Yess :)
You have a great way of presenting and producing quality content! Finally an Indian design channel that's world class in standard. Good luck and keep up the good work!
Thanks a ton
In its short existence in my life , Your channel has been so supportive of my design career even before it officially begins.
You always stress on being rational and reasoning out one's choices, which is exactly what I ve been telling myself since ages.
Keep doing what you do.
Thanks a lot, Manpreet! Comments like these really motivate me to keep creating content for you all :)
Searching two days back on google how to redesign UX portfolio, got suggested from youtube later today. Thanks Sapta for putting it in a concise way :)
Happy to help, Yanni :)
I loved the movie analogy. Your analogies are the best. I think analogies are the most efficient way to learn because it's easily retained in memory, and you nail it always. Way to go, Sapta!
Thank you, Akshata :) Yes, I too feel analogies are the best way to teach anything. The things in my life which I know really well, were taught to me using analogies.
UX of the UX portfolio 🙌
That's greattt sir! I have always been thinking about it and when I learnt from you that this is an actual thing, I'm really glad...Thanks for the superb knowledge 😊
My pleasure, Uttara :)
Found you through Twitter and I am glad about it. Thank you Sapta, for sharing this with us. This was really helpful!
Glad it was helpful, Riddhi :)
I truly feel your channel is not getting the fame it truly deserves. You r content is extraordinary! Keep it coming
All the RIGHT questions are answered!!.. The UX of your videos is amazing!
Thank you :)
The analogy "the end" With design portfolio is sooo spot on!! 👌😂
I love the way you have done your own branding - the details and consistency on every platform you are on.
Thanks for the informative content! Your knowledge and confidence are amazing.
This is good stuff. Would love to share this with Delhi/NCR UX design community.
Looking forward to more videos like this 😊.
Thank you, Rahul 🙂🙌
Hey Rahul. How can I be a part of this community?
How do you join this community?
Awesome... I'm beginner to UI-UX... working on building my portfolio and your videos are inspiring. I was a developer for 4 years and decided to take up this for the rest of my life.
That's awesome, Hemant! All the best :)
@@saptarshipr Thank you so much 😊
Quite precise timing sapta. It's almost time people starts apply. Really appreciate your thoughts.
Thank you, Rishabh :) Glad to know that I made it on time :D
I remember asking you the question regarding the same topic few days back & voila... here comes the video...Thank you :) Mind Reader..

You're welcome, Prateek :)
Crisp & On point..Sapta.

Thank you, Raj 🙂
Thanks for this video Sapta 🔥🔥
Hey Sapta,
This is awesome! Bang on. I was looking for something on these lines to work on my UI/UX portfolio.
You have done full justice to the title of your video here :)
Thank you so much for all the tips. Its of great help.
You dropped this at the right time bang on, that pending portfolio task is all fired up now. Thanks!
Ha ha.. Hope you find this useful :)
'UX of your UX Portfolio' & 'Understanding the User (recruiter)' 👌🏼. Thanks for the video!
Hey ! This is shyam .
I am starting my career in this ux ui design and learning from the scratch doing online courses , watching youtube videos but I didn't have a clear idea of what exactly a portfolio or a casestudy mean for a uxui design job , but after watching your video I got a clear IDEA about it , because the way u explained with the example is absolutely phenomenal and PLEASE DO MORE SUCH CONTENT and help us out becoming a UXUI designer .
ONCE AGAIN THANKS FOR THE VIDEOS YOUR UPLOADING.
Woww.. Again one boost up video for me. Could you pickup one mockup portfolio and explain little bit how to we start and end for new beginners.
Yes, I think I should do that. Many people have also reached out saying that they find it hard to find a problem for mock projects. I ll try and cover all these things.
What the hell, how can someone dislike this video? #RESPECT #theArtist @saptarshipr you're amazin' 🤩✏️🌱
Thank you, Prakash :)
Excellent! Extremely comprehensive👍🏾. Thanks so much
I am not a designer of any class, nor that I know what UX means. I am in the IT industry. However, this video helps me tremendously to begin my cybersecurity portfolio. Thank you.
Hi SAPTA your videos are helpful
I loved the idea of who is your target audience. I never thought that my target audience it hiring managers, recruiters, etc. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
🙌😀
Hi,
You made video on Portfolio😲😲, which I requested a week ago.... You are too fast and really understand problems about people.
Thanks a ton 🙏🏻🙏🏻😇😇
It is really helpful not like those sponsered videos of utubers on websites making portfolio, where it gets difficult to understand what I am supposed to do.
Really grateful of you sir.🙏🏻🖌😊
Thank you, Disha :) Well, I have been thinking about making a video on portfolios for a while.
@@saptarshipr 🙏🏻😊😊....thanks again... I got extremely happy n excited, itni jaldi to bhagwan b nh sunte but you understand what new designers need most. Thanks
Thanks a lot 🙏
Remember the project can be mock but your work is real🔥
Sapta, you hit the bulls eye!
Thank you :D
Mind blowing how are you so gooooodddd i am starting yo luv u...
