Really enjoyed your Hoya blooms video. I am new to mid Atlantic and saw how popular Hoyas are. Learned a whole lot about care so I will check on line to purchase some cuttings and start my collection. Thank you so many much, Gloria
Lacunosa is such a prolific bloomer! It's one of only three I have that have bloomed, and it's almost constant in spring and summer. I have no idea where people got that it smells like cinnamon. It reminds me of lilies, but not so overpowering. My other bloomers are shepherdii and heuschkeliana. The shepherdii was very lightly scented, if at all, and the heuschkeliana smelled very sweet, like some kind of dessert or vanilla frosting.
My Hoya is huge, about a foot tall and in a circular form about 8 inches through. Much to my regret it has never bloomed in 3 years that I have been growing it. I do no know the variety but it could not be more beautiful with thick leaves and new growth all the time. It is close to my favorite plant only being in competition with my huge Clivia lily that has bloomed non stop for the past year with is not typical with this lily. My Hoya has only to bloom to make me extremely happy. I have an east facing sun porch that is home to 12 very large plants that I call GODS Garden. They are all beautiful in their own right.
I bought a Lacunosa from Lowe's about 2 months ago. Switched it to Semi-Hydro and it bloomed in about a month. It is budding up again right now. I also have a Pubicalyx that has budded up and looks like it is going to bloom for the first time. My Bella has pushed out 8-10 Peduncle that have all dried up and fell off. It too is in semi-hydro and directly under a humidifier. Really enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching! Glad most of your hoyas are blooming for you. My Bella actually doesn’t get the highest humidity available and she seems to do fine. Good luck with yours!
Hoya blooms are my absolute favorites! My sheperdeii buds are about to open up any day now and anxiously awaiting my Mathilde buds too. Thanks for sharing! 🤗
I really enjoyed and appreciated this video!! I'm a newbie to hoyas, but I have some small green carnosa cuttings, a small Mathilde plant, a small Obovata plant, and some Bella cuttings that are growing like weeds! I'm hoping to be able to get them to bloom one day, and so many people make it seem so impossible to get them to flower, and this video made it seem like it was an attainable goal to have :)
Love all the blooms so pretty! I’m about to have my first hoyas bloom I’m so excited! My caudata already has the buds formed just waiting for them to open and then my callistophylla grew a peduncle and is pushing them out!
I don't have a bella, but the blooms on yours are particularly lovely. I think it is because the leaves are so close together on that hoya so the blooms really stand out. My multiflora developed buds and then they blasted. I have one old carnosa that blooms over and over. I have peduncles on curtisii and obovata, but so far no buds have formed. I suppose they will eventually.
Love ur collection. My prolific bloomer is my kri kle 8. But I got a real surprise when a new (acquired almost a yr ago) baby looks like a long trailing obVato bloomed. I had just taken a cutting, and I really don't like to do that to mine. But the cutting is doing well.
Sometimes these flowers only have a sent at a certain time of the day or night. I have string of dolphins that bloomed and string of pearls that have bloomed. They smell like cinnamon but only in the evening. And if they're outside you don't smell them or in a big room but this year I had three bigger pots of String of Pearls that bloomed in my bedroom and it really smell like cinnamon at night but not during the day. Not sure if that helps about the smell because my Hoyas have never bloomed
Hoya Carnosa's scent is very strong, but also only in the evening. Nothing during the day. Hoya Heuschkeliana smells throughout the day. It smells like caramel, but you really need to get your nose in there. The smell fades a lot after two or so days.
Hoyas in Winter in TN. Its 21° here this morning. What can I do to #1 not kill it, #2 get them to bloom. I've got the right light. Just got mine last summer. I so want them to live and grow in TN I had one in CA that was AWESOME. Hope i get to see your answer.
Wow, it's beautiful plants and the flowers
These blooms are gorgeous! Thanks for the tips. The foliage is great too of course, but sometimes you just want a flower
Agreed. I enjoy both sometimes! ❤️🌱
Great video... good information, beautiful blooms!
Omg, are you kidding me right now?!?! Those are AWESOME!! Tfs

Wow Thank you for sharing your blooms and showing how you have them potted. What type of soil etc do you use?

How long from peduncle to bloom? I have a Bella? I think it might be a Krimson Queen that has had a peduncle for two weeks...🌸
How do I get rid of mealy bugs on my Bella, never had this on here. TIA
How did you make your lacunosa dark green leaves. Mine has bloomed but leaves are turning brown.
Mine likes to sit back from the window and a little more frequent watering than my larger leafed hoyas. Hope that helps.
Cool earrings👍
Thanks!
My heuschkeliana blooms smell like butterscotch and the scent is stronger in the evening
Sounds heavenly 💕
mine smells stronger at night as well, do you know why??
my hoya's leaf is cracking what is the reason?
💕💕💕
🤩🤩💜
hi i have my hoya since long time they are very helthy but no flowers
I really enjoyed your video. Your hoyas are beautiful 💚🌿
Thanks so much! 💕☺️
My Hoya bella smells like milk chocolate - absolutely delicious!
I’ve heard that before, but I can never smell mine. Oh well.
I agree. Smell is strongest in the morning when our veranda has closed
hoya bella
Someone gave me a hoya, i gave it some fertilizer and it bloomed a lot.
Hoyas smell like cnocolate
I’ve heard that, but I can’t smell it 😂 I think I have a bad sense of smell.
