I always love to hear the sound of that 2 stroke detroit. Sometimes i'll just put on 2 stroke noise just to listen to. They were the best engine ever made in their class.
Nice bit of sawmanship on😮 these two logs. As usual, it's good to see everything working and sounding good. Hank is doing a right good job in the back office, and alas no ZZ. He must be busy with other things. Stay safe, happy, healthy, and I hope are well.

Seems like the two Frick mills here, Jason's and the Scalawag flat belt mill have the disc/wheel and both work(ed) just fine. NICE sawing so happy weekend and God Bless Yall
This is the first time I've commented but have been watching your videos for several months now. Just for the record I live in a rural part of the Puget Sound in Washington State. As a kid many years ago dad was a logger and also worked in mills from time to time so watching these videos takes me back in time of the 19 forties and fifties.
Half past eight at night there’s some nice colour in them boards , think I’m starting to enjoy this retirement going round a super market at dinner time is like wacky races, and I’ve discovered some otters not far from me mother and two young ones sat and watched them for half an hour I think there living on the military site behind me last ones I seen was over thirty years ago where I used to live , anyway you guys have a nice day
It looks pretty warm indeed. Grandpa says buzz those up quick and then go into the shade for lemonade. Sure is looking like pretty lumber for certain. Grandpa said his brother was good at making curio cabinets and he really valued that ambrosia maple. I guess it really looked good with carnival glass windows.
That is some really pretty wood. I don't remember ever seeing that type of wood before. I know there are a lot of things I haven't seen. But I'm open minded enough to learn.
That's fantastic, like the hydraulic or spring "L" arms to push wood perfectly back straight So lock pin arms hold it in place AAA good job chewy doing better Not tearing up wood Seems fixed 👍 that wood you cut was So nice that could be " Beer" bar 👍 that's talkable piece wood Good job 👏 AAA
Good looking maple mark. Today I sawed hard maple and there was a few worm holes from ambrosia beetle just starting. Also I noticed when you were edging and putting the lumber on sticks the 9 ft boards. You should move that stick closer to the end of the board you will get less split when it drys
I cut a white mulberry yesterday to open the garden up for my wife's iris garden. It was a male tree, and never had any mulberries on it. It took me a little while to figure out what it was. I had to do a search for the leaves. It seems the white mulberry trees can have lobbed and serrated leaves on the same twig.

When you load or turn a log the carriage sure does bounce around. It makes me wonder how the machine is able to keep accurate cuts. Do the dog bite close up as the wood dries???? Those bugs do a lot of damage. Good to see you.

I’m a country guy but I never imagined watching logs being sawed would be so entertaining ! I guess it’s akin to nosing a construction site.

yes Friday eve , we are in the low 80s here.
You could put it back...... but it would require a lot of wood glue 😂
very true lol.
Or just run the video in reverse lol.
I love having ambrosia salad with oranges and marshmallows, but your ambrosia maple wouldn’t be as tasty 😂
it may be a bit tough lol.

Hi Mark! is this lumber the same as spalted maple? Will you be doing the mill work for your son? Looking good! That edger with the laser sure is a great idea... Ron...
thanks Ron , this is caused by the ambrosia Beetle.
Just curious why folks don’t saw right through the center? Is it weaker or something?
❤
thank you.
You never know what the log's dreams are. Maybe it dreams of becoming a beautiful piece of furniture.
thanks Mark , great comment.
What does scalded maple like that sell for just wondering in case I go looking
this is ambrosia maple , it can get over $5.00 a board foot
They were victims in the forest. You're just the undertaker.😂😂
I don't think let's put the first body on the cradle would get past you tube censors😂
I like it lol!
You need to make some bowl blanks .
I needed all of this for trim.
How can you tell its an ambrosia log before cutting it?
you can see the stain in the end of the log.
@@markgalicic7788 Aah...the end grain sealer covers that up on a video.
Boom, have a great weekend everybody 😎
thanks Mark.
Where is ZZ? I miss his 'Prison Shiv Show, Poke & Tell' (Snitch) segments on these Fri evening videos
he is at the cloud factory.
@@markgalicic7788 What's a PA 'cloud factory'? ZZ is out laying low in a field evaporating? What does the cloud factory make besides humidity?
how can you tell from the outside of the log that the beetle has gotten into it?
How do you know it's ambrosia before sawing?
the stain on the end of the log.
I guess that your son will just give it a Clear Coat ? So nothing is lost.
I will plane and sand it then spray it with lacquer .
Before your video started there was an ad from Kamala asking for money.

yes silver maple is soft maple.
Is Maple good for Stickers ? Or not.
yes it is great for stickers.
How hot does it need to get so we can see Eddie in his speedo ?
it can't get hot enough lol!
Hey Mark, try doner instead of victim. Maybe that will quiet the haters.
or just victims.
To long to short what ever you made it. Should the paint be wearing off if it's doing its job?
true.
Love your videos BUT to SHORT. PLEASE MAKE AN HOUR or MORE LONGER. THANKS GUYS.
thank you , check out some of our old videos when we just got this mill running.
Probably not my business but are you gonna make t n g with this maple
trim for my sons basement.
😛😛😛😛😛😛❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
thanks Charles.
Why is this different than normal maple?
it gets eaten by the ambrosia beetle and this causes the staining.
I was too close to the screen and got some sawdust in my eyes 😁
good one lol.
Don't let Sammy the Safety Gnome hear you didn't have your safety squints on, my man.
Mark, you really shouldn't think of those "victims" as victims... Instead, think of those logs as beginning a whole new lifestyle....
Maybe “Volunteers” ?
@@quintinstephens2573 Right ! Stepping up for duty !
Is this stuff worth more or less than normal soft maple?
yes it's worth more money .
You don’t say “doggies up, doggies out, doggies down” too much. I get a kick out of that.
