She loved it! That was probably the 15th time ive seen it.
Yes, Slap Shot is the greatest hockey film ever.

Glendale, the NHL, the so-called owners they approved of, and the state of Arizona screwed this one up!). Signing off from Glendale

Slapshot...My ultimate favorite movie...My hometown Hornepayne NW Ontario is where Goldie Goldthorpe grew up and played hockey...He was the inspiration for Ogie Ogilthorpe in the movie.
Also a little known fact...It was the first American movie translated in french in Quebec.
No doubt that Yvon Barrette/Denis Lemieux and Yvan Ponton/Jean-Guy Drouin had something to do with that...They would've say something like " If you do the translation in France like usual, It will sound totally stupid " In Quebec, Hockey is way stronger than religion 👍👍

My dad & I laughed throughout this movie. We were in tears it was so funny. My dad was a huge Montreal Canadians fan and used to see all of the greats play. When we moved to the US we went to a lot of Houston Aeros hockey games. Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe were all on the team. We saw Gordie score his 800th goal. Even though my dad saw the best teams in pro hockey he said a Houston Aeros - Winnipeg game was the best he had ever seen. The Aeros were down 4-1 with just over a minute to go and they ended up beating Winnipeg in the most excited game ever.
My dad and I loved Slap Shot and especially the Hanson Brothers! They added to the hilarity! Another hilarious show we laughed all the way through was Blazing Saddles. Our stomachs actually hurt from laughing so much. Both those shows were masterpieces.
This program is so great with Steve Carlson talking about the way things were. All the best to him!

See Bennett Wolfe much? : ) ... You and the rest of the Hanson's posed for a pic with me when you guys came to the area for a charity game. I was there at the war memorial in SYR, during the filming!! The keys!
I ran into Mr Newman at the long beach ca indy car grand prix many years later and we had a few moments to talk about how much fun he had making that film. One of the best moments of my life. Thank you Steve! Huge props and prayers to you and your family!!

Saw the Hanson brothers years ago at a Tampa Bay Lightning game when they were touring NHL Arenas. They had already done their schtick "water skiing" behind the Zamboni between periods. I went up to concession stand during next period and the Lightning rep was walking the three of them around the concourse to wherever it was they were supposed to go. I yelled over to them "HEY, I'll buy you guys a soda after the game" and right away they shot back "Yeah, but none of that stinkin' root beer". Funny stuff...

I love this movie and watched it several times. As Steve was doing his tour and explaining where scenes were done I started laughing remembering the scenes. Thanks for the tour Steve and continued good health.

I grew up in Rome. NY which is next to Utica NY and we used to go and see the Mohawk Valley Comets games. There is one scene in the movie where is was shot at the Utica War Memorial Auditorium. Slap Shot really captured what semi-pro hockey was like in the 70"s. It's now the Utica Comets and the place is the Adirondack Bank Center.

I've heard stories about how wild the old Comets games were. Glad the new Comets do pay homage to old Comets. My grandmother went to the filming at The Aud. She was a huge Paul Newman fan. For years, she only ever saw the edited version of the film and would call to tell us it was on tv. The first time she ever saw the unedited version, she frantically called us to tell us to turn it off haha.

The Comet games were really that off the wall. One time, when the Long Island Ducks came to Clinton to play the Comets, the fans were so mad at Long Island, they literally tipped their bus over
