As a preapprentice, I find all this info super helpful! Thank you for sharing! It would be cool to see how to make some of the equipment, like the perch for the scale, the lure, and just some other things. I also find it helpful to see different mews to help visualize what I want to do with mine. Thank you again for the awesome video!
I was just thinking someone needs to post a video on this :) Jurassic park shirt 👍🏿 Appreciate the videos man. Not easy being a falconer in the United States. USFW made it a hoopedy loop when they sought to legitamize and legalize the sport. Sucks when you want to move to England simply because of falconry LOl
A lot. A test with over 100 questions to test your knowledge, state inspections on your mews and gear, and being an apprentice for two years. It's hard, but it's worthwhile.
Could a falcon live on a perch if it is actively flown daily,, and then brought inside the house at sunset due to cats and the temperature drop. It would be supervised outside during the day with bath available and brought inside during any storms or extreme cold temperature
yah I have seen many falconers do this with their falcons. They build a weathering yard that protects their bird from predators and tie their bird on a perch and fly it every day and bring it in during the night. you just shouldn't perch the bird in direct sunlight.
thanks so much, yeah I wouldn’t put it in direct sunlight but to be honest I don’t think it would harm anyway, here in the UK we only have about 3 sunny days each year😂😂
Teddy I used waxed thread to stitch my hood. For slited jesses I like them made of paracord. For slitless jesses I like them made out of leather, but I sometimes use slitless jesses made from paracord.
For one, the legal age for an Apprentice license is 12, so you can go into falconry at 13! (Atleast in my state) You can talk to your local DNR and ask them for a packet with a list of names of falconers and their numbers. I personally took my test before looking for a sponsor, but you can do whatever. Another thing is, in my state, you can get a general falconer's permit at 16. Good Luck!

I have a question for you do birds of prey especially red tail do they stink I trying to get into falconry but my parents think they will stink
Wont matter much because they will either be hunting with you, training with you or in their muse
Where did you get the clip on the gauntlet, and what kind of clip is it? Thanks.
