Combat tree provides something unique to all other miniature games I have played. This alone makes for something exciting to jump into with the new game. Great vid.
I’m super excited about the combat tree! Such a unique mechanic! I always love to see a game try an alternative to just dice rolling, I can’t wait to actually give it a shot!
I absolutely love the combat tree system! It adds so much life to the game and each tree feels like the character which is a great touch. And with primary characters getting double sided ones adds a great tactical element to the game.
I love the combat tree design - very reminiscent of guild ball playbooks (which was an awesome design). It'll be really interesting to see how far AMG push the boundaries on these to make characters "feel" like they should. Great content as always, many thanks 😊
The combat tree is the best thing about the core game play. It brings a unique feel to each character that also allows the player to feel as if they have some control in each attack. It's so much better than my 5 dice vs your 3.
The combat trees are what made me start to pay attention to this game. They have the opportunity to add a lot of interesting choices for players to make and I'm very excited to try them out!
I love the versatility of the combat tree. It makes another excellent layer of strategic decision making, so even with my abysmal dice rolls i can find success!
I love the idea of the combat tree its always nice to have variety in the characters playstyles. Really looking forward to have a team focused on controlling the battlefield!
I love the idea of the combat tree. I think it will bring some real flavour to games. And it can be so good to help with situations, maybe more then just dishing out damage.
Thanks for clarifying some stuff on the combat tree. I think it’s a pretty awesome take on combat. I also like that the primaries have 2 different ones since they have 2 stances.
Coming from MCP and just chucking Dice will be an adjustment to the Combat Tree. It might take some time to get used to, but learning any new game comes with a learning curve.
I LOVE the combat tree. It adds a little something more than just rolling dice. There will be a lot of strategy when it comes to the combat tree and deciding which path to go down.
The combat tree is, without a doubt, my single favorite element to the game. It drips theme and truly looks like it'll make you feel like you're actually duelling.
I love the combat tree! It is like guild ball but even more dynamic. Since you can't wrap, like you could in guild ball, it also prevents it from being too broken. I also like how the expertise play a role in the attack the the target's defense rolls. Overall very interesting and dynamic design.
I think it's an amazing aspect that adds a lot of depth to rolling combat dice, something that usually is simple in minis games. I could see it adding a lot of complexity for people who are more just breaking the game out once every 3 or 4 months on their kitchen table, but otherwise it's great.
I think the combat trees Sound like a great idea and are a cool way to introduce more desiscions in combat. Also seems like a nice way to give each character some identity
I played a good amount of Arena Rex, so I'm more than familiar with resolving successes on a combat tree haha. I'll just have to get used to all of the different icons!
Think it is a great idea and I'm surprised it has been used before in other games I have played. Will be fun seeing how it interacts with the figure in practice as well.
Its a very interesting mechanic and is what's drawing me to the game along with the victory conditions. Its very similar to Guild Ball ( for those who remember that )
The combat tree is certainly unique. I haven’t playtested them yet, but I imagine they are going to create lots of cinematic moments. Those are the reason why I fell in love with tabletop games and the lack thereof played a huge part in leaving 40k behind 😊
I think the combat tree is an interesting idea. It helps to differentiate the game from other basic damage things like MCP. Hopefully it will be some a good mechanic.
Combat tree is the second most dynamic and unique thing about Shatterpoint. Especially on the primary characters who have two stances for a variation in the combat trees.
It’s going to add a lot of depth and tension to each turn. I may need a stress ball on the table for those less than impressive dice rolls…. (Or my opponents better ones!)
I'm actually quite excited for Shatterpoint just because of the different combat trees. They sound like they should add a dynamic and flavourful element to combat.
I like the combat tree. Once again coming from MCP it can get complicated with some characters attack profile to remember everything or time everything efficiently. With this style once dice are rolled, everything is right there. Just follow the path. I feel it cleans combat up in regards to MCP.
It's a great idea and looks like it will make the game a bit more frenetic and swingy. I can also see how this will be extremely frustrating for new players (myself included) and might create difficulties getting new players in?
At first I didn't like the look or idea of the combat tree. It looked confusing and complicated. However, having now seen how it works, it actually looks really fun to use.
I think the combat tree is great. Much different than the I roll you roll system with other games. That being said, it will take a few games to get the hang of it.
The combat tree feels like it's dynamic and will also offer what feels like limitless variety 😊 the tug of war that is the game scoring system is another thing askin to this.
I feel like it’s very unique to this game. Given how different it is I feel like it could be awesome or a complete flop for onboarding new players to the game (on paper it doesn’t look super intuitive to pick up without someone explaining it to you IMO).
I think the combat tree is going to really slow down the pace of the game at the beginning and for whichever new characters come in, but I am excited to see it in action once the paths become second nature.
As others have said, the combat tree gives each character a better feel of the character opposed to just here is damage and here's my defense. Lord Maul actually looks like he would be this crazy I'm going to hurt your character, but a light side character fells like I don't want to hurt you, I want you away from my team.
Ive heard people complain that the combat tree is going to slow the game down. I dont agree with that though. One we get used to it i feel like itll be secont nature.
Combat tree provides something unique to all other miniature games I have played. This alone makes for something exciting to jump into with the new game. Great vid.
I really like the combat tree. It definitely adds another level of depth to the game. Fantastic overview, sir
The combat tree is a very innovative system that splashes the flavor of each unique character of the star wars universe
I’m super excited about the combat tree! Such a unique mechanic! I always love to see a game try an alternative to just dice rolling, I can’t wait to actually give it a shot!
I love how dynamic and thematic the combat tree is. Being able to pepper in different effects that make sense for the character is so good!

