Please push these mods up to the top of your list:). I for one am extremely interested in this stuff. Adding power to a bike that already has rediculous power is ok but this stuff is actually attainable to average Joe's like me!
Great job, Ari. Love the enthusiasm and the low buck modding. Nice to see uploads from guys who don't just review loaner bikes from manufacturers. I'll never own a Kawi 125, but still fascinating
I have a 2017 Z125pro with sticky dunlop tt93gp and a powercommander, chimera intake and M4 exhaust got it dyno tuned pushing 11.7 hp and 7.7 tq it does 65 mph all day a blast to ride. I've ridden bikes all my life to dirt bikes, mopeds, scooters and motorcycle's small and big these these little bikes aren't about speed but having fun.
Ari Henning, I believe replacing stock camshaft with a more high performance aftermarket one requires an ECU re flash and maybe a transmission tune to accommodate higher peak rpm. Then of course the fuel delivery system will need tuning to accommodate this aswell. May be the same process idk, all I know is there is more power to be had up top beyond the rev limiter with that camshaft
I did everything this guy said in the video and my bike is s0lower than stock. I did the "Crower Cam" and had Crower himself install it in Temecula. I recommend trying another avenue, such as wait till someone comes out with 4 valve head. I purchased the commander, air-filter snorkel, DCR cam shaft, Yoshimira pipe and spent over $1,200.00 I really wish I would of purchased a Grom at this point, as they have way more options. I hope someone comes up with a better plan for the Z125 pro 2017 model. I even put a bigger sprocket on the front, thinking that would help it out. My bike at max speed, on a down hill was 59 mph. Also, the odometer on the Z is off by 3 miles per hour. I used GPS to track the speed. My buddy has a stock one with exception to the air filter and he pulled me in every gear. Yes I am heavier than he is, but we switched bikes to see if we got the same results and yes. If someone can explain where I went wrong, I am all ears at this point. Thanks for reading Rock Wilson
Ken Wilson it could be the miles on the bike loosen up the motor more. Just adding parts to a bike and throwing money at it doesn't make it faster. It's knowing how they work together and developing those parts that you become successful. That's why tuners are so expensive even for cars to get more horsepower from the same engine. At my job someone in a cammed honda rust bucket is a sleeper that walks anyone. The idle is so bad it feels like the engine is going to die.
Sorry to hear that. Do u have any update on your z125.? I am on the fence about a zfi and a DCR cam. Is it worth dumping all that cash? My zee is my daily driver to work.
@@Stick_jitsudad808 I got a z125 and do 68mph stock with nothing but a yoshimura. Then I did a lightened primary and was faster. Now I got a different titanium exhaust and increased horsepower.
I don’t mean this in a cynical way but am genuinely curious because with these bikes it can really matter. How much did you weigh when you posted this comment?
dude... the ability to install a cam while the bike is simply on a lift without dropping the motor.... GOLD! how does the z125 compare to the grom in horse-ponies, btw?
I have a 2017 Z125pro with Dunlop tt93 gp and a power commander chimera intake and M4 exhaust, and it was tuned runs perfect 65mph all day I love it. I've ridden all my life small and big bikes and I have so much more fun on this it's not about the speed but the fun.
How would u break in this component. Is ther a break in procedure? Does this cam provide a good idle? Does this cam in your opinion provide low end torque or top speed?
When this was done did you even take the cam chain tensioner out? Froze the vid and it didint look like it. wondering cause ima about to do one and if i didnt have to take it out i wont
the problem with these little bike's is the riders expect more from something that isn't. ride it for what it is or mod it the way you want it will never be that bike. tons of fun the way they are, appreciate it for what it is. everyone is all...can't wait till they put a 250 in it....well.....buy a 250 then because these were never intended for that.
Just wait a year and buy a used one with the mods. On almost every mod you make you can expect around 20-25% return on your investment when selling the bike.
I hear mods and I think the guy ran the vehicle hard and knows it's time to cut losses on the repair bills. Also tried to make it like he wanted and couldn't, so gave up
I find it absolutely ridiculous to produce parts for a bike like this. Especially if few parts add up to match the bike price. Point nothing horsepower here and point nothing there while you lose where it counts, low-end. None the less, it is interesting, however I would never pay so much money for making the bike worse than stock...
It's the price of this crap that really gets me... $300 bucks for a few ounces of metal that does basically nothing better than the stock part? Pshh take a hike...
not worth it just out a bigger motor in an call it a day!!!! instead of spending time and wasted money because ur getting nowhere slowly With spending ALOT of money!!!
agreed totally. it's a great fun video and i loved watching it... but seriously, why buy a $3000 bike like this and spend $1000 in mods to make it like 5mph faster.
These little bikes are strangely alluring.
Cuban Rider ❤️

