- 1992 sketch from the Australian comedy series Fast Forward - a parody of the talent show New Faces, hosted by Bert Newton. Contestants Michelle & Ferret from the Western Suburbs show their brand new dance routine.
Id forgotten these two until just now. Friggin hilarious.
2023 and this show still out performing any garbage tv on today. This scene has been on my mind for days now
One of the best and funniest clips I remember from the show! Still cracks me up!!!
RIP BURT best video I can think of to remember the legacy he left
Bert*
I can assure you Geelong had identical people....loved 'em :)
HILARIOUS! I was just watching the great doco footage of Sharpies in Melbourne from the early 70's. That existed as Melbourne folklore for so long, and by this time seemed so far in the past...this though, seems like moments ago. Time is speeding up!
The way Magda runs over to the judges is soooo funny.
I learnt all my dance moves from ferret. Thanks man! 🕺👍
Oh man Iol haha I haven't seen this in so long I'm 37 and remember watching fast forward when I was a kid. classic stuff lol
Amazing, takes me back to the 70's . Sharpies, Skinheads. Gangs everywhere.
Bert Newton was absolutely hilarious
Ha ha ha! Love this! Someone post more Michelle and Ferret videos please.
you dropped your winfield reds haha
I’m only here because there’s an Instagram reel of this very sketch and it was too funny! I’m glad I did!!!
Love the Head Butt!! hahaha
Brilliant choice of music. Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker Suite. Bogans and Classical music.
but who made this remix?
Sharpies, dear.
Not quite bogans.
SHARPIES!! The only truly unique Australian youth sub-culture. All fashion is cyclical so it's bound to come back.
I think it may be back. Lotta ferrety blokes with mullets around
Yeah after a few more decades of lockdown to "flatten the curve."
Pretty sure they migrated from the UK
@@zapkvr Nup. It's the one truly original Australian sub-culture. Plus possibly our surfing culture,
Every Australian youth sub-culture throughout the decades has genuinely taken some of their fashion inspiration from other youth sub-cultures overseas, to some degree.
We see what they have, then end up adding our own little twists to them. So they're not entirely uniquely Australian.
Hahaha I absolutely love the moves Magda pulls and this part.... 0:33 hahahahahah legendary dance move. I'm gonna go to a club one day and dance like this hahah
michelle has that sharpie dance down pat!
dji zzah
Maybe that's because she was a Sharpie in her younger days 😜👍
So was the guy who played Ferret.
You can see him in the clip getting around on YT, of Sharpies at the Myer Music Bowl, listening to Eagle Rock by Daddy Cool in 1975.
this is GOLD.
Please bring back Fast Forward #2015
Matthew Pitcher they have. It is now called Open Slather.
Rosie Summer OMG REALLY!?!?!?!?!?
Yes. It has new comedians but a few from Fast Forward (All the female cast of Fast Forward is on the show)
Open Slather was totally crap, compared to Fast Forward.
That's why it didn't last long.
I agree.
The political correctness Nazis would murder this show before it got off the ground if you tried to do half the jokes they used to back then.
The more you watch, the funnier it gets...
Great stuff so funny😆😊😊😆😆😅
This is hilarious.
Comedy gold 👍
Still breaks me 😂😂😂😂😂
The kids around Broadmeadows used to dress like that !
Sharpies! I still dance like that...
Yep that's still Footscray!
Back when funny was funny
this is classic... Magda certainly has the moves down tight... as a young kid i seen townie chicks doing variations of this style in the mid 70's. seemed to be an offshoot of the glam/jive era... was crazy seeing a bunch of weird chicks with sharpie hair and connie going off like this, and occasionally some of the guys would join in... platform headbeaters were all the rage which made sharps look hilarious when they tried to run after victims... then harder punk and slam dancing arrived.
Love it - What are you looking at.....
I'll never be able to listen to sugar plum fair again. You know they really do have the moves.
Brilliant! 😆
So good, again! Classic video. This should always be available to watch.
Content 8/10
Quality 10/10.
Keep up the good work
Australia had the best comedy tv back in the day. It got replaced with stupid reality shows. BRING BACK FAST FORWARD!
Amazing! i love these girls!
Scott Waterson
Girls? 🤣
I so remember the dance moves!
Love this - was the.second judge meant to be Athol Guy?
Yes think so
Ferret was known as Sparrow the street fighter
Love it 😅😅😊😊😆
Wow, I must have watched this video hundreds of times and I only just noticed the Winnie Reds in her pocket... Duh!
Classic.
SHARPIES!!!
Where can I download this sugar plum fairy remix?!
I yearn! I yearn!
Magda. You were so full of energy and so pretty. Should have kept it up even behind closed doors. I think you're still a stunner now
Who is the actor that played Ferret? He was a great actor and to keep a straight face :/
Alan Petland
I like to laugh!
They now live in Newtown
Is that a pack of winnies in Michelle's pocket?
Someones spiked my drink, WTF Sharpies ??Ferret dancing ??
I swear you literally see people dancing like this at your local Aussie bogan pub, usually on the nights where it's for older people.
sad my parents still dance like them
headbutt!
Whats the song Michelle & Ferret dancing to?
sharpies! ha ha
@MRMILO57 Thatsa no how you prunounce itsa Footz-cry
LOL
Sharps were from the Northern suburbs
They were in the west too! I was scared of them when I was a kid!
sharpies lingo--you wanna fight !
2nd info--you gave me cheek the other day-which leads into a fight...
yes, television was entertaining once upon a time.
Anyone have a link to that video?
Go to the ‘share’ feature under the clip & you can send the link on.
Still Frankston in 2011. rotflmao
Sharpies dance of the 50s
Try 70's. Sharpies weren't around in the 50's. They were bodgies and widgies and their fashion was different.
Hahahahahaa bloody love Magna
She's not a car 😂😂
Omg heheh !
yay for the 90's and for Bogans lol
Another one who is a tad confused.
Sharpies.
They are not quite bogans.
There's a difference.
Sharpes and bogans are totally different.
They may share a few minor similarities. But Sharpes were much more of a unique, individual sub-culture, fearless and so on.
Bogans come in many forms. And are a dime a dozen these days.
Furlough!!
Oh thank god that’s over!!!!
LOL!!
haha
🤣😅👍
Kawasaki2148 I doubt it

🐣🤳🌏🙄👍
Scary thing is Magda ‘Give me more Weight Watchers sponsorship money’ hasn’t improved her looks.
Says the loser hiding behind a picture of a crappy Corolla. 🤣🤣
It's a shame such a talented comedienne had become a humorless activist.
Oh boo hoo for you.
It's a shame that some people can't just watch a video and show some love and respect, without them being being offended and throwing out a derogatory slur.
it's a shame how such a twat thinks his opinion matters -bye snowflake
Magdas gone funny -ironically.
@@ozlass7778 awwww did a nasty comment Get made about your hero and didums bottom lip started to quiver?
@@xr6lad
More like ozlass's comment has offended you because she's right. 🤣 So many people now can't just have a laugh at things like this on YT, without always needing to have a big old whinge against someone in the video or bleating against the pc brigade. Ironically, the biggest whiners are the ones complaining more than the pc brigade.
...how depressing!
SKOTP69
If your life is depressing, maybe you should get off the internet and get out more often, dear. 😜
