The Big Difference - Cost of Living

We’re fortunate to have many projects in Southampton that help people with food; from places serving free hot meals, pay as you feel cafes, food banks, pantries and so much more.
The Big Difference is a food redistribution project that works with charities and community groups in Southampton. Run by volunteers and backed by Above Bar Church, it one of the biggest outreach projects in the city, with more than £2million worth of food given out to date to the most vulnerable.
With 60 partnerships across the city and supporting over 100 communities, we visited the Big Difference to see how this vital work helps struggling families and people facing food poverty, especially during the Cost of Living crisis.
