To answer some questions:
1. Mandy Moore was a lead character in the very popular TV series This is Us from 2016-2022.
2. Zachary Levi voice Flynn/Eugene. He was in the TV series Chuck and also recently starred in the movie Shazam.
3. The award show performance was in 2011 and the movie was released in 2010 so the recording footage was probably only a year or two earlier.
I think I got them all :) I agree that the tone Mandy gives adds that pixie dust vibe, which is so fitting for a romantic song that occurs by starlight and lantern light!
I forgot one- It is "Wandering minds want to know".

Also, in the studio they were dressed comfortably. I always think people look older when they are all fancied up.
So both phrases are used, but it is spelled enquiring because it originates from the National Enquirer :) I learned something new today! I agree with you about the effects of dress on how old you look for sure!
And let's not forget Mandy was the lead in A walk to remember where she also blessed us with her beautiful singing
To add to Zachary Levi's list, he was also on Broadway in 2016 in the revival of the musical She Loves Me (based on a 1937 play, the 2nd adaptation was the 1940 film The Shop Around The Corner). He co-starred with Laura Benanti, Jane Krakowski, and Gavin Creel.
They also did a whole tv series and kept the same actors and has several musical numbers. It’s very good. ❤

Mandy and Zachary (Zachary Levi) actually reprised their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene in a 2D animated tv series, formerly known simply as "Tangled: The Series" and then later renamed "Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure". They both sounded amazing in the movie, and yet Mandy still somehow managed to improve her voice by the time "Tangled: Before Ever After" (a short movie in the same style, released to introduce the story explored in the show show essentially) came out in 2017. The show and the short movie have some amazing songs!
Also, I know you've reacted to and enjoyed Jeremy Jordan in the past - he's also in the show! And ugh, he has some beautiful songs. I don't have money to make an official reaction request unfortunately, but if I did I'd recommend (just from Jeremy; there are plenty of other songs in the show you could react to too) Let Me Make You Proud (and its Reprise), Nothing Left to Lose (with the amazing Eden Espinosa, god this is my favourite song from the show, two powerhouses), and Ready As I'll Ever Be (with Mandy, Zachary, Eden, and Clancy Brown).
Tangled was my FIRST EVER cinema experience when i was a kid and i don't have to tell you that lantern scene was just ✨magical✨ I was also fully convinced that Mandy Moore had the most beautiful voice conceivable

Mandy Moore still acts she’s been in long running shows, she carried on playing Rapunzel from 2017-2020 for the animated series (which has some great songs) and she was in This is Us from 2016-2022 she was nominated for a golden globe and an Emmy for that
mandy was in this is us from 2016-2022 and has had 2 albums come out in the last 3ish years. she went through some abuse (i believe primarily verbal and mental but i don’t completely remember) w an ex husband but is now married happily w 2 sons. zac has more recently been known for playing billy batson/shazam but very well known for the earlier 2000s series, chuck. both returned to these voice roles for the 3 season tangled series that ended in 2020, also featuring some broadway big names like jeremy jordan, eden espinosa, and james iglehart
yes, her ex husband is musician Ryan Adams. I used to really love his music but yeah, then I heard about what happened between them and honestly haven't listened to him since. I'm really glad Mandy Moore is happily married, she deserves the world. Love her in everything she's in.

I was a fan of Mandy Moore when she was a teen idol back in the late 90s and early 00s. She was a mean girl (Lana?) in Princess Diaries lol "stupid cupid, stop picking on me 🎶". Then when Walk to Remember came out, i asked my parents for permission to go watch it. She also has a singing scene in that movie 💕 "Only Hope". Must react if you haven't seen it!

Depending on when they recorded their singing part, it could have been years later. Casting started 2004 and production started around 2005 with a release date of 2007. But then it got pushed back more and more until a 2010 release date. Followed by a Nov release date and this being performed Feb 2011.
So, if they recorded this song in 2008 or so, it could have been almost 3 years. Even more if this song was done prior to getting pushed.