Great video once again Rich! Combat tree is awesome, feels really thematic.
The combat tree is going to add an amazing dimension to this game and give each unit a really unique feel.
I'm a big fan of the combo trees, like that you've got options.. gives the game a bit more variety!
I love the versatility of the combat tree. It makes another excellent layer of strategic decision making, so even with my abysmal dice rolls i can find success!
Love the feel of the combat tree, very thematic

The combat tree is the most exciting aspect of the game for me, I really like the emphasis on player choice

I’m loving the combat tree, much more interesting than just straight damage. Also it allows characters to be more unique and thematic
I love how they can capture a character’s personality with these combat trees.
I think the combat trees Sound like a great idea and are a cool way to introduce more desiscions in combat.

These are, and will be, helpful once the game drops. Love the rule that conditions won't stack multiple but instead add a damage.
I'm looking forward to learning how to use the combat tree. I need to use it to learn it and I'm pretty new to skirmish games.
Its a very interesting mechanic and is what's drawing me to the game along with the victory conditions. Its very similar to Guild Ball ( for those who remember that )

Combat trees bring options and more choices to combat. Gotta love that.
I am looking forward to using the combat tree. I think it really looks cool.
The tree seems like a cool idea. I'm interested to see how each character's tree affects how they feel to play.

looking at the trees I love the variety and decisions that are made mid combat. It should give a lot more variety to gameplay.
Combat tree seems interesting never seen it before in a tabletop game this will be my first table top game I get excited for it to be released
Nice way to even out the random nature of dice game
I think the combat trees are pretty cool and unique. I think it will be a little complicated at first but in the end easier than MCP dice rolling.
I'm actually quite excited for Shatterpoint just because of the different combat trees. They sound like they should add a dynamic and flavourful element to combat.
I think it’s a good way to give characters that little bit more flavor to represent them and how they play
I like the combat tree. Once again coming from MCP it can get complicated with some characters attack profile to remember everything or time everything efficiently. With this style once dice are rolled, everything is right there. Just follow the path. I feel it cleans combat up in regards to MCP.

I’m excited that the trees will hopefully stop crazy high rolling as they are capped on damage
Looks exciting to me
can you execute a shove and not push away but still pull yourself towards? so closing the gap without pushing the enemy???
Combat trees look to give you some flexibility in your damage, it’s an interesting idea.
At first I didn't like the look or idea of the combat tree. It looked confusing and complicated. However, having now seen how it works, it actually looks really fun to use.

Combat looks great.
The combat True is really cool!
The combat tree is weird and i love it. Cant wait to cripple people with asajj lol
I think the combat tree was an excellent use of their complexity budget.
Where did you find the digital copies of the stance cards?
From AMG’s transmissions on their website
I feel like it’s very unique to this game. Given how different it is I feel like it could be awesome or a complete flop for onboarding new players to the game (on paper it doesn’t look super intuitive to pick up without someone explaining it to you IMO).
Certainly is different. Need to see it in action.
I think the combat tree is going to really slow down the pace of the game at the beginning and for whichever new characters come in, but I am excited to see it in action once the paths become second nature.
Love them
As others have said, the combat tree gives each character a better feel of the character opposed to just here is damage and here's my defense.
Lord Maul actually looks like he would be this crazy I'm going to hurt your character, but a light side character fells like I don't want to hurt you, I want you away from my team.

The issue will be all the overly complicated mechanics working together. I'm still excited for the game, but there is a lot of unnecessary complexity.
Compared to MCP this will be way more straight forward.
@brad Definitely easier to grok than MCP. I also appreciate the simplified objectives as opposed to MCP.
