  • Try counting the wheels! This is the longest truck - or, rather, two trucks joined together for a river crossing - I've ever seen in my life. Crossing the Blyth river in West Arnhem Land, NT.
Credits and thanks for a lovely song to @TheAlabamaBand

We Aussies don't call a truck by the number of wheels/tyres. We go by its axle configuration.
A bit like using a tonnage rating instead of stupid big number in pounds.

Not unusual action when crossing a river, one lead truck, pulling a second which would act as a "push element", to get all trailers across. It would also overcome the first truck crossing, becoming stuck, which would require a similar sized vehicle and/or a front end loader coming to pull it out, thus blocking the second from a crossing (if the the local village is a distance away could take time) - if you look at the bush either side of the crossing point (from which they started), would negate the action of trying to go around the stuck truck.
Just as well it was not "the wet season".

If you have TRIPLE tyres on the drive wheels ovva farm tractor and single tyres on the front, does it suddenly 'become' an '8-wheeler' tractor instead ovva 4-wheeler???????