Mandy did get married in 2018 (w/ 2 sons now) and last news I saw she was the lead in This Is Us show (+ appearances in 2 other shows in 2023). Nothing on her music that I found of late.
She has released two albums in the last few years. They are wonderful, she's very talented.

But yes.. both Mandy and Zachary are still acting and still super successful.
Mandy Moore debuted as a pop singer in 1999 with the song “Candy”, she was only 15 years old at that time. She was quite popular, but still was going against Britney, Christina, and Jessica. She dipped into acting as well being the mean girl in “Princess Diaries” and then getting her big acting break in “A Walk To Remember”. She still managed to grow as an artist/singer, but she really excelled and got popular as an actress. She became super popular as one of the main cast members of the show “This Is Us” and of course she still continued being the voice and singing actress of Rapunzel in “Tangled” for the movie and animated series.
Zachary Levi was an actor from the tv show “Chuck”, that’s where he got well known/popular. A little fun fact about his character Flynn Ryder in “Tangled”…he was modeled after asking women what do they find attractive in a guy. Humor, Dark, tall, handsome, charming, and of course..a good guy with a heart underneath a “not so good” bad boy ladies man. LOL. Tbh Zachary Levi as Flynn was the perfect casting. But yeah he continues to extend his popularity by playing DC superhero SHAZAM. Just like Mandy Moore, he also reprised his voice acting/singing in the animated Tangled series too.

She did actually get married and fell off cause of her ex husband but she has since remarried, has had a baby and is back and doing acting rather than mainstream singing.
So, with the character of the singing, I really feel as though it very much suits the characters with where they are in their story. That's just my feeling on the matter, but Rapunzel... she's basically isolated until after the movie begins. So, she realistically wouldn't have a very well-developed singing voice.
I love attempting to sing to this song. It's to high for me and after working with kids and having to raise my voice over theirs it's a bit damaged and cracks on the high notes.. Still love this song though.. At least it's not as high as they notes they hit in frozen.. Those women go way outside of my range.. Le sigh.. Anyway great video.. Pleasure to get to know your channel.
@08:34 I don't know who edited this hodge-podge of images for this versions of the song but what you're seeing is a combination of two recording sessions from when Zach and Mandi first laid down their voices for the film TANGLED (2010) which might have been in 2009 or even 2008. The production went through a lot of changes. The other images are from the Academy Awards in 2011.
So it's possible that there could be as much as a three year difference, but also very possible that they just came in off the streets sans make-up, to do their first recording, and got all dolled-up for the Oscars.

you should really listen to the swedish version too it's soo good. I grew up with listening to it and it's just amazing. The voices belong to some of swedens most known/talented singers. Rapunzel's voice is Molly Sanden also known for her oscar nominated preformence Husavik form the Eurovision movie and Flynn's voice is Eurovision host and winner Måns Zelmerlöw.

What is Zachary Levi doing? Funny you should ask! 😉 Zach got famous as an actor, did this movie and sang, and did Broadway and sang, but has been wanting to give music a “real go” for a long time. And only a few days on IG, he announced he is doing a concert in Salt Lake City where he is going to sing Big Band-type standards. His voice is beautiful, can’t wait to hear him follow this dream more.

I am not going to beat around the bush with this. I am a singer myself, though I am not a professional singer. I will tell you this much however. I have never liked the idea of a vocal coach... Ever. The simple reason being that a voice should be natural to the singer and not have been compromised by any outside influence.
My opinion however. You do you, I'll do me. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the sound of that girls voice, Though I am almost certain that has been influenced by a vocal coach. Here's my honest opinion. You are a vocal coach. Who taught you, and then who taught them, and them, and them and so forth. Somewhere there was an original voice. No one taught me how to sing. I just did it naturally, because I love music. That is how it should be.
