ITS FINALLY OUT!! I missed the episode 1 livestream so I’ve been super stoked to see the start of this fort. I just started a new volcano fort myself and could use some inspiration!
Recently picked up the game after hearing about it for so long, I'm struggling hard but learning the hard way too, your tutos on how to set up your first fortress helps a ton (I still struggle like hell to get wells going or make weapons/armors) but it still is fun
Honestly its the most fun way to learn. Every small improvement feels great, every mistake teaches you new mechanics to overcome. I actually miss being new to the game.
!goal Start year: 365 Refugees from The Iron of Power traveled south to start a new home fleeing from goblin hordes. Goals: Protect the elephants at all cost. "Everything heavily trafficked will be 2 z-levels high" Does that do something? Making a road wider I get, but higher? Does that do anything with the dwarves' mood perhaps?
I have tried doing multiple z-levels of wall engravings along a corridor because dorfs in theory can see them. Anytime I've seen them admiring the art it's always on the same z level though the science continues.
I respect the tactic of bobbing back and forth to grab my attention and hypnotize me at the same time.

Do you have aquifers on your map? Just channel down into one and build the well over it.

I think it's just a style thing but I could easily be wrong. Dwarven Halls is very Tolkien.
