Thinking about it now, I wanna say that if you or somebody you know has experienced severe trauma that hinders your daily life, please get the help you need.
I just avoid anything that might lead to said action that is related to my trauma, thankfully it is easily enough to conceal under the impression of me being a reserved person
And sometimes the most effective help is someone close you trust.
Thing is it’s very hard opening up to even your closest companions, let alone a psychological professional.
Especially when you’ve tried and failed many times...

I’ve got a friend who reacts very similar to nezu here. Don’t worry, she’s getting help but she has ptsd and whenever someone touches her she freaks out or has a panic attack. She’s getting better but I couldn’t help but think of her while watching
I know it's a headcanon, but I actually think it makes a lot of sense for Nezu to have some trauma like that, afterall he WAS a labrat before he became the Principal of UA, it's even implied that he has a bit of anger towards humanity that he often has to hold back

I assumed that Nezu was a mouse who after alot of testing resulted in him develop his quirk High Specs. I'm just glad he used his quirk to join society and rise above the humans who traumatised him. He's the principle of the greatest school for heroes, i dont think you can have a position higher than that in terms of visual justice and nobility.
I cant fault him for toying with his students during the exam. He has every experience and skill to do it and i think it's a nice therapeutic action.

this is a wonderful and powerful comic to show trauma. trauma isn't something you or any other character can just 'get over'. it's not a mountain they must climb in order to get over and get better. trauma is carried with us, for the rest of our lives. Eri and Nezu have scars from their traumas, both the ones we can see...and the ones they carry in their hearts and minds. they aren't 'okay'...and that's okay.

I've only just realised that All Might and Nezu are wearing matching suits
No idea if this is a trauma he has or not. (it would fit his character well if that's the case).
Regardless, I wanted to say I like the way he handled the situation. He stowed his shit long enough to avoid emotionally damaging that poor kid.

It is. Recovery girl said so to a few students while Nezu was testing Ashido and Kaminari on their endurance that he was tested on resulting in the way he is. I think Horeikoshi even said he has recurring nightmares

As someone with trauma myself, I can tell what he’s going threw and what he has spoken about, he was right about some days being worse than others. Sometimes a lot of memories come back at a specific moment in time for no reason and it just makes the mental state worse than it already was, it can bring someone down and make them feel so not motivated to do anything, makes them feel uncomfortable or even sick, and just sad. Everyone is different though so this doesn’t go for everyone, what I said is based off of my own experiences. 😊

Can't help but love this version of Nezu. From what I've seen in others, it's an act of heroism in itself to hold back that trauma for the sake of another. Part of me wants this to be canon, because I'd be more than happy to trust a guy like this with teaching heroes.

Dustin Vance well to be fair, Nezu has known All Might for a long time and is comfortable around him. Plus the hug from Eri took Nezu by surprise.
usually if the person with the trauma initiates the contact it's safe for them while unexpected contact is a major no no.

Yeah, it's also that if the traumatized person themselves though someone, they can separate/stop touching the other in an instant. If not, the traumatized person might feel attacked or claustrophobic/cleithrophobic.
(Claustro= the fear of small spaces/being stuck in small spaces.)
(Cleithro= the fear of being trapped, no matter how big the room/environment is)
With their close connection Nezu goes in for contact first to show All Might he trusts the guy

Well... If you know all this, then it's actually pretty obvious.
The fact that even though being touched, let alone being hugged, is traumatising for Principal Nezu, yet he kept a smile when Eri hugged him was sweet but also sad.

The first thing you’d think of is that he physically touches people all the time - like when he’s climbing peoples backs.
Then, for those who know the struggle, you realize that it doesn’t work that way. Trauma is stupidly complicated. It’s like misophonia, where some noises are fine, while others cause physical anger.
How could anyone dislike this? ITS BEAUTIFUL!!!

As someone who suffers from trauma I love how this comic shows it, it’s very accurate
Nezu and me can relate, we have traumatic triggers to hugs.

I think it's nice how All Might was Concern for Nezu, and how he deals with trauma. All Might completely understand what's that like, from when he lost his master and his fear of all for one, but overcame it all to become the hero he is today and I love how Nezu helps Eri to know she's not only and he understand how she feels when it comes to trauma. It's shows their kind hearted character
You know what makes this worse? I, as an individual, am only capable of helping people to feel better in the moment via touch.

I can understand Nezu, and that's why he's in my list of favorites. Trauma is a terrible thing, and it's definitely a shapeshifter that likes to be random. It's not something I normal like to have on days, but it explains my personality, fears, hopes, hobbies, almost everything. Trauma is like that. It can affect people, and they won't even know. They may not even know they have trauma until the realization hits, and you realize a lot of other things.
This is so beautiful.... And helps people understand that even the most cheerful people can have trauma. Everyone has secrets,and it's best to not force them to share the secrets.

Its always so funny that Nezu likes to clime on some of his staff for multiple reasons: to make a dramatic entrance like he did for the finals , or simply hitching a ride so he can talk to his friend while they walk them over to where they are going.

He could’ve been abused in the past. After all he is a smart animal, so it makes sense if someone did do experiments on him.
