Just a correction: When the fisherman was asking for her name he was not disappointed because she wasn't able to give it to him. In Spanish, what he was saying is: "she is still weak...", demonstrating that he understands why she is unresponsive.

The part where they talk about the man being disappointed is not a translation. He says that she still gaining strength which could also be interpreted as she is still weak. He says this and can also be disappointed that he got a non-responsive answer without specifically saying those words.

@@catman8670 I’d say depends on where you’re at in the world. In US, most times people would hesitate in helping or getting involved in situations like this because they could become liable if situation worsen by their action. But I’m from SEA, it’s normal to lend a helping hand in every situation because we look out for one another.
What do we should expect ? To leave her or not feel her torture ?!!! I'm sad that nowdays the hate we got used to everywhere became the "normal" thing, so when we see pure emotions we are surprised.😔
Helping someone in such a dire situation isn't something to be suprised at, its common sense.
My late aunt was in a toxic marriage until she took her own life in 2002. Her kids knew nothing about her sufferings as their mother never displayed any signs of depression. Trust me; emotional and mental abuse do exist.

Yes, it does!!! I actually wrote my entire story out in the comments and walked away from my iPad for 5 minutes and when I came back and went to finish typing the end of my story the RUclips app refreshed and my entire story was erased as if I never typed the first word.... I was so upset that happened... I spent a good 15 minutes typing my story out and was nearly done.. Total bull shit!

I grew up in a narcisstic, controlling, emotionally abusive, and physically abusive house hold. The truth that people who are on the outside don't like to accept - these monsters don't do this to everyone in their lives. They don't do it to everyone in their control. They don't. But they make the lives of those they choose to torment a living hell.
I understand you because my father had a thing to hurt me bad fiscally, emotionally, mentally. He drank a lot. He loved me so much but still did that. I don't understand. I'm now 50. I hope all is well with you. I still carry a lot of scar's. I know you do too and I'm sorry. God bless you.

Sucks that had gone through all that too. I agree, these angry abusive people seem to somehow pull off a totally different personality, one they dont show to the general population, but behind closed doors, its a different story.

She was in an abusive marriage, which left her socially isolated. She left her husband and children, lived on the streets for half a year and then in a women's shelter for 1.5 years where she was bullied. She was kicked out of the women's shelter because her husband had left the city and it was supposedly safe to go home. She then tried to commit suicide by walking into the ocean.
Crazy to think she got bullied at the shelter where they should look out eachother.

@@animebro14 I stayed in a homeless shelter, here in the U.S. for a year, because of my drug addiction. It's like a whole different crazy world! There's drug addicts, mentally handicapped, and older people who have no other means. It can get very dangerous especially with all of the drug dealing. There was this guy that stabbed another dude, in the stomach, while working in the kitchen. The reason he stabbed him, was because he owed that guy 20 bucks. They were people OD'ing, dying and fighting everyday. The place was such a toxic cesspool of nastiness. It's a shame though, that some of the mentally handicapped have nowhere to go, because they are the ones that mostly get bullied and stolen from. Yes, it's definitely a sad state of affairs. I've been clean now for 2 years, and live in sober living. God Bless!♥🙏♥

ereoleon ~ When my brothers wife left him, his children were very angry with her. They had nothing to do with her for many years. I tried during those years to tell them that even though my brother had not beaten their mother, he had not cheated on her and she wanted for nothing...the relationship between a husband and wife is totally different from a parent and a child. None of us, including her, knew at the time, but she was Bi-Polar and suffered horribly from it. The children eventually realize-bonded with her, however, as close as she and I were, more sisters than in-laws, she has since cut me out of her life totally. She does occasionally speak to another one if my brothers. I really miss her 😓

With no mention of the children's father reporting his wife missing I would have to suspect Angelica is telling the truth.

I think, it may have been a combination.
The truth is that she admited it was an attempt at ending her life, by walking in to the sea and letting it carry her away, until she died. At the very least she was depressed.
Anjelica, may have suffered abuse by her Husband and his family because of a mental illness too...not uncommon... the Husband was arrested and jailed for domestic violence, more than once, that's definitely an issue as well...however, anjelica and the womans shelter were in contact with the police and able to tell them that Anjelica was not missing but did not want to go home or be found by her Husband. The police were able to notify her that her Husband had moved out of the house and area. That would be why the missing persons case was not launched. The womans shelter is the weird link...she said the other women bullied her and turned of the water during her showers and put soap in her drinks? Its possible that a few did not like her? ...usually victims of domestic violence are not going to bully others at a shelter. Womans shelters don't allow that kind of behavior towards other victims, especially, if they all are in counseling and getting help through the shelter... so, mental health is in question the soap my have been medication she took for her heart or mental illness that the shelter gave her... jts not uncommon for the mentally ill to think someone is poisoning the food, drinks or playing tricks on them either...so, it's probably a combination of of both family and mental health.

