Make a folder shortcut that points to the DCIM directory on the ssd (/Volumes/SamsungT5/DCIM/) and direct final cut pro to that shortcut.
It won't know where the files are loaded from and "should" work.

I record mostly 4k 24p so SD cards in my G9II works great. Important stuff stuff I can record to both SD cards. I do wish Lumix would let you record to the SD card and to an external drive at the same time.
