I love this interview a lot and find myself coming back to it regularly. I love the part where they talk about Rammstein and wanting to attend a show because they heard they were great, despite never having been to an actual show, when it is an (almost) yearly thing I do with my dad because we live in Belgium and Rammstein go there regularly.
I have a Smash Mouth story. My brothers band opened for them when they toured Australia 10 years ago. (thats the main reason I was at the gig) First song in, the crowd started chanting "Shrek song" and continued that chant after ever song. By the fourth song in, the singer had enough and went on a rant and demanded that he wouldn't play anymore songs until someone got him a shot or a drink. When no one in the crowd moved he was like "Im serious rah rah" I get his frustration, but his reaction was intense and made the vibe really uncomfortable. We left after that. So i think Smash Mouth hate their biggest hit, which is a shame.
