banner as you get them!
The optimal Genshin Impact pulling strategy is to save gems until you have 180 pulls, you most likely won't need all those pulls but if you get massively unlucky and get the Hard Pity then its better than not saving enough and missing the character entirely. That's the kind of saltyness that gets you to quit the game. Also Genshin has a good economy of F2P gems now but not at launch. It will improve over time in Star Rail as the game makes more money.
I am gonna save everything until I get a character I like which hasn't shown up yet. By the time Eula came out in Genshin I had saved enough free gems that I was able to Max Constellation. If your patient with your account and know the mechanics of the game well enough to do well with the free characters you get, anything is possible without spending a dime.
I lost on Seele banner to Gepard, so now Yun Jing is guaranteed. I’ll just save my jades to get to pity again on his banner.

i’ve spent 11 hours on this game do you think i should restart and save all me gems( i use all that i’ve gotten so far on the seleey banner)
My departure warp fucking glitched and I got Clara, Gerard, and sleep like the dead light cone. Then I decided I was feeling lucky and got luocha under 20 pulls
I lose my 50/50 to Clara and got her again on my starter banner. Question is do i guarantee Jing Yuan as my next 5* if i stop pulling for Seele or i could lose the 50/50 again? I love Seele's playstyle but i heard Clara, M7 & Jing comp is so good. Someone help.
So Stellar Jades are basically Primogems in Genshin, and should be spent exclusively on the event banner
I do not know if the pity system here will be the same as in Genshin, but if it is, your pity then is never wasted because it carries onto the next character banner. Say you pulled 79 times and didn't get the character you wanted, next banner you'll only need 11 to get the featured unit. So pulling on every banner for the 4 stars may not be a bad idea if you don't mind getting the 5 star character. If you mind, well yeah, don't pull?
It's the same, so really need an average of 150 pulls to get a guaranteed rate up.

Blade would be really good synergy with Luocha tho.
Blade deals damage based off his max HP, while Luocha increases max HP of allies. So.. might try to get Luocha as well, if you want to ofc.

I got Shield Guy (Gerard) either way i heard he makes doing the SU easier so i guess its a win while also pairing him with Seele
I heard some people on the reddit say that bluestacks might download unwanted software in the background, its a bloatware and heard other people say its completely safe. Did you ever have any issues like that while using bluestacks? I can't decide if people who got problems are actually reporting real concerns or they just were stupid and didnt download bluestacks from the official site. Did you ever have any problems like that with bluestacks?
I've been emulating WoTV on it for 3 years, no issues besides the occasional crashes that come with emulation

and yeh March is pulling some weight with her added bonus atks on shielded aly being attacked, she can proc lots of break on ice-weak enemies
plus i got a light cone that wrks well with her and her naturally high def. "trend of the universal market" boosts def and when shes attacked, inflicts burn for 2 turns that deals 40% her def each tic, and with her Skill she can shield herself and increase self target chance.
so now she's gettng targetted more, with her high def to take lower dmg, counters twice per turn, and each atk on her also inflicts burn for more damage. feelsgoodman.

whales are killing the enjoyment and fun for themselves, becoming over tunned and over powered not having to experience the actual grind.
to further my point more, you do not fall behind whales at all actually, its a single player game that is entirely is f2p, this game is not p2w at all because you dont vs other players, so anyone spending money is for their own enjoyment or just because they suck and cant beat it without doing so and in saying this you arnt missing out on anything if you dont get certain units
the starting ones you get are MORE then enough to complete it
so there is no point mentioning whales and falling behind someone when its a single player game and you are competing with whales for what reason?
