Came here from Julie and Warren. I get excited seeing new retirees traveling the world. It’s so inspiring to see you all galavant around the world. I’m turning 44 soon and this is the life that me and my husband are looking forward to. We slow travel during off season throughout winter but this is the kind of lifestyle we aspire to have by the time I hit 60 when our daughter turns 18. Looking forward to following you both. We loved our visit to Berat too. Happy travels!
Oh thanks so much for watching, we really appreciate it! We are living the dream and we feel so fortunate. It took some courage to sell it all and do it, but we would not change a thing. It is so exciting to hear that others want to do the same. We are 51 and 53. We leave in a few weeks to go to Montenegro, but we should have a few days in Corfu before we go.
This is our 3rd visit to Albania, and we will be back. We can only stay 90 days out of 180 days without a visa permit. This is a glorious country with the most lovely people as hosts! Albania IS GREAT.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! The bus is quite the experience. On the way back we had all sorts of antics, including someone puking because the driver was going so fast on curvy mountain roads, lol.
Such a cool place! I sorta love that you got lost and had to take the "scenic route". 😊 Just magical, and so OLD. Where are you off to next? Can't wait to see.
@@JayandSarah Montenegro looks amazing too! I don't think you can wrong with anywhere in that general area, at least I haven't seen anywhere that I wouldn't want to go. Another fine video!
@@conniecrew2585 we have been to Kotor before but only for a few days. We'll be there 6 weeks so we'll see a few things I'm sure. Pretty chill tho, we are retired not trying to cover everything for RUclips like we are a travel business. Just have fun, and record some everyday life stuff, Thanks for watching Connie!
@@conniecrew2585 I'd like the income but it's not required. It would be a bit of money back to help replace gear and maybe get some better equipment and such.
Arançata is an Albanian local traditional drink. Kasata is even better than ice cream. Berat and Gjirokastër are amazing Albanian cities with a great architecture and old history. They are both part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Berat is called the city of one over one windows 🪟 because of the position of the houses. Like many cities in Albania, Berat comprises an old fortified city filled with churches and mosques painted with grandiose wealth of visible murals and frescos. Berat is one of the main cultural centres of the country. It is the birthplace of former Albanian communist leader Enver Hoxha, and author Ismail Kadare (the best 🇦🇱 author known internationally). Albania is an incredibly beautiful country with about 3/4 of its territories covered by mountains and hills; the remainder consists of coastal and alluvial lowlands. ❤ The food is great and the people are kind.
kasata is one of the best ice cream deserts in albania the best one is pasta akulli or parfait as they call it now. it is only good if it is done right by a knowledgeable cook
@@vordan7111 always negativity in the comments. Everyone knows what’s going on under the surface in Albania. Does not affect visitors. Thanks for watching , people should still come, very safe place to be. Try our America and drug dealers and see how that goes.
Great fun traveling with you two!!
Thanks!!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Fantastic. We loved Berat, it’s such a cool place with so much history behind it!
You guys have great Albanian too 👍
We adore Albania!

Berat is an Illyrian city, dated at least 5century bc. It’s the only city in Europe inhabited continuously, inside and outside the Castle.
Thank you!
