I have been an OU fan since the 60s and also worked as a photographer on the sidelines of college football games for several decades. I subscribed to your channel because you do the research and don't just make your opinions based on biases. I am not a Texas Longhorn hater, but I fail to understand all of the optimism for a Texas team that has lost a lot of talent that will be incredible difficult to replace from the portal.
Couldn’t agree more. Made a similar point on one of Klatt’s videos. Their secondary was shaky last year even when they had no problem stopping the run. They’ve lost two of the top DL in the country, and solid DL have proven to be the most difficult position on the field to replace/develop. The media seems to be ignoring Texas’ issues.

I’m a Bama fan, so I recognize that there is a difference between the fixation that the media had on Bama at the height of the Saban Era and the current acknowledgment of Georgia’s position at the top of the sport. But the situations were also different. Saban’s Alabama completely displaced both Mack Brown’s Texas and Urban Meyer’s Florida - the two most dominant programs of the time. Both of those programs fell completely into disarray after 2009, and Alabama was a singular dominant force playing in what was the hardest conference in the country. It was a unique moment. Georgia is the best they’ve ever been as a program, and Kirby deserves his flowers. But they usually played a pretty lackluster schedule to compile a lot of wins (which is not their fault) and by the time the end of the season rolled around they were usually fresh enough and so well practiced that they’d blow through playoff opponents. To me, it’s very similar to Dabo’s Clemson between 2015-2019. Also, Bama is still around, OSU is great, Michigan just won a championship, Texas is re-emerging, Oregon is better than they’ve ever been, even FSU is coming back. The the sport has simply shifted to allowing for a much greater degree of parity between teams. I don’t think you can expect any team to be covered the same way Bama was in 2009-2012. There is no “THE” team. It’s a different sport now.

Georgia's RB recruits this year are all explosive and fast. Something they haven't had since Swift. Etienne also adds that. Dumas Johnson was great, but he saw the writing on the wall with CJ Allen and/or Jalon Walker.
The way Georgia has recruited they are deep everywhere. Health and bad luck are the enemy of every contender. If they stay on the good side of those two variables, even that schedule can’t stop them.
Weakness will be defensive backfield replacing 2 players that went to the NFL. May have to play some zone until they learn the system. If UGA can get some pressure on the QB, it takes the pressure off the CB’s.
UGA has a problem at DT. All a team needs is a competent QB with a decent offensive line. The Jalen Carter’s and Davis’ of the world have graduated. Take a look at the Missouri game…at home…then look at the Bama game. You can see no real pressure up front then Kirby has to blitz. So yea it’s a good squad…. And BTW Downs is best safety…RT. Kirby hasn’t had a first round talent in the secondary since…Baker maybe? Not sure but yea, No
Since Baker Kirby has gotten Eric Stokes and Lewis Cine drafted in the first round. Also, besides being slower, shorter, and worse in coverage, Downs doesn't bring anything to the table that Starks doesn't. HTH!

Weird comment. Kirby has had 12 DBs drafted in his since he took over at UGA with 3 being in the first round and 3 being in the second. Yeah, the defensive tackle room was lacking last season compared to 2022 and 2021 but it wasn't bad. They sacked Milroe 4 times, held him to a 56% completion rate and held Alabama to 2.8 YPC so not sure using that game proves anything. Missouri had success running the ball but that was primarily at the edges. Brady Cook also completed less than 50% of his passes and threw 2 interceptions due to pressure. Sometimes in football weird things happen. That's why the games aren't played on paper and Bama didn't win the title every season since 2009.

Third down conversion rate is paltry past the opponents 40 Georgia can run a lot of plays get a lot of uphill firstdowns but they cant or dont cash in nearly enough. Only 10% of all playcalls last season resulted in explosive gains. Georgia is playing old man football with a stacked deck. Its foolishness pure and simple😢
Uga is the favorite but that schedule isn’t a joke at Kentucky neutral site with Clemson at Texas at Alabama. auburn and Tennessee in Athens they hypothetically could lose 6 games they won’t but their not going undefeated as much as we all want them to but they’ll make the playoffs and be seasoned

What's funny is that like Bobo's offense, Chip Kelley at his best spread the ball around, was well balanced, and didn't produce 1000-yard receivers, something we've been assured never happens in any decent offense 😁 Bobo now owns the two top scoring offenses in Georgia history (which happen to be his last two UGA offenses) and is a two-time Broyles Award finalist (meaning he was one of the top 5 coordinators on either side of the ball).
Bama did not beat Ga by 10+ last year with Saban and a better team. Bama gets beat at home by the Dawgs this year. They wont be banged up 4th game of the year.
Kalen Deboer is likely to be another in the long line of coaches who rapidly rose to prominence by over-relying on an exceptional NFL-bound QB just making plays. Washington made all their rep in the first month of the schedule - in the second half against some average-to-awful teams they had close call after close call: 15-7 over 3-9 Arizona State at home 42-33 over 3-9 Stanford, who was within two going into the 4th quarter 52-42 over USC, in the middle of their 1-5 collapse to end last season 35-28 over 8-4 Utah, trailing the team led by their backup QB until 4 minutes to go in the game. 22-20 over 8-4 Oregon State 24-21 over 7-5 WSU at home NONE of those programs finished ranked. That's a stretch of schedule where a great coach should have stood out. All DeBoer proved last year is that he had a great QB. The graveyard of college coaches is filled with guys who leveraged a great, outgoing QB into a massive promotion and then got exposed as one of the pack.
Finally someone gets it…Georgia has one of the best receiving corps in the country. Great job Cole for going against “the narrative.”
