'dandan' means 'more and more' but Miku is playing with it and extending it to the catchy hook 'dandan di di dandan' , she is clever and inventive in the way she plays with both English and Japanese in the lyric writing.
From Japan Many overseas fans consider Saiki's vocals to be part of the instrument, and say they can't concentrate on the song when looking at the lyrics. I think that's fine. Many Japanese people enjoy watching movies and dramas while reading subtitles. Reading is not painful. If you know the content of the song and the lyricist Kobato, you can feel the song even more deeply. Thank you for talking about poetry.
Dan dan di di dan dan. Little by little. Miku, who started the band, writes the lyrics, the philosophy is hers. Watch the bio video about her and also the rest of the members and you might be even more impressed./
It seems like the context is the band being restricted from performances or even rehearsals during covid isolation. They released this as they were resuming touring after about two and a half years, just before traveling to the U.S. after three years. To say they were wound up would be selling it short!
Dan Dan Ditti Dan Dan = Little by Little in an upward fashion or Gradually Referring to their progress with their quest for World Domination and not being frustrated with your own progress.
Welcome to the temple of Dandan Didi Dandan(no meaning just chosen for the sounds) 😆 they play usually sets of 18-30 songs during their live performances. Have to catch your breath when they do their MC times
Hey boyo fine reaction, it's your good cousin Paddy O'Furniture here to tell ya, keep at it your channel is going well. The GOAT of Japanese music. Aye, but let me fix that a wee bit fer ya. The GOAT of hard rock currently with world Domination getting closer by the day. I do agree with you I 've always like to hear the album songs first then live for comparison. Not needed with Band Maid of course as the live songs are always better because these ladies are like audience vampires sucking in the energy but unlike bad vampires they return it sevenfold ( unAvenged though lol ). Live songs suggestions: Moratorium, Real Existence, Non-fiction Days, Secret My Lips to see how friggin awesome they were ever 7-8 yrs ago. Puzzle, Domination, Freedom more recent
They used to look more like Maids, but look at their outfit (or uniform) now...there's only one proper maid left. Akane is hybrid of maid, gorilla and human. Mincho is an ex maid, who recently joined her goth sisters.
@@stevehall5128 I didn't even know they wore horse outfit until you mentioned it. 😂 But with the name like Band-Maid you'd imagine them wearing uniform like Miku does, don't you? and until you see them with your eyes that'd be what you imagine what they look like...
"Dan dan Di di Dan dan" is just a sense. No meaning. Miku can write both literary lyrics and easy-to-listen, meaningless lyrics that fit into the melody.
Dan Dan だんだん in Japanese means gradually or "little by little," Po! Di di, I suppose is what you say is "meaningless lyrics that fit into the melody." Therefore, Band Maid, at the release of this original MV, was ready to Dan Dan di di Dan Dan resume "World Domination." 🦍🍌
@@JK-tz6kk Thank you for your reply! As a Japanese person, I am happy to see the interest of foreigners. As you say, "Dan Dan" also has the meaning of "little by little", but the reason why they wrote it as "Dan Dan" instead of writing it in Japanese may have been to create a double meaning. I think it's popular outside of Japan as well, and the theme song for Dragon Ball GT, "Dan Dan 心惹かれてく" is a song that combines the pleasantness of the catchy sound of Dan Dan with meaning.
@@dulcim89 Nice to know. As a Japanese American (Issei) from LA, I missed everything you said after double meaning, lol! I'm from the 1960's Okinawa/Amami Oshima understanding of Japanese culture and language. If not for Band Maid, I would have cared less about my Japanese heritage. I must now delve into the mind of the Hato and learn of this Dragon Ball GT, Po! サンキュー

Just wait until you can see this entire almost 4 hour long concert! It's just this powerful all the way to the end!!

10 years and 120+ songs of pure greatness 🔥❤️🤘 Magical band. Amazing musicians, humble humans. Easily best liveband out there 🔥🤘
AWESOME TO SEE NEW MUSIC!!
THIS IS EPIC!!
'The Drummer must be completely exhausted' - Akane was fine, just another 25 songs to go although she did get a 3 song break lol
WOW! What a beast!!
The best live rock band on the planet...maybe ever.

In Japanese, we say “stairs”階段 (KAIDAN), “階(KAI)” means floor and “段(DAN)” means Step, so “DANDAN” means “gradually”. I think
Dan Dan Di Di Dan Dan, maybe the Maids like Steely Dan, one of my all time favorites beside Band-Maid 🙂😅😂
If you use their official You Tube channel they never block it.

BTW, no need to play with the videos of official BAND-MAID. After all, they were made by the internet, so they are cool with reactions.

I mean Band of Horses haven't worn horse costumes in a long time either
