So this comeback the members have roles:
- Hyojin is the ''One who came to steal time'' (as PD said he stopped the time in the MV)
- E-Tion is the “Prince from little planet” (his main set in the MV is the little planet that overlooks the Earth)
- J-US is “Security who guards the Ruins” (as I said for E-Tion his main set in the MV is the ruins. I think he protects them either from android Hyojin or from being destroyed because of time travelling between universes)
- Wyatt is “A time-space Tuk-Tuk Driver” (as PD thought Wyatt can space and time travel using the Tuk-Tuk. In this case it's a Tuk-Tuk because the new universe they are exploring is in Sukhumvit but in the We Must Love MV and Why MV we can see him riding a motorcycle, so that's what I think he uses to time travel in other universes)
- MK is “The Pirate waiting for somebody at the hideout” (MK has always been watching the members through some kind of device, WML the TV screens and Why the VR goggles so I think he is still separated from the members but he is either waiting for them or watching what they are doing.)
- U is “A wanderer for Utopia” (I think that U is the one in charge of finding the New World or the new utopic universe that once will be discovered will bring ONF together and happy)
Also in Why's comeback we had different path predictions for each member depending on where they went in the world. This time instead the path prediction is the same for everyone and it's ''dream hideout'' so I think that even tho they are separated they are still in the same place.

Fun fact, the MV is also a spin-off because they add allusions to previous MVs

-(0:59) the shot of the rocket launch from ON/OFF
-(1:01) the corridor with yellow/black warning tape doors from We Must Love

So, this Album named “Spin Off”, which like a movie when they have their spin off. It’s a smart way to do something different but still connected to their previous story line. It’s now Summer in Korea so they wanna do something that more fun and refreshing. You can see that at the start and at the end of the video is the same scene because they turn back time, which means that the whole story in this MV doesn’t happen after they already turned back the time and they’re probably gonna continue their story from New World next comeback.
I wish to see your listening party on this Album! They have so many different type of songs including New World that’s sightly different from the one in RTK.
'ONF' is a genre. which is my favourite.
ONF's Universe is great! It's the perfect balance of solvable but open-ended. People don't appreciate how hard it is to create a storyline that sticks, and manages to do so across all of their title track MVs. This team's storytelling is amazing. I'm a big fan of the BigHit story, especially TXT's but it definitely lacks fluidity, and I absolutely adore the universe SM has set up with NCT/EXO/SuperM even though they were a bit shy to go full-out until recently, but ONF's company - for me anyways - has them beat. They manage to achieve creating top-notch songs without sacrificing world-building and establishing an intriguing plot which is really hard to do, so props to them!!

that is so true! or the storylines are fully set up but contain errors (like u mentioned) but onf has so much in their comebacks that there's so many things to piece together or make up yourself. i appreciate that there's space to imagine the concept connections. especially since i ult pentagon (now onf too tho) i'm not used to huge connecting stories but little significances like the telephones or lockers being everywhere, and that's in onf WITH MORE. i love them and honestly wm seems like a great company
As an ONF fan I really liked the song, is kind of different from their past comebacks but in a really good way, like,,,, I cant stop listening to this song, its been on repeat since it came out.. But even thought I like it I get that some people dont really know how to feel about this song, bc at first listen it may be weird or it may not be something we are used to listen to in kpop, but thats the thing with ONF, they are slowly turning their music into something that just ONF can pull it off, so I promise you that the more you listen to this song the more it will grow on you and the more you´ll love it. Give them a chance bc they have an amazing discography and you won´t regret checking them out :)

I CRACKED IT!!!
Hyojin has the power to control time.
So he comes in the wagon and stops it. Then he starts joking around and changes some things. Cut to J-Us who is a 'time-travel cop' (wearing the police cap) and he is living in the post-apocalyptic Earth. So he wants to prevent that. Wyatt has a time travel machine (the little car thingy) so he starts collecting the members from different time spans of history. He collects J-Us, who has the mission to kill Hyojin and prevent the apocalypse. J-Us shoots Hyojin and kills him. In the end J-Us cries as he has successfully killed everyone involved in the time travel but the apocalypse is still occurring.
And in the very end Hyojin turns back time and never comes in the wagon in the first place and saves the world by doing so.
I still need to figure out some of the other members' roles in all that but when I do I will come back and edit my comment!
Yup, as PD said this comeback is defintely different. Sukhumvit Swimming is different from We Must Love and Why both in the music style and concept. While We Must Love and Why have an OFF concept ( characterized by a more mature/sexy/darker vibe), Sukhumvit Swimming as well as Complete and ON/OFF has an ON concept meaning that the songs have a more bright, happy and fun vibe. In this comeback ONF have tried a lot of new things in the song and in the choreography too so being a Fuse (ONF fan) it's really interesting and fun seeing them try new things out. I have always loved ONF's songs because they are so unique and interesting.

