Yes it is, metal fan here but man that solo is pure fire, great feel, lots of tasty licks and it's really hard to play perfectly. Guy in the video nailed it 👌
I have always thought this was one of rocks great solos. People have argued with me saying there are much harder solos to play. It’s always been my contention that technically difficult does not always mean a particular piece of music sounds better. ( Not that I consider this a easy solo. ) The Ramones have long been one of my favorite bands. I learned to play guitar on their songs. It’s not complicated or difficult music, ( but you do gotta keep those down strokes flying. Lol. ), but it’s still wonderful and fun music. This song will always remind me of cruising in my buddy’s car in the summertime. He had this song on a mixtape. Man I’ll tell ya, we had such great music then. Didn’t we? The best. I wanna go back with eyes that appreciate what was all around me. If we had only known then how good we had it…
There are a lot of great versions of this, but I think you have really captured it better than the others. Whole thing is so fluid and smooth, the feel is perfect.
This was the most technically well thought out well phrased guitar solos of the 70s ground breaking actually a forerunner to the beautifully constructed solos of the 80s hairbands
@@papa_pt Steely Dan's guitar solos are technical precision, however they're melodic complexity, is more in the direction of a smooth fusion of jazz, rock, and blues elements. Walter Becker and later, Larry Carlton, brought a unique blend of sophistication and groove to their solos, featuring intricate harmonies and tasteful phrasing. Their solos were more bluesy and soulful to intricate and jazzy.
@@Outdoorcookwarereviews yeah you make a good point. Especially in terms of whose solo style really led into the bombastic, glam arena 80s solos. Steely would hire a session guitarist for almost all solos. Larry Carlton like you said, on kid charlemagne and don't take me alive. Also Skunk Baxter with that monster solo on my old school
hey great video first off. secondly i hate most solo stuff on yt (idk why) but i have saved this one. i wanted to tell you and thank you for the phenomenal video!
I didn't know that got a bad rap...I was young when this came out and I remember them having a lot of hype about being the next great band but they really didn't become that but I didn't know they got a bad rap. Can you explain?
One of the greatest solos in rock!!!

Man... This is the ultimate BEST - especially at 1:07 mark.
It sounded like he was sending a morse code. Wow!
Unbelievably good. ❤❤❤

This gotta be the best version I’ve seen
Most accurate version I've seen so far!
Ive been learning this solo for 4 years and not even play perfect as you do. Kudos to you sir.
Good job and loved the camera angle. Really showed how much technique is required to play this solo. 👍
You nailed it bro' ! Well done. Always loved this solo

I always thought it sounded '90s but from '79
I'll figure you for forgetting all the incredibly phrased steely dan solos from the 70s

Always loved that solo! Great job! Saved me the job of learning loL! Always thought The Knack got a bad rap, could have been so much more.

The best tone of these videos because it's being played on a Les Paul.
Yeeah🤟
Cmon buddy, your too good of a guitarist to have stickers on a guitar like that
You played it better than the guy from the knack
Bad Ass!!!!!
👊🎭
Sweet ! Now I need to go change my pants....
I hear a lot of people fudge up the little 00:59 lick. You nailed it👍🏼
Great job!! Is the iso track avail?
What effects did you use? You didn’t have enough sustain to hold that high note?
00:46

Ça me rappelle la version de Mickaël Youn 🤣
メインボーカルの人、亡くなってしまったんですよね。
残念です。
Era tocar la guitarra no hacerla cantar de emoción!!!...jajaja
1:16 your only mistake was to play with this strange tempo, you should play off the snare
Shit song but superb solo. Nice
gotta give a mention for that awesome bass at the very beginning..
