Interesting amp, Jonathan. The clean sound is really great. Surprised it has a headphone jack. Neighbours will be grateful about it. Take care and stay healthy in S'pore! 😉
I often get tempted to buy a tube Amp, seen many good reviews of Blackstar ones, but my good old faithful Boss Katana 50 won’t let me part with it, they are little Jems IMO. I only play at home at the 0.5 watt setting - the volume is perfect (it’s loud enough not enough to annoy my lady and neighbours), it’s amazing how loud it is at that low amp setting. You know I have a lot of respect for you Jonathan and I now beg you to try out a Boss Katana 50 or 100. I’ve seen other people compare them, but they just don’t now how set up things like you do have the standard of your playing. Anyway I love the sound of this Amp, thank you so much for show casing it. Take care of yourself and your family in this testing pandemic drama, please. Keep Safe!
Hello Jonathan, great video! Oldie but goldie! I have a chance of getting a second amp, this version, but just wondering if it's too loud for bedroom use? Do the 2 x 10" Celestion speakers make it way louder than the version with 1 speaker? Aware it accepts headphones, but just wondering if too loud for a bedroom? Also, does it have a power attenuator to reduce it to 1W let's say? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks in advance! Love your channel :)
Hey there :-) would you believe I purchased a BLACKSTAR HT5R MKll just about 6-7weeks ago! So good that you're reviewing this one. The sound of that one is real nice with 2x10-speakers. Mine has 1x12-speaker. I've worked with several amps and BLACKSTAR amps are incredible imho. Just two tubes too, Two channels are great, also this amp takes pedals perfectly well, and has a variety of sound possibilities... AND the price point is tops!! I would certainly recommend this amp!! Nice to see you are doing good :-)
Hey Jon, I enjoyed the video. I have the HT-5 and play a ASAT Special through it. I know that sweet sound that you say is hard to describe. When I use headphones on the 2x12 emulated setting, it sounds just like your setup. Thanks for the good content 😃
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Hi Brother here it's not to bad at the moment hope and pray that this Coronavirus finishes ASAP !! Hope it's ok there Jonathan take care Brother stay safe ❤
I have this amp Jonathan and use it for home use. cool amp!. Had the ht5r but i think the 2x10 speakers make all the difference and the ht5210 sounds a lot bigger. Just bought a G&L Doheney jazzmaster style guitar and can't put it down!! Also enjoyed the late night bike ride :) Be safe brother!
Hiya Jonathon I recently bought a fender tele vintage modified and I usually play thru my marshall head and 2x12 but I bought a Blackstar ID CORE 100 combo for not a lot of money. My tele sounds very good thru it and my LP STD and my Ibanez semi.Blackstar an English company are doing some good amps
Hello Jon! Congratulations on the review of the Blackstar HT5210! I'm interested in the purchase! It would be my first tube amp! What did you think of the ISF? Can you go from the sound of an American amp to the sound of a real British amp? Would you recommend this amp or would you recommend another one in the same price range? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi Jonathan. A friend for weight reasons asked me to change his BLACKSTAR TH5210 for my BOSS KATANA 100w. My question is if those 5w coming out of the 2 speakers will give me at least a third of the volume of the 100w transistor. Greetings from Guayaquil, Ecuador
I'd say have your friend bring it over and try them bothside by side . No one talks about it much here but note that the HT-5210 has 2x10 inches speakers and not 1x12 like the Katana or most other HT models ! I actually spent 150-200 CAD $ more in order to get the 2x10 instead of the 1x12.
I just stumbled upon you today. I have a question...I want to move from Acoustic Guitar to Electric. What Harley Benton would you suggest for the transition?
Harley Benton ones are almost heavy as a brick, if youre in the USA look for a used Epiphone Explorer in the 58 shape, they have a wider and more flat neck, if you want a new one the Harley Benton CST24 series i got one of the earlier models, which in my opinion were better for some reasons is an option under 200 bucks you cant go wrong
Sounds great but I'm not into the I/O being located under the chassis, I have a bad back and fiddling about to look where I'm plugging my cables even if the amp was on a riser would literally be a pain in the back and neck
I agree. I have the ht5r mkii and I don't really need to use any of the io regularly but the headphone jack. All the rest is connected as is, but when I wanna use headphones it's a bit annoying. But it's a fantastic Amp nonetheless you could also go for the head and a cab which has its i/o more excessible.
in my opinion the ISF knob works the other way around but its a known fact in Psychology that if you are told it works this way you believe it, would be nice if you do a short re revirew with a Humbucker loaded guitar :)
Underrated channel.

If you could take only one amp to a desert island and the choice is the blackstar or a Vox AC10C1 which would you take?
The Blackstar ✌💙

Nice vídeo Jonathan, can i play this amp in a gig with a full band with a drumer?
Yes, absolutely!🤓
great review and playing! I've owned this amp for a few years now and love it, such a great sound at a reasonable volume, not quiet though haha.

Rosby Duhart depending on your budget, best to get the higher range models like The Harley Benton Fusion-T HH Roasted FNT
