Unbelievably Long Monster Road Train at a river crossing in remote Australia

- Try counting the wheels! This is the longest truck - or, rather, two trucks joined together for a river crossing - I've ever seen in my life. Crossing the Blyth river in West Arnhem Land, NT.
Credits and thanks for a lovely song to @TheAlabamaBand
We Aussies don't call a truck by the number of wheels/tyres. We go by its axle configuration.
A bit like using a tonnage rating instead of stupid big number in pounds.
2 triple roadtrains together, nothing special
You wouldn’t get much work done with an 18 wheeler in our country, real toys for the big boys here 👍.
Bet the driver can't do a three point turn.
Don't forget about the spare tires!
Everyone does :-)
Thats been 2 trucks connected. Good idea.
18 wheels is for suburban supermarket deliveries. Ost farm trucks start with22. 72 on an Adelaide to Roxby Downs B double plus semi with tripple axleson everything behind the steer axle.😊
Three trailers each , the norm for a freight or livestock roadtrain , some of ones hauling from the mines are pulling up to ten trailers .😊
2 Mack tractor units, 6 trailers. 3 trailers for each tractor, connected, by a bar to push first truck up riverbank.
their prime movers , tractors pull ploughs
Straight to the reservations for housing and destruction 😂

I've seen bigger than that one. 2 Western Star prime movers pulling 200 metres of empty coal and full diesel tankers.
I'm sure there are longer trains. But on an unsealed road in remote bush location, that's a rare encounter.
Klasse Maenner die den Kontinent am laufen halten und klasse Musik, unbelivebol.
Would rather of listened to those engines work than that song😡
Sorry mate - we listen to them all the time here, so thought I'd play with it a bit for a change.
But hell they WERE roaring!
Totally agree. Was only a dirge about a small yank truck, and it sounded awful.
Your a movie star now Bainy ,that river has caught me out a few times lol
super singles caught a few out :)
And it said ALL the wheels in the video - the troopy also had wheels, as well as the vehicle on the truck :-)
Not unusual action when crossing a river, one lead truck, pulling a second which would act as a "push element", to get all trailers across. It would also overcome the first truck crossing, becoming stuck, which would require a similar sized vehicle and/or a front end loader coming to pull it out, thus blocking the second from a crossing (if the the local village is a distance away could take time) - if you look at the bush either side of the crossing point (from which they started), would negate the action of trying to go around the stuck truck.
Just as well it was not "the wet season".
All true.
Can't access this road during the wet: the Blyth's way too deep
I was thinking why not just run two separate rigs, you answered my question. Thank you.
118 not counting spares, the middle trailer on the Front rig was on super singles.
@@Condowie-Bloke that was my count for the truck too, but people are saying a double wheel still counts as one wheel.
Also, there's a vehicle at the start of the video and one in the truck's load, haha
missed that
@@tzitzitlini in that case those big American 18 wheelers, are only 10 wheelers!
62 on each road train!
and there are some other wheels there apart from the train :-)
organised operators and not stuck in the crossing
Моя походочка! Медведь-моряк... :)
Don't need the music,
Worse if it's American, glad for my volume control
Bet those houses won’t last a year!
1 Stiff Bar.
124 wheels between both rigs. Not that hard
18 wheeler? There’s twenty on each trailer!
@@axelknutt5065 that was the whole point 😋
@@tzitzitlini I can't believe the comments from these grouchs, I enjoyed the footage
@@kilburn1313 thank you 😀
Each semi is pulling 3 trailers. There actually are _much_ longer road trains in Australia! Nice video and song nevertheless. 😎🇦🇺
Of course there must be :-) but that's the longest I've seen with my own eyes :-) and the location was spectacular
Thank you
@@tzitzitlini Agree, looks great. 👍
They are joined with a bar get your eyes checked
134 including the landy.
It's got a spare too at the back - did you count that? :-)
Only 3 trailers. Not that great, good but not great.
@@jamest4424 for these roads, that's way too much as it is: graders are working like crazy.
Не просто впечатляет, а ВПЕЧАТЛЯЕТ... Машинка, что проскочила первой - твоя?
Нет, мою снимать было некому, я переехала первой - женщину пропустили вперед :-)
124 tires to check
Херасе какая штука 😮
Не то слово. Я ее минуту объезжала :-)
62 tyres. A trailer and dolly is 20 tyres. So 3 x trailers and 2 dollies is 52 plus 8 on the drives and 2 on the steers. Not f..ken hard.
@@davidnation7316 it says in the video, not on the truck 🙃
super singles on a trailer or two , count again :)
124 wheels
2024 Australia. !!!!!!!! R
What was unbelievable?
😊😊❤❤❤😮😮😮
Only triples
not extraordinary on bitumen, but rare on this kind of road
Bigger challenge - reverse it

Hi, Folks.
Sorry ter dissappoint yuz all but there are ONLY 62 - yep, that'z right, SIXTY TWO - road wheels on those two trucks. Yes, many of them, in fact all but four of them, are DUAL-TIRED WHEELS but they still only count as ONE wheel, NOT two, here in DowNunda.
Now ifn yer wuz counting TIRES, that a whole nuther story but we wuz only asked to count WHEELS.
Please check you American ideas at the door.
Just my 0.02.
You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Mate, you wrote TYRES in American not Stralian.
We don't spell it TIRE DowNunda.
Bullshit….124 wheels on the road in the 2 trucks.
Hi,@@steely1neverwane.Yep, comes from spending 4 years over there with'em. And I forgot that some of the trailers also have single-TYRED wheels.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Hi,@@erkful.
NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yer in 'Orztaylya' now so count 'em the way WE would - dual- or singled-tyred STILL only counts as ONE wheel.
We yain't infatuated with having more and bigger numbers like some people I know.
If you have TRIPLE tyres on the drive wheels ovva farm tractor and single tyres on the front, does it suddenly 'become' an '8-wheeler' tractor instead ovva 4-wheeler???????
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful delusion. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
@@dplant8961 rofl I’ve been driving these for 45 year in the bush mate…I got a bit of an idea.
What a dumb annoying song., Im a western Australian truckie. There is nothing to see here but just a stardard day at work ? They were only carring light foam walls. Seriously who cares i see a thousand tripples a day and a drive one. Who cares.
Someone out there who loves trucks, maybe a kid maybe someone spending their life in a wheelchair.
What isn't cared for is your I'm too good to watch this so I can't scroll by without adding narcissism attitude.
I bet you're a real pleasure when you get home to your family.
Thank you - it was an exciting thing for me to see as I don't deal with trucks every day of my life :-) and especially in a setting like this. And, by the way, the truckie in the movie loved it - he tracked me down.
Some people just can't look at things from a different angle.
thats right brother the yanks love to blow wind up their own arses, three trailers in regional WA NT and QLD is pretty standard stuff, and yeah you are right that song is like fingernails down a chalkboard
Calm down, and make sure you take your medication, obviously you missed a day or two..
@@robertteap8052 and when God was handing out brains you thought he said trains and said no thanks I will get the next one
Of all the songs..
?… it’s 2triples with a stiff bar between them so what’s the big deal ?…
124 wheels
Someone explained here that doubles are still one wheel with two tyres.
My count: 64 truck wheels + 4 wheels of the 4WD + 4 wheels of the vehicle on the trailer. + 4WD spare and hard to say how many spares on the road train 😊
@@tzitzitlini yeah, nah! Two wheels & two tyres - 4 wheels per axle (except the steers)
