- In "Ghost Wolf" (episode 23, filmed in September, 1951) Lois, Jimmy, and Clark are sent to the Lone Pine Timber Company in Oregon to investigate rumors of a werewolf. On their first night there, Lois awakens to find a late-night visitor in her cabin, and we are favored with one of her piercing screams. And watch Jack Larson as Lois explains to Clark that she has no intentions repeating that experience." Jane Adams, the mysterious woman in this episode, was a familiar face in the 40s (the 1949 Batman and Robin serial and House of Dracula). This is her final credited role.
How great are these early episodes with the lighting, shadow's...I know many disagree, but I think P.Coates was by far the best Lois Lane.
No matter how old I am. Always excited to see 1st season of Adventures of Superman. I remember when I was 8 started to watch the show in color and then the real excitement came when it I saw it in black and white for the 1st time and saw the original Lois Lane. The tough but pretty as hell reporter who told Clark to kiss her A. I mean she was raw and could scream!!
No disagreement here; due respect to Noel Neill, Phyllis Coates was a better Lois Lane.
Hotter, too. Noel was cute, but Phyllis…I would have carried her suitcase anytime!
Phyllis Coates ROCKED as Lois Lane. The only other ones who came close were Dana Delaney in the ‘90s animated series and Erica Durance in Smallville.
Noel Neil was cuter, but Phyllis had more of an impact.
00:06 The scene that always gets me on *Season 1* is how *Phillys Coates "scream" like a teenage girl. RIP Phillys Coates* 🙏
Haha! Lois asking Clark why Garvin (the Old Ranger on "Death Valley Days") hadn't been to bed and then telling Clark not to cooperate after he told her he didn't know. She didn't know how lucky she was that he was Superman and could handle her criticism.
Noel Neil could not compete with Phyllis Coates as far as screaming was concerned.
Did you notice the "pin-up" girls on he wall in the background?
Earlier in the episode even Lois noticed them.
Jimmy’s expression!
Phyllis' scream startled Ghost Wolf.
When a Forrest fire started, shouldn't Superman have blown the entire fire out with?his Super Chilled Breath?
Sorry, but I did not care as Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane. She was too hard and rude acting.
“Jeepers!”
As of June 2023 Phyllis is still alive
She passed away October 11, 2023 at 96 years old.
@@christiandenault7606 yeah, I saw that.
Lois cock-blocked Clark's and Jimmy's plans for the bunkhouse.
😄
That scream...
I don't understand, how did I miss the complete show?
If you missed this one, you missed one of the best from season one.
The lady in this scene is the first actress who played Vicky Vale in the movie serial Batman And Robin.
Clark and Superman were her yes men as were all others!
Sorry, but I never liked Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane. She was rude and too bossy and to me Coates came iver to me she was like that in a real life.
She was assertive as any reporter. Especially in those days it was a man’s world.
This was where George Reeves had the cable snap in yhe forest fire scene after he protected the lemur.Notice in the last scene of the episode George seemed*bummed out"after he was rained on.This was after he fell.
