Iniesta is probably my second favourite player behind D. Villa, simply because i play as a striker and so i really admire him. Iniesta and Xavi i always thought are 2 completely different players. Iniesta loves to run at players and dribble then get a pass off while Xavi likes to dissect the defence with his precision passes. 2 of the greatest players we are watching at the moment though
Many interesting things to be noted. Indeed Iniesta does not play Xavi's role as good as the latter, he is much more deadly when he does not have to construct the build up from scratch, in this video he clearly plays better when on the left side, a position leading to goals. Second thing, Busquets + another pivot (here: Yaya Touré ; in Spain: Xabi Alonso) is not a good combination when Barcelona has possession. Busquets just does not feel comfortable going up too much and running in front of the constructor (usually Xavi), he always prefers to stay behind to provide a passing option to the back. Yaya Touré can go more forward, but it's not the position he used to play at this time. Also in the attack, Ibrahimovic' positioning is a bit weird, it's quite obvious that he does not know exactly where he should go. He's not running behind the defense when needed, and sometimes when he'd better come short he does not.
I would say the closest to Xavi at picking out the right pass and having the ability to deliver it is Scholes. Iniesta is more high risk, higher risk passes, higher risk dribbles with higher rewards. I do believe however once Xavi retires it's likely Iniesta will take over Xavi's role and play more patiently. Fabregas is at a lower level in this regard when he plays deeper, however he's been playing more forward lately.
@kasabianempire07 yea ur right once xavi retires which is in a few years iniesta will be the midfield coordinater fabregas does play alittle on top since joining barca...i think after xavi retires he will be a midfiield coach helping others continue the barca passing game

@damdam17 I know. I dont know why it gets like that. I need to fix it
@damdam17 But for me it is only in the first 5 seconds or something, not the whole video. Is it like that for you too?
