I used to listen to this music every morning while getting ready for work. At that time, I was working as a teacher in a very small town. After waking up, I would try to get ready within 30 minutes to catch the shuttle service, synchronizing every step of my preparation with the rhythm of this music. Each morning, this music helped me start the day with energy. Thank you, Kashiwa. Greetings from Turkey.
@@KASHIWA_Daisuke And you have continued to compose fantastic music ever since then, making several of my favorite albums of all time. I feel lucky that I can be here to hear it.
My father told me its story: A long time ago in a field there lived a scorpion that ate other bugs by using its tale to catch them. Then one day he found himself cornered by a weasel. Fearing for his life, he ran but could not escape it. Suddenly, he fell into a well and, unable to climb out, began to drown. He started to pray then, saying: ”‘Oh, God. How many lives have I stolen to survive? Yet when it came my turn to be eaten by the weasel, I selfishly ran away. And for what? What a waste my life has been! If only I’d let the weasel eat me, I could have helped him live another day. God, please hear my prayer. Even if my life has been meaningless, let my death be of help to others. Burn my body so that it may become a beacon, to light the way for others as they search for true happiness.’ “The scorpion’s prayer was answered, and his body became a beautiful crimson flame that shot up into the night sky. There he burns to this day. My father was telling the truth…” - Kenji Miyazawa, "Night on the Galactic Railroad" (1927)
@@KASHIWA_Daisuke Thanks for the recommendation! I read it and you're correct--it is a beautiful story. I also purchased pm3 and am looking forward to listening to it. :)
Favorite album of all time; the more you listen to it the more you get out of it. You start to see the scenes from the books emerge and come to life. It's literature fully realized and one of the greatest adaptations in any medium. Nothing else has ever made me feel the types of emotions this man's work has, I love everyone that is coming to listen to this album and I hope that you too get as much out of this music as I have.
If only I could listen to this again for the first time. Audio storytelling at its finest. And every emotion of the human soul to boot. When I first heard this in my twenties it deeply changed me.
This was one of the reasons I got interested in japanese music and other circles like Virgin Babylon Records. But there is not much that can compare to this piece of music. It is still my favorite.
I remember the first time hearing this, I was enthralled. It was in the background on a stream I was watching at the time. Fell in love with it and have been enamored since. Thank you for this gift to humankind.
A fair few years ago I used to be the channel that put up this music track, because of my desire to share this piece of music with everyone. Of all the music I have listened to, nothing has ever managed to be as impactful as this piece has. It has carried me through my toughest times and inspired me every time I have listened. As I uploaded it to share with friends, the video itself slowly accumulated a fair few comments and reading through other people’s experiences is a treasured memory of mine. When it was eventually removed, so too were the comments and I lamented over the fact that I couldn’t share it anymore. I remember writing an email requesting that they upload it themselves, and while it might have taken a while, I’m ecstatic to see it back up under the composer’s name. It’s been over 10 years since I first heard this and I’m just as in love with it as I was when I first listened. It may well forever remain the magnum opus of my collection.
Sorry...about 10 years ago, RUclips was also a problem for musicians. and we had to remove it for various reasons. But with the creation of "Content ID", the rights are slowly being protected. I am glad to appreciate your sentiment. Thank you!
Could have written this myself. 8 years after finding it, it's still my favourite song. No other song has captured me like this one has, there's something magical about it. Stella has very special meaning to me.
Finally I can listen to it knowing that it's from the author himself. I've only listened to your music on other channels feeling bad about it because I can't buy your CD and in todays age I don't really own anything that can play a CD. Your music is constantly in the back of my head and I'm returning to it every now and then. Thank you very much for your work, not many artists get through me the same way.

Just listened to sons and it is really good! I've listened to this song for many years and it always made me wonder if you also have sound->image synesthesia? (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromesthesia). I have and I can tell you that your music is very different from regular instrumental music. It not only sounds fantastic but it also creates beautiful imagery in my mind. The way the sound pops out from the darkness of silence is like watching beautiful fireworks in my mind's eye. You are an ingenious painter!