I'm honestly so thankful that she was found by these two. There are way too many people who are capable of taking awful advantage of someone at their lowest or most vulnerable. It's such a relief that the people who found her seem so kind and caring
As a Latina and a survivor of domestic abuse, mothers protect their children from the dark truths that take place behind closed doors. Which is a pricey mistake . It leaves us to be the “crazy ones” and the “ bad ones!” It’s best for you to make sure the truth is brought to light for all to see!

My heart breaks for her, the way she just breaks down crying when she realises she's been saved. She probably spent those few hours leading up to this believing that she may die floating out at sea, alone, scared and never to be found. The relief she must have felt, I can't imagine.

It’s also normal for the abuser to say to their own kid’s “ she’s crazy” while mentally, verbally, and physically abusing her. If she had a heart and mental situation all she needed was help that more than likely wasn’t provided to her. In those countries the Police turn blind eye and the system is not built to shelter these women and her families.Many times they end up dying.

@@rashmidhyani yup! We own it and boss everybody around. (Apparently 1 male put her in the sea and 2 males or more pulled her out. Then more males cleaned her up and started investigating what happened to her. Drama doesn't help anybody and usually, dramatic people don't either.....the world is still more people stuck under the artificial than it is adapted artificials. People remain about the same as they always have been)

The husband didn't come forth to say she disappeared or make a plea for her safe return. Her story could be true. Some mothers will go through hell for their children. And discrediting their victims are exactly what they do, to keep ppl believing that everything is ok. Its like anyone who needs mental help and tend to think they don't need it. Abusers need help too. But its hard to get them to where they will accept it. Few abusers want anyone else to know. Their goal is to hide it, if they can. Children do sometimes know, but out of fear, they keep quiet and grow up fearing that person. But as adults, children who have lived with abuse, often deny it ever happened and force each other at times, to pretend it never happened. Its true. But not always what is behind adult children who deny it happened. You just have to pay attention to detail with adult children who have at least one abusive parent. I've known a few cases of this denial. Grew up in an area where abuse was pretty much the normal in many homes.

Just because her "children" did not witness anything their father may or may not have done to her does not mean it didn't happen.
It’s unlikely her children lived in an abusive home and were completely unaware of it! Kids are typically pretty tuned in that sort of thing! It should not be difficult to verify her story! The story claims she had him arrested multiple times for abuse! Do these records exist? It’s certainly possible that she is telling the truth however it’s also possible that she was abused! She obviously suffers with mental health issues. Why did the women’s clinic really throw her out? Either way, it’s all speculation from everyone except the people involved. Her husband could be completely innocent and she simply never recovered from postpartum depression or he could be an abusive asshole. Or maybe both are true!
I grew up in an abusive home. We are coached on lying to authorities about the abuse as kids.

It’s always strange when every time somewhat tries to dispute domestic violence they combat it with “mental Health”.
Because mental health issues are known to sometimes lead to empty allegations of abuse. Relatives of the affected people suffer from that.
Deteriorated mental health is caused by abusers. After the abused is diagnosed, the abuser claims it is what is causing him/her much grief and gains a LOT of sympathy from others regarding what "they have to put up with"🙄💔 REALLY 🤢
I'm glad to see so many comments supporting Angelica and the abuse she suffered. It is often 1 person who gets the brunt of it in a narcissistic, abusive relationship. AND, the abuser spends quality time making sure to invalidate and gaslight the victim to other family members. He had 2 years to write his own narrative on the quote real situation of why she left. I really hope that her daughters are there for her not just monetarily or physically but I mean emotionally there for her. God bless you Angelica! This happened to me. We are broken up now, but our daughter is still so young. He spoils her rotten. Still is happening to some degree, not the abuse, but my daughter adores him, of course, and really isn't too fond of me. 😢 It hurts so much.

My first thought after watching this was when when I was the victim of such things, my children remember things very differently. Mine had no idea of how terrible things really were. I started reading comments and realized that my story is much like everyone else's. It validates our story. We know what we lived through. It was good to hear that I wasn't alone, that our spouses knew how to torture us while giving the impression to others that WE have "mental health" problems and aren't our families just so grateful to our spouses for having to "deal with our hysteria!" I hope and pray that she finds a way to live and will not have to go back to what she had. God may have wanted her to survive so she can help others who are going through the same thing. I can tell you there is life after leaving. To all of us who have lived through this or are living through it, God Bless you and give you strength, wisdom and peace.

I agree...they are really super good at manipulating others into thinking that they are the poor victims, while meanwhile THEY are the reason for your deteriorated mental state. Their aim is to isolate you utterly and completely in order to continue the abuse. It is really HARD to break free.
She's not lying. Abuse is easy to hide. The look on her face speaks a thousand words. It's an all to familiar reflection. My heart and prayers go out to her. I hope she's safe.