Youre gonnaaaaaaa killl😱😱
Was waiting for this one! Thank you Sapta for this upload!

@@saptarshipr Yeah thank you can you share a link for reference for a UX Portfolio
This was super helpful...!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Sapta, you've covered a lot in this short video.
My pleasure!
Your analogies are always so spot on!
Thank you 🙌😃
Another informative video best as always❤🙌🙌
Thanks a lot :)
Am just coming across your tutorial for the first time and I love your work
Video was great but transition music and your voice volume must be at equal levels.
So much to learn from you, Thanks a bunch!
That's well explained! thank you sapta
Loved this video. Thanks a lot sapta!
Thank you, Urvashi :) Glad you enjoyed it!
Really helpful!!
Thanks for putting focus on what matters. As a UX Designer whose UI skills are below par, I get a bit intimidated by seeing portfolios that are high on visuals.
Your portfolio should be a combination of both. Good to know that you are aware of where you lack. Sharpening your craft isnt tough. You just need to spend some time practising.
@@saptarshipr I attended your workshop on Saturday. I really enjoyed the tips you gave, so I enrolled in the 8week UI Mastery Course as well
Hi there.
Really enjoying your content.. It's very crisp and helpful.
I would like to know if you would have slots available in December or January as I will have my UX portfoilio ready by then.
Hey Harshika.. Yes, you can book slots upto 1 month in advance. Here is the link calendly.com/saptarshipr
@@saptarshipr Thankyou. Also, I got to know you'll be one of the mentors in the growth school UX course. So excited about it !!
@@harshikhajain5939 Yeah.. I m one of the mentors there :)
Thank you, Saptarshi. I found so much value in this video.
As always another masterpiece tutorial about the case study, now I have all my answer in one video, thanks a lot for sharing such an informative tutorial with us.
My pleasure, Kaysar :)
Thanks for the video it is really helpful and have made many things clear, would love to see more content from you.
Mind blowing HIGH QUALITY CONTENT and that line UX of the UX Portfolio hit me in the face
It was very helpful, precise and to the point.
Truly information & helpful for beginners like me , just a suggestion on Subscription intro. Make 'Subscribed' button state to be grey or white to differentiate it :)
Thank you Deep! Ah.. That makes sense. I think I should do that. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Great video as always. Thank you
Hi Sapta, This was perfect in just 10 min video. Always love the way you speak :)
Can you give your opinion on one more thing.
During interviews for Product designer position, companies give assignment. So what is the best way to show that assignment to the interviewer.
Should i share just figma file, or as a pdf/zip attachment or should i upload it on behance and share the behance link?
For assignments, you can use a PPT, PDF or anything. Reason being when a company asks you to work on a particular problem, they will also mostly give you an opportunity to walk them through the solution over a meeting etc.
@@saptarshipr Thanks for the clarification :)
101.....? Is this gonna be a series??
Already excited....!!
Ha ha.. Let me see if there is any need :) Maybe this one would be enough :D
Great video! Informative as well
Thank you, Rajesh! Glad you liked it :)
ok, now Indians are teaching even design
What an explanation Sir 🙏
Thank you, Jaswanth :)
hats off to your song selection ..❤️🔥
:D My brother composes them for me :)
@@saptarshipr wow..your brother composes so nice..🙌
Loved it ❤️
I'm a Graphic Designer having experience of 1 year and I'm good in Photoshop and Illustrator. But now I want to switch to UI/UX. So please can you make a video on the process and what softwares should I learn to become a UI/UX designer? How should I begin as a beginner? I'm not familiar with motion design or After Effects.
Watch King Siddharth's video with Abhinav Chhikara on this
Hey Navman.. As mentioned in this video, UX Design has two broad parts and hands-on is only one of them. The other, i.e. the analytical side is not just a skill but its a way of life. I will not recommend a tool-first approach for UX Design ever, because unlike Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, the tools that are used for UI design (Figma, Sketch, XD) are very simple and intuitive and you can learn them in no time; within a few hours maybe. Think of them like MS Word or Powerpoint. You do not really need to learn anything to use these tools. You open them and you know what to do. For process, I had made a dedicated video. I suggest you check that out. ruclips.net/video/ljkwQYn2KBA/видео.html
Perfectly explain 👍
Glad you think so!
Hey Sapta thanks a lot for the amazing tips!
It would be great if you can do a video on how to arrange content on a personal portfolio website for people who are involved in multiple sectors like branding, illustrations, and UI/UX. should they have different portfolio sites for each one or an all-in-one site is good to go.
You're welcome, Ferdous :) If you have a personal website, its very easy to segregate them. Its all about having categories / tabs / filters in your portfolio section for branding, illustration, UX etc. You wont need different sites as such.
I like your style
Great advice! Thank you for this video : )
Hey sapta, love the way how you keep your videos short and at the same time explain whats needed. One quick doubt, for a case study, is there any difference on the emphasis of the project if we choose to redesign an existing app versus choosing a problem and coming up with a solution to it?
Thank you, Vinamra :) You see, the UX of my videos should be good as well. I try to optimise them as much as possible. I don't think there should be any difference as long as you identify a real underlying problem in an existing app. You redesign something only when you find a problem there.
