In method acting actor uses a lot of imagination and emotional memory to encourage sincere acting and to get in to character. Emotional memory is misunderstood many people think you'll have to think about your dog cat or someone close passing away but that's not it . Many actors method act like Daniel Day Lewis and Robert de niro.

On contrary to spontaneous acting, the stanislaviski system (if read in orignal and interpreted by Russian drama teachers) is an extremely comprehensive and build-break kind of method. It is highly conditional however. If you perform the method on a disturbing character like a rapist for example, some elements that are completely against your value system, moral, way of life, it can turn out to be mentally disturbing for the actor. As Nawaz himself has mentioned, even an influential character like Manto, was very difficult for him to come out of.

In current stage what ever an actor does to get into the character and tap the emotion of that character , you could say those as method acting.if you are talking about stanisslavki method acting process , then there is no guarantee by following his method one could find the character....getting into the character is very personal thing solely depended on actor ...
