Brilliant advice from a zero nonsense
Also, some voices the microphone loves
Like some mics have different qualities
Cant beat the Shure sm and beta 58, 57’s. All about how you use them eq, compression etc
I prefer some of the newer hand held condensers for vocals
But often in a loud environment its not easy to wrangle
Where the Shure’s can take enormous gain and eq and not feedback.
But i totally agree with everything you said
    Slightest things make enormous difference
Like pop screens and mic techniques
For live sound from a proper PA
    System SM58/57 all day
I do prefer the sound signature of
Audio Technica mics a bit more
    But find im using SM58
For male singers and Beta 58
    For women vocalists
    More than anything

I use the sm 58 for vocals, I actually like that high end boost .

Good information, but you brought in a guest for his expertise and you keep talking over him. Let the guy talk.

We will have Andy back for again. We had a number of topics to get through.
We didnt' get through all the topics.
One of the challenges of hosting a show like this is keeping the program moving without getting too deep into the details on any one topic.
Andy has so much knowledge we could do an episode on any one of the topics we were discussing.
In no way did I mean any disrespect to Andy.

Stop cutting off the person being interviewed.. no manners .. you can see how uncomfortable he was being cut off

Hey, it’s cool. I’ve known Jack for a long time; he’s a great friend. If I came off as uncomfortable, I wasn’t. Jack and I both are great talkers and ideas spill out. Usually we both talk at the same time, but we made an effort to take turns! I guess we need more practice 😂😂😂
