- Las Vegas Raiders fans have mixed emotions after Day 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft. Channel 13's Alex Eschelman talked to members of the Black Hole who said they're shocked but that Brock Bowers is a solid addition to the team.
We got a sure thing talent. A lot of QBs will be a bust. Thats a fact
I guess some of y'all would be happier with the Raiders drafting a Round 3 TE in the first round like the old days. BROCK BOWERS IS A DAWG and you don't understand football if you do not understand he's the greatest TE ever in college. ALSO the Raiders will be running a 12 package with TWO TE's to control the run game and open it up with both Mayer and Bowers' pass capability.
Guys Brock Bowers just happens to play tight end so stop with the, "oh but we already have a tight end" well what we didn't have was absolute WEAPON over the middle. He will bring so much versatility to our offense for years to come. A total steal at 13. Now lets address CB and OT the second and third round and then take travis or rattler in the fourth.
He’s gonna be in a slot Michael is going to be on the other line matchup nightmare for defenses
None of the QBs they truly wanted were available at #13 and TT was not going to mortgage the future to trade up. So they took the BPA. Simple.

Mixed emotions is silly, A+ draft grade, it's amazing that he fell into our lap. He was the best offensive player on a national champion team at 18 YEARS OLD and followed that up with a season as the best offensive player on a national champion team at 19 😂 he's a frickin football savant. @@the1minsoldier719 they're completely different players and they'll both start. Seriously, don't worry about that at all. Mayer will be lined up on the line in the traditional TE position and Bowers will be in the slot off ball, where he was a lot in college

You got a oversized SR with elite speed and can block like a TE. LV needed a SR and you got him.

He's a great talent only problem i see is we aren't going anywhere with the QB we have. I think the offensive line needs to be addressed first. I don't see this team being any better than last season.
How if AP went 4-2 in the Division with Rookie Aiden without full training with starters and with Mcdumbass being gone Aiden did great job also Luke Getsy is west coast system Aiden came from west coast system in Purdue beating top teams in collage also our defense got way better we can win 11 to 12 games Luke Getsy runs 2 set TE great pick you got Michael Mayer with Brock bower that’s a Duo threat Red zone both can block as well
@raiders6498 a rookie wasn't going to be better than AOC or Minshew. Build the team up so we are just a QB away from winning it
Agree with ya, O'Connell and Minchew are not our answer at QB. Getting another TE didn't make any sense. 4.5 speed isn't elite, 4.1 4 2 is elite. Shot Barry Ran a 4.3, 4.5 might be elite for a TE but not for Recievers.

Agreed. Brock is a generational talent that can be used in the slot, jet sweeps, and so on. They simply didnt have the ammo to move up to pick the QB. Baller Brockin!
As a Raiders fan, I was shocked. Not hating but didn’t think about having Bowers on this offense. I love it. This is the best player available to us at 13. I understand “needs” but “needs” are for teams that have a playoff roster trying to get the final pieces for championship. We have to keep on adding talent. This was the best offense and overall player available at 13. It is such a luxury item to have and I think this makes it so much easier for Aidan or Minshew next year. They go into a system with Tucker, Adams, Mayer, and Bowers. This could be amazing

No QB was worth it at 13. Penix even would have been too early. Atlanta has a QB so can take a risk at 8 on Penix. We cant afford to. Double and even triple TE formations. Heavy run game with White and Addison. Its not Mayer or Bowers. Both will be used and Harrison Bryant or Gentry will see snaps too.

There is nothing wrong with having the option to having a two TE set it also helps QBs who Ain’t as good TE is a safe throw usually

Wasted pick but glad he didn't land with KC! An A- player on a B need. Disappointed we didn't fill a major need with OT Taliese Fuaga since the O-line is mediocre at best with short re-signed contracts and not so great individual player rankings.

Horrible pick, number 1 corner on the board, Fauga on the board. Qb's went fast but picking a TE made no sense. O'Connell couldn't even get Renfrow the ball, now they got a bigger slower target. Ok

A matchup nightmare, sure the Raiders need a QB but Bowers can be just as good as Kelce, and Kelce was in the league 5 years before Mahomes came on board so NO it was not an awful pick whatsoever. Gronk was considered top notch as well and do we really need to go there? Bowers grades just as well as both those players and can be elite without having to carry the workload, hes just a great option for ANY QB. Raiders couldnt get the top receivers and didnt settle for the 7th QB so they went and got the best weapon that should've gone sooner on offense. This is no project pickup.