This seems to be the mantra in 2020- accuse and label people with no proof. It's just like "she's a witch" no proof needed, just guilty... It is a person with problems and the world is often cruel to them, for fun, and laughs that it makes them die.
The daughters probably do know what happened and dad likely manipulated them to say and feel as they do. I have been there. My daughter told me I deserved to be hurt by her dad and if I ever called police on him she would deny it all. I literally ran away at one point too.
In an abusive marriage, the children will eventually join the abuser. It will be up to this lady to decide to go back to her abuser and abusive daughters. It is also interesting that in the shelter abused women also become abusers. Pretty much a vicious cycle. She will also need additional help to restore her self esteem so that she can decide with all confidence to stay away from that abusive family.

I've been in her situation. Abusers are truly evil.
I believe her. I’ve been in her position. I felt truly truly gas lighted by it and by that my attempts have not ended. Im finally an adult and I stopped because I was able to find someone who believed me and cared for me when I truly thought I was alone in this evil world. It truly feels like you’re being swallowed up. I would’ve taken freezing to death than going through what I did that lasted years. I still have scars from my failed attempts and traumas from it. If anyone is suffering please seek help. For me it was my best friend. The person I openly cried to and told my full story to. The one who did nothing but show me love and kindness. There’s good people out there.

I agree. I think they should investigate every place she says she’s visited and talk to her acquaintances or friends because it seems like she’s telling them this story.
If the story doesn’t match up, then she is lying. If it does match up, she’s not. she specifically told people that she talked to people about her story too, it means she’s confident she’s right.
I hope Angelica will find peace and find happiness that she deserves, and find that special someone it will be very hard to trust people friends but in time u will. I understand all about abuse . Hartleyb83.... yes I agree... from personal experience.. my ex husband was a hateful man when it came to me, he didn’t start hitting me until after our 1st child was born and we was already married.. there wasn’t any “red flags” before that.. there was many nights I truly thought I was going to die.. but he never did any of these things in front of our children.. he wld make sure the kids wasn’t even in the house.. all while he was a great dad in all other regards.. very attentive, provided, very loving and very active in their lives..

When she first starts crying, almost as if it’s a cry of joy, praying to be found, only to have this answered. Almost got the feeling her faith was restored
My sister lived for years under the extreme abuse of her pos, coward husband. Her children always believed their father over their mother even when her screams and his shouting could be heard. Finally, immediately following my release from the hospital after giving birth to my child, she reached out to me for help. I had tried to help her so many times before, to no avail, because she didn’t want to leave her three children. I had always advised her to stand up to him and his bullying, because all bullies are cowards. I told her that when he hit her, she should hit him right back, or wake him up in the middle of the night with a frying pan being slammed into his nuts. She did nothing, not even report him to the police where she was friends with the police chief.
I grabbed a baseball bat, left my house without telling anyone, and drove over to her home. I walked in and there he was sitting on the couch in the family room drinking beer at 11am, and my sister could be heard hysterical upstairs. The kids were all away for the weekend at their aunt’s house. So, I went up to him and told him he had two choices...1) he could grab his truck keys and leave the home immediately, or 2), I would swing for the fences with his skull.
Mr. Tough Guy ran out of there like the giant pussy that he was, and exactly as I expected. My sister had a bruise on her back that was so deep that it showed a complete man’s foot, that’s how hard he stomped on her. Her lip was slashed open and bleeding profusely. Her wrist and hand were broken. Ironically, the ER doctor had to cut her wedding band off of her hand due to the extreme swelling. I then drove her to the police station where we sat down with the chief and filed charges. A warrant was issued for his arrest and she was granted an emergency order of protection.

I find survival type stories to be the most horrifying. Stranded, lost, shipwrecked, stuck in a horrible relationship, being homeless, etc....it’s terrifying! Not only do you have to survive the environment and harsh elements: rain, snow, heat....you have to fight off starvation and your own mind, as it slowly starts to deteriorate. 😨

My dad hit my mom for ten years. But my dad is an excellent father. I remember when i was a kid, my dad is telling us that my mom is crazy and a bad person. When we grew up thats when i and my sibling realize my dad is an abusing husband. Im glad my mom left him when i was eight. His old and alone now. And we rarely talk to him

