    Mandatory install with aftermarket short shifter, shifter plate, Raceseng knob, Perrin steering dampener lockdown, Group N transmission mount/bushings and aftermarket pitch stop. Then the car will start to feel more solid without spending too much money.

    For the record... I've owned and currently own several manual vehicles and none have ever had this slop issue at all. Sadly, i found out the hard way about the slop in first (2024 WRX TR). 55 miles in, went out in early morning to leave for work, started the car and was fooled by the slop, thinking it was in neutral, let out on the clutch, BANG.. car jumped and died, heart about stopped in the moment. 😂 Yes, the slop is there, even with an OEM STI short-throw kit. This is sad really, took this incident to slap me upside the head... gotta get it fixed ASAP.

  • @Fvllmetal

    I ran into an issue when I installed one of these. So I initially installed just like you did. But for some reason when I'm shifting a bit more aggressively, say on a highway or for recreation, my lock out lifts over the shift stop when going to to first gear, which makes the stop pointless. I ended up moving the shift stop all the way to the right where it contacts the rod of the shifter. Now it works as advertised, sorta. Has anyone else had this problem??

    Question for you man, or I guess any WRX owner. This is my second manual, last was a 91 240sx that had an enormous amount of play and was worn out. I picked up a 22 WRX and before and even after I installed the shifter stop going into 1st at a stop light and then engaging into 2nd feels like it's going into gear twice, if that makes sense. I'll push the clutch in and move it into 1st, gets about halfway I feel it engaging then it pops into 1st. I go to do the same shifting into 2nd and yet again I get it from 1st through neutral then I fell a noticeable stop then I pull it into 2nd. It could just be me as I am not used to driving a brand-new manual, but it doesn't feel right going into 1st and 2nd. All the other gears feel fine just worried. Thanks for the help, cheers.

      @fiercenet 2 года назад +2

      4 doors for the family is a must, I'm hoping to hear back tomorrow about a pretty well optioned limited for 41,600+tax to replace my 2002 Wagon. GL with yours, they are selling quickly despite the comments on the back bumper.

    • @ImportImageRacing
      @ImportImageRacing  2 года назад +4

      The BRZ I'd a great car but if you have any intentions of starting a family just know the backseat in the brz are useless, even if you could fit an infant with a car seat back there you'll end up breaking you back trying to get them in and out of the car. The WRX will be a much more family friendly car and the WRX also has a higher safety rating.

    What’s the difference between the Perrin 15-17, Perrin 18-21, and BilletWorkz 15-21 Shift stops? Why does the one Perrin one not work on newer models and the BW works on all?

    • @ImportImageRacing
      @ImportImageRacing  2 года назад +1

      Perrin original had a shorter one for 15-17 and the 18+ cars would pop over it so it wouldn't function correctly. Perrin made the 18+ a seperate version while other companies just adapted theirs and made it taller to fit all 15+ WRX

      Mine has the STI short throw shifter option installed, but looking at this video it appears there is no difference in the throws with your stock shifter. Is there a way to confirm the sti short throw shifter is installed apart from it being listed as an installed option on the window sticker? The STi shifter is a 10-15% shorter throw due to an upgraded geometry. It does very little to eliminate side to side movement. The shift stop and brass bushing will increase the performance feel of both OEM and STi shifters.

    • @ImportImageRacing
      @ImportImageRacing  Год назад +1

      The shifter stop would have nothing to do with the car stalling unless you couldn't get it out of gear and stalled letting of the clutch while in gear still. If this is the case, adjusting it slightly more towards the driver would fix the issue. Hope this helps!