Gotta say I love what you guys are doing with the practical videos, keep it up!
No way is that camshaft worth the cost 💲 💵

So after the PC. We go nitrous. Then turbo. Then KX450 engine swap.
Let's see if we can break 10whp!!! :D
they make bigger bores than that for the grom, finbro makes a 212cc big bore kit
Finbro kits are crap though, the Takegawa 181 super head makes more power using less fuel.
PUU-TAAH Nin Nin good to know
+daybreaK great to know!!!;
PUU-TAAH Nin Nin HEY! There's no replacement for displacement--- lol jk, you're right! :)
What was the valve lash set to for intake and exhaust

there will be tons of engine mods available in south east asia, this kawasaki enigne is nearly identical to the modenas kriss in malaysia
Great video, the KTM 390 looks like a great starter bike. What is your opinion on the Yamaha R3?
I can't wait for the other mods!
Any plans of a similar video series with the grom?
Love this series!
Would this be something to increase in the seven to nine thousand RPM range?
Reminds me of those YSR yammies back in the day. Reeds, pipe, spark - just to get an extra 0.2 hp.
Every .01hp helps lmao
I keep forgetting that you guys never got the CBR-125R down there. It was sold in Canada from 2007 to 2014(ish) and made 13RWHP. O the power.
dude... the ability to install a cam while the bike is simply on a lift without dropping the motor.... GOLD! how does the z125 compare to the grom in horse-ponies, btw?
+Ari Henning Roger that. thanks! We're gonna be racing the 24 again this year. You wanna? :) Sept!

Nice yellow 60th XSR-900 next to the Z125.

I have same question about the brake in
When this was done did you even take the cam chain tensioner out? Froze the vid and it didint look like it. wondering cause ima about to do one and if i didnt have to take it out i wont
How easy was it?
Yep, time for the GT15 turbo kit
you can get those cams for around 20USD in thailand, malaysia, or indonesia..
pity they arnt coming to the uk id love to buy one to tune it up as a toy for me and actual transport for my lady friend
ill send you mine..
Does this work for the 2021 z125?
Do you have to get it tuned after installing a cam
Love your work
You have way too much fun ;) keep it up!
That camshaft is so cute lol
Hey guys, I have poor throttle response recently, why is that happening?
i hear they are supposed to make more power after 500 miles
Price of this bike
"maybe do it on the kitchen table in your house"- k, but when my wife sees I'm blaming it on you.....
Has to be a kit that will give you over 100hp and bottom end torque
what gas are ya running..? 93 octane, or is that too high for the bike without a new fuel controller ?
+Ari Henning right on makes sense, so does Athena or Malossi make a big bore/ higher comp kit for it yet ;) ?
Purdy nice when people just send you stuff without you asking! Keep up the good reviews/tech edutainment stuff, we all enjoy/appreciate it.
just bought a '15 grom with a full pipe, bike only has 180 miles. but I can't justify spending a 1000 bucks for 1 horsepower.
the problem with these little bike's is the riders expect more from something that isn't. ride it for what it is or mod it the way you want it will never be that bike. tons of fun the way they are, appreciate it for what it is. everyone is all...can't wait till they put a 250 in it....well.....buy a 250 then because these were never intended for that.
Put a tiny blower on it!
Cool
If you can’t gain 1 hp for 300.00 dollers wtf!!
Best solution for that bike is a little turbo
Hahahahaha cute little camshaft
Just wait a year and buy a used one with the mods.

NEEDS TURBO!!!!!!
Looks like that cam is very much not worth the money. .3HP and only above 7500rpm. Waste of $300

I rather spend that money On something like a 250 more and mount it up!!
Lucas L wasn't THERE a possibility of a conversion kit to bigger motor...
The only thing is that the way the motor is mounted is dam near upside down!
you can buy a 180cc head for the grom, will probably be something similar for this soon
Would this be something to increase in the seven to nine thousand RPM range?