@@saptarshipr I totally agree. The only mental block I am facing right now regarding the case study is, if I find a problem and try to come up with a solution for it, most of the times there are apps already providing a solution to the problem, (only know about them after starting the research) but then after analysing them I see that they have usability issues. So then I am always caught between the decision of designing an app from scratch or improve the existing one. ( Sorry for the long message :D)
@@vinamraagarwal5095 I know! Thats the problem with mock projects. I m planning a follow up video on the same.
A video on step by step guide to get a UX design job . Please !!
Ajitesh, these videos are essentially that.
@@saptarshipr yeah right . But a properly structured video will help a lotttt . One video dedicated to just finding a job
The OG portfolio 🙏🔥!
:D
How can a fresher create studies . Should I take imaginary case studies . ?
Thank you
Sapta please can you share your ideas and ways you write how to write a proper case study and by writing I mean for people like me who find it really difficult to transfer thoughts to words. Thank you ☺️
Hmm Interesting. Well, this is functional writing and not necessarily creative writing. This is actually more about clear communication than anything else. Let me think if I can do justice with a video :) Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the insights!!
From a recruiter perspective, does mock project have importance of similar level of that of a newbie junior designer with real client projects ?
A prospective employer will want to understand your capability. As long as you display the right set of things in your mock project, its all good. I'd say its equivalent to a real project. The only edge that a real project has over a mock one is that it has validation from other people. The fact that a set of people believed in your designing abilities and put the effort to build that out, says a lot. Thats it. Nothing more nothing less :)
@@saptarshipr Thats great to know!! and thanks a lot to you again 😀🙏
Well explained. Thank you .
One query, any of product development, if we don't have access to users or 1st time inventing the product, In that case how to manager users perspective for testing and persona.
You are Awesome...
Thank you, Naina :)
thanks for the video bro
No problem 👍
hi, Sapta, I'm a novice in UX UI, I was searching some thing like this, any way Thak you for your Guidelines.
Happy to help :)
Not sure if you've mentioned this somewhere, but what microphone & lighting set up do you use? Thanks!
Hey Josh.. The mic is Samson G Track Pro amzn.to/2GnIPrr and the light is a generic quadlux light with softbox amzn.to/3cXO3WE
That white book in blurry background is Sapiens?
Yeah.. Sapiens is one of them 🙂
Would you please make a video on recommended books for designers?
@@VishalKumar-fj4wq Sure. I can do that :)
Hello, I am a beginner and I want to do a mock application because I don't have any real project right now. But i am so worried about the case study. Without any user persona how can i do my project. If there is no user how can i make empathy maps? 🙄
What an amazing clarification. UX of this video was great. Thanks for helping us out ❤️
You are so welcome, Sushant :)
Can I have the link to this music, please?
Hey sapta, awsome video. Just a doubt , can there be different sections in the same portfolio. For e.g one section for case study , one section for motion design , one for dribble shots etc .Or there must be a different portfolio for every other skill?
Yes, that you can do. It will be easy to achieve that if you are building your own website where you will get to crete all these sections in the way you want.
Amazing
Man this intro sound puts goosebumps⚡ inside my body!
Will interupt.. Big companies mainly tcs, delloite, EY , seimens, honeywell do see the experience.. They just send a mail by saying we would like to proceed with other candidates as you don't have the desired experience...
This video should have your answer :) ruclips.net/video/Ko1kzcWWtQs/видео.html
Can I write a case study of an already made website?
Great
Hi saptarshi! Can we create ux profile without knowing after effects (but I know other Adobe ps, illustrator ).I am beginner basically in ui ux
Of course. Motion design is an option.
Hey Sapta! Great video!
A small issue I encountered as I wasn't able to book a call on for .
Seems change of month is disabled. Its stuck to May(current month). Can you confirm if its due to a setting you put or has it just expired?
Thanks you sapta.
You're welcome, Abhishek :)
To the point. 👍👍
Thank you : )
Hi Sir , I have a question, when we are doing competitive analysis, at that time can we consider google reviews. Also, can we take screenshot and use it in portfolio.
Is it necessary for every UX Case study on your portfolio to have success metrics mentioned for it? What if you don't have them for a case study?
Not necessarily. Not every success metric is tied to UX. If you have them, you can always mention them.
Thank You!
You're welcome!
Can we add the design that we replicated from a template to our portfolio?
You ideally can. But you will have to clearly call it out. But remember that it may not display your thinking ability becasue you have merely replicated someone else's work. It will display craft though.
Good video!
Thank you 🙂
Can we showcase shots or 1-2 screens in a medium article ?
Certainly. But having only the screens without the process maynot be very helpful for UX portfolios.
@@saptarshipr Then can those 1-2 design shots be added on dribble ?
Now my eyes are wide open.
Wow! Glad to know that :D
does sharing portfolio breach any kind of firms confidentiality?
How to make these links as i am new to ux ui
You can use any services. It's just like creating a profile on social media. Just that these profiles will have your work / stories / blog posts. You can try medium.com/
