- I have been applying for jobs in wildlife biology on and off since 2012. While I knew jobs in academia were competitive, I didn’t realize until after I finished school, how competitive careers in wildlife biology were too. Don't make the same mistakes I did, research the jobs you want now!

Awesome video! I’m a senior in high school and just figuring out what I want to do in life, but your video definitely gives me a sense of how competitive things can be and highlights other things I wouldn’t have thought of initially. Thanks for sharing! ❤
You're welcome! It's SO GREAT you are starting early. You have plenty of time to get great experience. I'm doing a free training in August, where I lay out all of the steps you need to become a successful wildlife professional. You can sign up here: stephanieschuttler.com/swpwaitlist/

if i become a wildlife biologist will i be employed for the whole year or be employed only during certain researches?
There are jobs for both. Most entry level jobs will be seasonal though. What kind of biologist do you want to be?
@@FancyScientist i wanna be a wildlife biologist
@@FancyScientist thanks for the info
Ive heard so many people say that getting a job as a wildlife Biologist is extremely competitive. Is it worth going to school as a wildlife Biologist and spending all the money in classes ??? I wanna become a wildlife Biologist but im so worried that i wont be able to even find work after school.
It is definitely competitive, but most people give up/struggle/don't make it because they don't know how to get a job - this is exactly what I do. School will teach you the concepts: ecology, conservation biology, etc, but it won't teach you how to become competitive for jobs. You do need a degree, but it doesn't have to be an expensive one. The first step is to really understand what it is you want to do. I created this free training to teach anyone how to do this and why it is so important. I suggest you start here and then reach out to me afterward about what you think! You can do it with the right strategy!! stephanie@fancyscientist.com stephanieschuttler.com/identifyyourwildlifedreamjob/
It looks like the job tracker has been deleted, could you put the categories in your email to download the tracker instead?
Hi Katherine - it's there. It's in the box "Get You the Wildlife Biology Career You Want!". Fill out your name and email and you will get the link.
It's on this page - to make sure you have the right one: stephanieschuttler.com/job-tracker/
@@FancyScientist Awesome! Thank you so much, I also found more information here: stephanieschuttler.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/JobTracker_FancyScientist.pdf
is this a sustainable job for a solid income?
Yes, but you will very likely have to work several short-term temporary jobs before you get a permanent position. I am not sure what you mean by solid income - in general we are paid less than other fields. Here are a couple of videos I did on on money: ruclips.net/video/UyqoFAGOL5Y/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/qHJChcmW9fs/видео.html.
Hlo can u help me?
Is ecologist a good job?
