I’m a complete newbie to pianos so I’m sorry in advance if this sounds ridiculous, but… When I listened to you play both of these, you gave me sort of classic music concert vibe with Kawai and then more jazz club kind of vibe with those deeper tones on Roland. And that finaly made me choose my first piano between these two. Roland it is for me. Thank you :)
Although the sound of Kawai sample is more like acoustic piano but the speaker resonance sound is noticable. Roland sounds more artificial but also pleasant and more “natural” for digital sound
I agree that the Kawai sounds somewhat more like a "real" piano, but Roland has more than acceptable piano sound *and* has features the Kawai doesn't have. You guys seem to prefer the Kawai keyboard, but the Roland keyboard gets high marks from many reviewers. As a techie, I appreciate that the Roland has 256 polyphony vs 192 on the Kawai. Roland: 324 tones; Kawai: 15. Roland: has guitar sound; Kawai: no. Roland: progressive damper pedals; Kawai: ½ pedal support. Kawai: 20w speakers; Roland: 12w speakers (OK, Kawai wins this one). Roland: 377 songs; Kawai: 55 songs. Roland: Bluetooth MIDI and audio, Kawai: Bluetooth MIDI only. Both support dual, split, and twin piano. Roland: OLED display; Kawai: none. Roland: audio input, USB B (MIDI), USB A (save recordings to stick), 2 phone jacks; Kawai: USB B (MIDI), 2 phone jacks. Kawai: MSRP $1,799; Roland: MSRP $1,729 (EDIT: I discovered Alamo states MSRP for the Kawai for is $1799 but offers it for $1499!). Is the Roland worth $230 more? This techie thinks so. P.S. Former decent clarinetist, but I've never tackled a piano. Looking forward to getting my hands on the Roland that delivers next week.
so how is the Rp-701 for you so far? I am curious to know. Did you notice that the price of Rp-701 goes up from $1600 as marked by Nov 21? I don't know why they increase the price
@@p4stEllo I’m loving it. Haven’t used the speakers much because I’m teaching myself how to play first using USB MIDI connection and headphones (plugged in - Bluetooth has too much lag) so I don’t disturb others in our household. The few times I’ve used the speakers, they’re more than adequate for our small apartment. Good to know I got it before the price went up.
@@TexanInParis06 yes the speaker I feel like 12Wx2 is kinda small compared to the others at this price range. But it sounds good right? May I know where you bought it if you live in the Us. Thanks
Bettee comparsion its the kawai cn29 vs roland rp701. Same price class. The cn29 has the better soundsystem onkyo speakers, better Keyboards for playing. When you like more real Akustik sound…go with the kawai cn29. When you neeed more sounds and options . About more digital Sound, go with the roland
I heard from a music student that the organ is one of the hardest instruments to play. Please kindly explain how different types of organs work. Thank you
The problem with both is in the lower notes and I think the Roland sounds a bit better there but not by much. The Kawai has much less distinction in the lower end.
In my opinion , the keys of the orland are much better, with a very close relationship between the touch and the sound. Norte that you can completely adjust the sound of the roland piano, with the sound designer app

the song or chords that you used is Minnie Riperton's Lovin you. was that your intention?
The sound of the KDP Piano is much better in my opinion.
love love love the Roland light oak color!
We like sound of kawai 😎
Thank you again for your video. Great stuff.

All about sound .😂 kawai ❤
Forget about marketing things
If you ever edit and repost this video, consider adding graphics showing the setting you're using for each demo piece. Nice work!

No
Thanks for the vid
The Kawai here sounds a lot more natural, much closer to an acoustic IMO.
Roland tiene mas opciones y sonidos, pero kawai suena mucho mejor y mas realista en sonido de piano. Por eso mismo hoy acabo de comprar el kawai

the hammer and strings are placed vertically(standing) so u ave to press the keys harder on organs.

Roland rp701 or kawai cn29?
The KDP 120 is already better than the Roland. The CN 29 completely smokes it
Hi! Interesting comment. In what ways is the Kawaii KDP 120 better?
@@marlajackson1905 In every way.
Interesting!
Se puede comprar con ustedes un k200 atx3 y enviarlo a México. Aquí no lo hay.
Kawai kdp120 or Roland fp30x?
Kawai 😎😎.
No need to ask
@@محمدالخلفي-ط1ل are you saying that because of the brands or the specific models?
Kawai, they make pianos for pianists.
@@samiavanessakafati2446 I ended up getting both and then selling one. You all are right. The Kawai was way better.
@LilDrummergurl48
Kawai kdp 120 compare to yamaha ydp 165. And Superior to roland fp30x. They cannot be compared
Roland has so many sounds and instruments!!!
Roland fake and artificial sound😭...Kawai Natural.