The same situation happened to my friend, except that the mom is the abuser and continuously brainwash her n her siblings. Everyone around them know the truth but they continuously deny it. Sadly the father already died but his children still believe their dad was mental, not the mom :(
Some parents suffer from love jelousy. They cannot bare that a son/daughter will devide their love towards the other half. So they abuse and get violent with the other parent wile pempering the kids.
I love the compassion the fisherman showed her... holding her and telling her “there there” and reassuring her that everything was going to be okay ❤️❤️❤️ and how amazing is it that she was found only 8 hours after she eased out into the ocean! She very well could have floated off in another direction, or the fisherman left at a different time, or like they said- they could have fixed their issues with the engine and went out the day before missing her completely .... the possibilities are endless but by the grace of god she was saved
i am very happy that this woman had another chance and the possibility to make us know her story, it makes me think of the countless lives that get lost in time without leaving even a sign of their stories, it's just sad

Gives me comfort to see men say lovely things about their wife and kids. I won't go deep into my story but I also did a 21 year stint in an abusive relationship, where I had to phone the police "31 times" (he seemed to have been counting somehow but it was probably accurate). The police finally told him he wasn't allowed to come back in the house so that has been such a blessing.
To read comments from men that show concern and love makes me remember that it isn't fair to ever label all men the same. I still don't believe anyone can love me like that because I could never work out why I deserved the aggression, but I am so happy that other women are truly loved. It's a wonderful thing. 🥰

I love my people. This was in Puerto colombia, Colombia, a beach town about 20 minutes away from the major city of Barranquilla. Thank you for showing another side of Colombians.

It sounded to me like she didn't want an ambulance called. So eventually the "homeboy ambulance service" (the fishermen) took her to the hospital. I'm not sure how it is where this lady was found, but in the USA it's very common for someone to not want the ambulance called because it's life-ruining expensive. They'll have friends take them, take an Uber, take a cab or the bus etc.
In my friends country there's a law in the process which will let the ambulance and hospitals choose, who they will be helping. Before that there was a guarantee for everyone to get medical help - that's what they were paying taxes for after all.

One Christmas, my ex and I were driving to see "Les Miserables" with his family. Most of the drive, my ex was beating me with one hand and driving with the other. I was so scared and exhausted and felt like anything was better than this, I opened the car door and tried to jump out in the middle of the freeway. I didn't care anymore, I just couldn't take it.
My ex stopped me by grabbing me by the hair and slamming my head into the dashboard, then pinned me down by the head on the seat (it was a truck with a bench seat) while screaming at me and calling me every name in the book. I basically just fell asleep during the movie (in retrospect I probably had a mild concussion).
I had to basically fall off the face of the planet to get away from him, and I'm glad I did. Abusers are known for being charming and manipulative, and for using family and friends against their victim by playing on their "good guy" persona while psychologically twisting their partner into knots, thus making her look unstable when in reality she's a victim.

We don’t know what her mental condition was. It could have made her act erratically or in ways that seemed to be harmful or hateful to the other residents.
Both men & women can develop Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It is a good idea to learn to identify it so that you will not been drawn in or taken in by such a person. I recommend the You Tube channel 'Surviving Narcissism'.

It’s okay to not have all the answers but it’s also okay to believe in divine intervention. I’ve stared death in the face 6 times in my life and escaped unscathed physically and mentally. I don’t believe there’s a god intervening but there’s a higher power surrounding individual destinies so if something is not meant to happen to you it won’t. A woman survived a 10,000 foot fall from an airplane and lived to walk and talk again. The will to live has to be combined with destiny. I personally believe in guardian ancestors and guardian supernatural beings. This isn’t the only dimension and everything is connected somehow. There’s things that exist in this very dimension and on this very earth we don’t even know are real just in nature alone that are marvels in science once “discovered.”

I don't know if I feel good or bad about the rescue. She seems to have been suffering so much from mental and physical problems that she just wanted relief from life. The fact she lived through that with a bad heart is pretty miraculous though. I am glad there are good Samaritans still out there willing to help another person. Maybe God kept her alive to share that message with others.

The daughters may not have known anything of the abuse by the fathers hands. The mother may have kept that from her kids, as some women do that just so their children don’t have to endure and witness what they are feeling and going through at those times. This is a truly sad sad story, to have no choice but to take your own life, this poor woman was in a very very dark place to make that decision there and then. I hope she gets the help she needs and The Good Lord shows her the right path to travel so that she may heal and recover from all this trauma.
Plus if she truly had severe heart issues she wouldn't have lived through hypothermia.

I left that country and was homeless for 2 years during which I haven't spoken to her at all and she has no idea where I am. She never will either. Trust me, she had options, but chose to put us in harm's way. My grandmother's boyfriend sexuallly abuse me, too. You did the right thing.

This is so heartbreaking. If the daughters are correct and she has heart problems, I really doubt she would have survived the sea. It's the sea. God knows how long she was in the water. If she just simply walked away simply someone could have noticed her making fists and would have helped her no? Because as far as I know cars are everywhere on the road. So, she'd be in constant fits. This is way too fishy. The authorities now promise to look in conflicting details, how about the statement of the husband first.