"This is the most unique summer song." Yep, agreed. It's fun, it's wacky, it has so much personality and I love it.
As a Fuse I think it was really smart and I saw it coming a mile a way because it's what WM did with Oh MY Girl after queendom. They released guerilla during queendom which was the most OMG in essence song they'd ever made to that point, and I'm still mad it doesn't have a mv. And then their CB was nonstop which still had Omg essence but was extremely Public friendly and on trend for the time it was released.
Then for ONF they released New World which imo was the grand finale of the series since we must love. And so I wasn't surprised that for the cb they again released something that was still ONF but extremely public friendly and on trend.

i feel like PD really needs to do an ONF listening party! Their B-side tracks are soooo good!!!
Ok so, if J-us is there to protect the ruins of time, and Hyojin is about to stop and steal the time, shooting him looks like the right option. But what if there are two versions of J-us, and the one who's mourning realizes that everyone is dead because he prevented Hyojin from stopping time? We see in every scene there's some sort of apocalypse in the end, and they're all dead because the apocalypse wasn't stopped. Minus Mk, who teleported himself before and is now floating in space while unconscious (?)
All of this chaos is actually part of a lucid dream/virtual reality they're having after opening the "New World", in which stuff as Wyatt traveling (here he drives the tuk tuk to transport E-tion and J-us to and from earth), Mk being the watcher, J-us and Hyojin's rivalry after a broken friendship(?) and so on comes repeated and distorted in a way. Yuto is just trying to escape the dystopian reality in this dream, since he's the wanderer for utopia (the new world), i wish i grasped more of his storyline tho.
The end of this dream is actually time going backwards so Hyojin never got shot, will we see how that happened? Isn't Hyojin the only one capable of stopping and reversing time? Are there two versions of everyone we didn't see? So many questions still, but here's the stuff i thought for this mv specifically.
Hyojin never tries to steal time.
That's how it all ended. That's how the apocalypse was prevented.

You know, the quote of "and this is your form of therapy" is so underrated and small in their videos compared to the meaning it holds to me. i really like this comeback, and from what i understand this mv is somehow connected to the others, but im not to smart on theories. i think it's nice to see something different from them, while still being fitting to them if that makes sense. also they are doing better and getting more fans now, which is great. i became a "follower" of them with we must love, and i became a fan after why, i feel that they are really growing musically

I really liked this comeback, I'm glad they got to be a little bit silly this era! Their whole album is just as great, especially Geppetto! This comeback has been super crazy to follow, being an ONF fan since their first comeback with Complete it was pretty surreal to see them get number one on a chart and an increase of 306% in first week album sales. Can't wait for what they got in store next!!! (And this is absolutely MK's era he looks and sounds amazing)

You definitely need to check out both ON/OFF and Complete, ON/OFF especially since it expands on their lore and maybe you'll understand the MVs a little bit better. Also you should check out the individual teasers they released for Why, they give a little more context! I personally don't quite understand the story but it's very enjoyable to watch and to try and make your own storylines and theories

I've been a Fuse for a couple of years now and still don't understand completely the storyline for the MVs BUT.. Maybe Earth got destroyed and they are trying to reverse time to go back and create a New World where Earth don't get destroyed on the first place. And maybe Sukhumvit Swimming represents this journey? Each place they're at may represents their individual role on this journey... That was my interpretation on it.

Don't know why... but this quickly became number three in my top five list of kpop songs... it's just so... different... but perfect at the same time
They're supposed to shoot in bangkok but due to pandemic they change it to studio & CGI. Which I think is still impressive and as cinematic as their past MV. Their worldview is really a brain workout. The fandom have tons of theory & everyone is having fun cracking codes. These android story is really interesting and you can't help but to be absorbed into it and you will find yourself trying to connect all their mvs. And its amazing how much effort they put into it. Why MV is the most detailed one, the teasers are just crazy. Meanwhile, SukSwim is a spin-off, its a different story but there still fragments of their previous mv. ONF actually said that this MV is their dreams (maybe the androids dream after why or new world?) If you will notice the members character in SukSwim is the same as in Why & WML:
Hyojin & J-Us = against each other
MK = he's always the observer
U = he seems like trying to escape like in why
E-tion = alone and sad
Wyatt = from motorbike to tuktuk (transportation)
I laughed when PD said "I don't get it", because even ONF members said they really don't know their story. Like every comeback, fuse thought that their theories will become clear but ended up more confuse because of the new codes & clues. And honestly I am never disappointed even though I don't get the story because the MVS are so amazing (I guess I'm just dumb 😂) But its true out of all bg's onf has the most interesting worldview. Like seriously, apocalypse, human clones, androids, parallel world, pandora's box. I really want to commend their staff who thought about this concept. How I wish their worldview were made into webtoon, that would be amazing.
I LOVE THIS COMEBACK!! ONF seriously never disappoint with their music, this album is literally flawless!! This is definitely a slightly different sound for them but it’s still very them but has that summer feel which I think is really cool and really smart! I love it! I agree that it’s one of the most unique summer songs I’ve EVER heard, ONF’s music is literally so unique like legit no one makes the kind of music they make it’s incredible. Since you like both ONF and Oh My Girl, I recommend checking out their senior group B1A4, another group with consistently good discography with a distinctive sound
Speaking as A fuse (ONF fandom) from debut I was iffy on the song the first time I heard it. After the second time hearing it I loved it and now I'm obsessed. At first I thought it didn't think it matched ONF but after that second listen I could hear elements of Complete Me, We Must Love and Why. I was worried how they would live up to the hype after R2K and I think they went past that expectation. After listening to the album the other day I still think ONF has never made a bad song, I just wish more people opened their eyes to how amazingly talented ONF is. Loved your reaction PD!!!

Am I the only one who is reminded of « Le petit prince »? The rose on the moon. The French influence of the costume. Even the way he sits near the end watching the sky.
Also the train/cowboy sequence reminds me a lot of The Great Train Robbery.
