would like to know what order crossover you chose and see the freq specs. do you use a zoeble filter? too bad many young people will never ever hear what good audio sounds like ,since their i-pods and surround sounds is all they will ever hear. luckly the two pair of speakers i built , will be listened to for many years by my grandchildren.
With it’s horn loaded compression driver and 15” woofer I’d expect this speaker to do as well with Rock music as comparable Altecs, JBLs, Ureis and such. It has the proper machinery to do so.

the more i listen to tannoys reference speakers, the more i decide to reduce the size of my car

I used to work in tannoy, those big speakers most went to China. I think four or £5,000. That was back in the 90s.

Mylar surround on the compression driver diaphragm, sounds like Tannoy is catching up to the old Altec Symbiotic, the Emilar and the current Radian
