  • I’m Still looking for ways to get rid of it. I wash it every chance I get and make sure I keep it moisturized but nothing seems to be working. Anyways, enjoy.
UPDATE 11/23: he is allergic to coconut oil and I've been slathering him down with it since birth. I stopped using it and the flakes went away temporarily but they are back.

Sweetie, he's only 8 weeks old you say, then please don't use that old adult comb on his head. He's a brand new baby, & he needs a brand new baby comb & brush for his hair. If that old comb isn't clean enough for him, pitch it. You have to protect your baby mom. By the way, it's also too rough for his head, be gentle. Just saying because I care.

Instead of criticism why not offer some decent advice? Ok here is the deal. I’m a mom of 4 and grandma of 8 going on 9! First, I want to applaud this mom for getting that nasty crap off of her beautiful child’s head. It’s unsightly and if left untreated can cause hair loss, itching, and ruin those precious baby pics that only come around once. Doctors will tell you it’s harmless and will, go away on its own. Don’t believe that crap. By the time it goes away, if it ever does, your baby will look like a lizard. No smiles and cooing over your baby from strangers. All you will get is stares. Second: babies turn red on the scalp when you use ANY brush or comb. Their scalps and skins in general are sensitive, but the scalp is tougher than you might think. Third: true, the comb has seen better days but it’s not like she is scratching the child’s scalp with one of those wire brushes a lot of guys keep in their shops and garages! Fourth: find a comb with very tiny teeth. Cover baby’s head with pure virgin coconut oil, olive oil, or generally any cooking oil. Lol 😝 Put on a little hat and
the next morning remove the cap and wash baby’s hair with SULFATE FREE shampoo. Don’t be afraid to scrub firmly but gently. You can find little round or rectangle brushes for this in the baby section at WalMart. Even a soft toothbrush can work. Shea Moisture is a good shampoo. (I’m Caucasian and use ethnic products in my hair. It’s very long now, past my butt). Good shampoo and diet make a world of difference for everybody’s skin and hair.). After shampooing, use your fine tooth comb to get under the scales and lift them off the scalp. Let hair dry and comb out any stray flakes. Repeat each night until you have slain that Cradle Crap. Repeat when needed.
    ✌🏼AM

I’m like 5 years late so I’m sure this baby has outgrown it by now lol BUT for future reference for anyone with an infant/toddler with seborrheic dermatitis aka cradle cap, use a lice comb or a comb with very small teeth. It’s more effective, quicker, and actually feels so relieving to the baby. Remember that seborrheic dermatitis is not painful, but incredibly itchy. So don’t be afraid to get in there real good and clean all that out.

Try putting some olive oil in his hair when you put him in his bath. Wash him up and let it sit when your done take a baby brush or tooth brush and gently brush his scalp in a circular motion to lift it up. Rinse then you can add a little more oil if you feel his scalp is still dry. Try not to use the baby wipes it’s probably irritating his skin and making his scalp more dry. Good luck 🖤

We use coconut oil & it's comes right up but her scalp gets red cause her father was using a comb & his finger. Some doctors suggest to use coconut oil so I don't think it's too strong for a baby scalp and hair.

Adam’s absolutely beautiful; What a gorgeous boy! I can certainly understand why he’s scratching nonstop to get rid of the itch. Have you tried WebMD? If not there, find an online Pediatrician. Head & Shoulders is designed for exactly this type of problem, maybe just a tad worked into his hair and scalp during a bath, even one time could offer him some relief from the incessant torment of the itching! Good Mamma; you’ll find something that works. (Why can’t you use a very gentle baby shampoo daily when he has a bath? Babies are not just tiny adults, and their skin and hair are different at this age from yours. If you only wash your hair once or twice a week it’s different as adult shampoo is much harsher and drying than shampoos formulated for infants. I would want to err on the side of a daily shampoo for Adam when he has his regular bath and if you feel his scalp is too dry then add an oil treatment. I don’t think cradle cap is the result of over-dry scalp. Whatever you do, blessings to you both!😊🙏🏼💕
