    Hi Sapta, This was perfect in just 10 min video. Always love the way you speak :)
    Can you give your opinion on one more thing.
    During interviews for Product designer position, companies give assignment. So what is the best way to show that assignment to the interviewer.

      For assignments, you can use a PPT, PDF or anything. Reason being when a company asks you to work on a particular problem, they will also mostly give you an opportunity to walk them through the solution over a meeting etc.

      @saptarshipr  4 года назад +2

      Hey Navman.. As mentioned in this video, UX Design has two broad parts and hands-on is only one of them. The other, i.e. the analytical side is not just a skill but its a way of life. I will not recommend a tool-first approach for UX Design ever, because unlike Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, the tools that are used for UI design (Figma, Sketch, XD) are very simple and intuitive and you can learn them in no time; within a few hours maybe. Think of them like MS Word or Powerpoint. You do not really need to learn anything to use these tools. You open them and you know what to do. For process, I had made a dedicated video. I suggest you check that out. ruclips.net/video/ljkwQYn2KBA/видео.html

    It would be great if you can do a video on how to arrange content on a personal portfolio website for people who are involved in multiple sectors like branding, illustrations, and UI/UX. should they have different portfolio sites for each one or an all-in-one site is good to go.

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  4 года назад

      You're welcome, Ferdous :) If you have a personal website, its very easy to segregate them. Its all about having categories / tabs / filters in your portfolio section for branding, illustration, UX etc. You wont need different sites as such.

    Hey sapta, love the way how you keep your videos short and at the same time explain whats needed. One quick doubt, for a case study, is there any difference on the emphasis of the project if we choose to redesign an existing app versus choosing a problem and coming up with a solution to it?

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  4 года назад +1

      Thank you, Vinamra :) You see, the UX of my videos should be good as well. I try to optimise them as much as possible. I don't think there should be any difference as long as you identify a real underlying problem in an existing app. You redesign something only when you find a problem there.

    • @vinamraagarwal5095
      @vinamraagarwal5095 4 года назад +2

      @@saptarshipr I totally agree. The only mental block I am facing right now regarding the case study is, if I find a problem and try to come up with a solution for it, most of the times there are apps already providing a solution to the problem, (only know about them after starting the research) but then after analysing them I see that they have usability issues. So then I am always caught between the decision of designing an app from scratch or improve the existing one. ( Sorry for the long message :D)

    From a recruiter perspective, does mock project have importance of similar level of that of a newbie junior designer with real client projects ?

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  4 года назад +3

      A prospective employer will want to understand your capability. As long as you display the right set of things in your mock project, its all good. I'd say its equivalent to a real project. The only edge that a real project has over a mock one is that it has validation from other people. The fact that a set of people believed in your designing abilities and put the effort to build that out, says a lot. Thats it. Nothing more nothing less :)

    Hello, I am a beginner and I want to do a mock application because I don't have any real project right now. But i am so worried about the case study. Without any user persona how can i do my project. If there is no user how can i make empathy maps? 🙄

    Hey sapta, awsome video. Just a doubt , can there be different sections in the same portfolio. For e.g one section for case study , one section for motion design , one for dribble shots etc .Or there must be a different portfolio for every other skill?

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  4 года назад +3

      Yes, that you can do. It will be easy to achieve that if you are building your own website where you will get to crete all these sections in the way you want.

    Will interupt.. Big companies mainly tcs, delloite, EY , seimens, honeywell do see the experience.. They just send a mail by saying we would like to proceed with other candidates as you don't have the desired experience...

    Seems change of month is disabled. Its stuck to May(current month). Can you confirm if its due to a setting you put or has it just expired?

    Hi Sir , I have a question, when we are doing competitive analysis, at that time can we consider google reviews. Also, can we take screenshot and use it in portfolio.

    Is it necessary for every UX Case study on your portfolio to have success metrics mentioned for it? What if you don't have them for a case study?

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  4 года назад +1

      Not necessarily. Not every success metric is tied to UX. If you have them, you can always mention them.

    Can we add the design that we replicated from a template to our portfolio?

    • @saptarshipr
      @saptarshipr  Год назад

      You ideally can. But you will have to clearly call it out. But remember that it may not display your thinking ability becasue you have merely replicated someone else's work. It will display craft though.

      Certainly. But having only the screens without the process maynot be very helpful for UX portfolios.
