      whats bothering me is that they kinda remove the animal aspect of the animals. hard to explain, but it doesnt feel like animals if you know what i mean. Like, they are making too much noise when sneaking up to their pray. they gave the animals a bit of human behaviour kinda. like for example with the gorgonopsid killing the scutosaurus. there was this wierd "silence" where they just staring at eachother before the gorgonopsid gave the final bite. like i said, i dont know how to put words for it but i hope its understandable

    While some people are claiming that the models for the Diplodocus & Allosaurus are reused from the Jurassic World Films, that's not exactly the case here:
    The only trait that the Diplodocus model (both Adult & Juvenile) shares with the Apatosaurus from the JW films is the head shape.
    As for the Allosaurus, it's more of an edited JW model; the head is somewhat smaller (I'm guessing more accurate proportions?) & the osteoderms (being speculative from the start) are less pronounced.

      This Allosaurus was the same model as the Jurassic World: Dominion one, but it has less extreme features (spikes, bigger head, bearing teeth, etc.) and a new sound design, to make it more appealing to a documentary audience. ILM did the CGI for this show, and the Jurassic franchise, so they had all the models, and I think it was pretty smart that they just tweaked the old designs rather than extend the release date by having to make brand new models. ✨🦖✨

      no thats not the only issue. other issues i got is that they remove the animal behaviour in some scenes and give them more human behaviour. like for example with the gorgonopsid and scutosarus. suddenly its this wierd staring contest before dealing the final blow. with the sinraptor chasing that gliding dinosaur where before it glides down the cliff its this typical moment we see with humans in movies where they look at their enemy before they jump. only in this case the gliding dinosaur looked at the sinraptor before jumping and gliding while the sinraptor just standing there looking at it. pretty sure irl the gliding dinosaur would have just gliding the moment it got there. then there is this scene where the terror bird kills this lama looking animal. the herd watch in horror when the terror bird kills the young one. the problem with that scene is that the terror bird looks at them like "see what i did? your next" and then kills the young one to show it means business. its all just wierd when the "villain" is about to kill then there is these wierd moments of behaviour humans does. talking about villains, this is another problem with the series. they treat predators as literal villains too. they look at their pray while roaring and having a angry face expressions. prehistoric planet did this very well where the animal looks natural with no face expression when hunting. and no unecasery roaring while hiding. Its like this show gives them these "villainous" traits so those who watch can tell that they are a predator. i mean, some random dude who dont know much about nature can easily tell what animal is a predator or not because all predators are roaring and showing angry face expressions while pray is always helpless and shows scared face expressions

It never fails on shows like these that the don't show what people want to see, and the ones that they do want to see like the T-Rex only gets maybe two minutes of screen time. Not only that but the entire series spends more time on present day animals and insects than it does in the past. Not a good series in my opinion.

    There’s just so much we will never know about these beasts. Like finding that hadrosaurs and the like had hooves is amazing! I wouldn’t be surprised is they also had some fur similar to a Wildebeest. If only we had a full tissue specimen of some dinosaurs. we wouldn’t be putting out totally inaccurate information based on thought and running with it. Like who tf said the Antilodont was a carnivore? Nothing on hooves is predatory. Maybe aggressive but certainly not running prey down. It was just a huge pig.

  • @Mothrabobafett
    @Mothrabobafett 7 месяцев назад +1

    the number of idiots who say "yeah uh it's jw's allosaurus and it's ugly because it's not precise" dismays me lol, to begin with, even if it's a documentary, it's free to modify the appearance of the dinosaur with an artistic touch without being too distorted, and the one in the documentary is magnificent, it is without a doubt my favorite allosaurus design, another fact that I like about this design is the colors and the osteoderm, the allosaurus palette is perfect and here's why
    the mixture of beige-orange with the contrast of dark gray and a magnificent rendering that is both colorful but not too much, undoubtedly inspired by the monitor lizard
    moreover the osteoderms are incredible, many complain about it because according to them it is not precise but nothing proves that the allosaurus did not have its osteoderm, for example, we believed for a moment that the carnotaurus had skin thin, but with a fossil footprint, Carno was learned to have rough skin filled with osteoderm, making JW's carnotaurus quite accurate
    also many have not noticed it but the presence of the osteoderm and the beige and black color and here quite important, at 00:22 we can notice that the presence of the osteoderm and this color not very saturated and intended to camouflage itself against the trunk of conifers at night or during the day, which is much more realistic than a colorful and extremely saturated allosaurus as some idiots think
    in short, apart from the strange neck position but directly inspired by the monitor lizard, this allosaurus design is a 200/10

    • @birdsaregovernmentspies8964
      @birdsaregovernmentspies8964 5 месяцев назад +2

      It's a documentery not a movie, this kind of distortion of reality is unacceptable. Also the osteoderms aren't 'amazing' they're moronic, carnotaurus had osteoderms because it was a ceratosaurian (the only late surviving saurischian's to have them). Last I checked allosaurus wasn't a fucking ceratosaurian. You calling people 'idiots' over a more saturated colour scheme is really something, tigers have a saturated colour scheme and blend in often perfectly. This allosaurus is a 2/10 at best, ffs it looks like it designed in 1908
