    I can't speak to ammo, but I will say that the new Timney trigger is a complete game changer. I originally had a Yo Dave trigger spring in my CZ and while that was better than stock, The trigger still didn't break as cleanly as I liked. The Timney I installed in my CZ 457 adjusted lighter than the 10 ounces the specs stated and didn't slam fire while closing the bolt or bump fire while lightly bumping the butt of the rifle on a carpeted floor.

    I have this same rifle and have gotten good results from Norma tac-22 as a easier to find cheap(er) option than match grade stuff. Norma rimfire is made by RWS - the same ammo your rifle was tested with at CZ. Nice video!

    Niiiiiiiiice!!!! I need one!!!! I just picked up a 457 varmint AT-ONE with the 24" barrel. I wanted the 16.5 but pretty much all CZ 457s here in Western Kentucky are unobtainium. I have only been able to test 1 box of match ammo and it is Lapua Center X. I Have tried CCI Standard velocity, CCI Mini Mag round nose, Aguila super xtra, Federal champion, Winchester M22, Eley Target, and Norma Tac 22. Of course all the ammo between 1000-1100fps were most accurate but to my surprise the Norma Tac 22 has so far produced the best and most consistent groups 🤷 as far as the high velocity stuff the aguila super xtra had the most accurate and consistent groups 🤷 I've never shot any match grade ammo so when I spent the $20 plus shipping on the Lapua Center X I had high hopes lol I guess I should be happy that the Norma Tac 22 which was $8.99 a box shot the best. I look forward to testing some other high end ammo like Eley match and Eley tenex, SK, etc. But I am happy with the Norma for practice. It shot 1/2" 5 shot groups and under all day at 50 yards for 3 shooters. Great video! I wish I could have got that model!! Try some Norma Tac 22 👍 im sure there will be many people say its not great but for my rifle it shot tighter groups than the CCI standard velocity and Lapua lol 🙃 I will be practicing with it exclusively in my rig and also hunting.

    • @Moondog2A
      @Moondog2A  2 года назад

      I just picked up 2 boxes of Tac 22 today actually. Lucky to find it. 22LR selection at my local gun stores has been horrible. Did you have to run many rounds of Tac 22 through your barrel before the groups tightened up? Was the Aguila SupEx HV or SV?

    • @preyingmathis2517
      @preyingmathis2517 2 года назад +1

      @@Moondog2A I ran 15 rounds of Norma to warm up the bore before I started on paper for groups. The Aguila was high velocity 1255fps 40gr copper plated round nose. It wasn't spectacular or anything but out of all the high velocity stuff I tried It was the most consistent and accurate. I was consistently getting four shots within a 1/2" to 3/4" with 1 flyer in each group that turned the groups into 1 in groups at 50 yards. The Norma I was getting all five shots within 1/2-3/4" at 50 yards. I was lucky that day there was basically zero wind. Surprising to me the Lapua center x box I got was getting me 1" groups at 50. Now I know people get really into it and do lot testing to get the best lot but at $20 per box I expected it to perform better than the Norma lol 🤷

      @@Moondog2A yes I've been looking for that sv Aguila here but no luck 😔 never tried it before. I literally just got into "accurate .22lrs" and never knew anything about using standard velocity ammo and now that im looking for any brand in standard velocity the options are very limited lol here in western KY all I can find right now is Norma, for some reason the market is flooded with it here. No CCI standard anywhere but one of my local gun stores does have a bunch of Eley Target yellow box but it doesn't do as good as the Norma for me.

    • @Moondog2A

      @@preyingmathis2517 Norma Tac22 is the only Norma 22LR ammo I can find in any quantity in my local stores here in CA. But prior to COVID I never saw that particular variety of Norma (or never noticed it?) The only other Norma I've seen is non-lead hyper-velocity Norma ECO but those non-lead ammo are crap for accuracy and hella expensive ($16/50rnds!). The only reason they made it is because of namby-pamby CA hunting laws banning the use of lead bullets.

    Great shooting Moondog. That was pretty impressive right out of the box / not cleaning the barrel. I bought the same model CZ 457 Precision Varmint Chassis but just didn't have the time to set it up. A beginner in the 22LR precision shooting & just installed a 30 MOA Area 419 scope base on the dove tail & a Magpul Bipod. My scope is a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 X 40 dead hold BDC. I figure start low & see how I like shooting. Recently retired & my eyesight is not great. I can see a scope upgrade in my future if things progress. Your groups were pretty tight for changing a magazine every 5 shots.
