Believe it or not, ‘Baby Race’ was almost NOT made, until Joe Brumm’s wife asked him to, since the story was one close to her heart as it was based on her beginning experiences as a mother.
the oil and grit thing was a popular boomer method. the idea was if she hates the feeling of oil and grit on her knees she will begin walking to reduce the negative stimuli. what these people fail to realize is that a baby at that age doesnt have the leg muscles yet to begin attempting to walk. forcing babies to reach milestones before they are ready can cause issues like anxiety and depression later in life. heck there is even a link between toilet training and rigidity among other things.
I notice people love different episodes depending on what resonates. This baby race episode makes me cry every time because it felt so true. I felt the same when I had my first baby... and would always go to the docs worried that something wasn't right developmentally. I would recommend "camping " for your next one, or "copy cat"
That must be so sweet. To cry to baby race? All jokes aside, it's such a sweet story. I think I'll be in and out of the doctor with my first one too, quite frankly. The doctor in bluey kept saying you're fine! So real. People are really pushing Onesies hahaha but Camping looks really special to me. Might just do that next thanks for watching :)
This is absolutely true! Like, I don’t often see people talking about Mum School when it comes to the poignant and emotional episodes, but I find it insanely impactful. I have ADHD and most of my friends are neurodivergent- silly as it may be, that episode’s symbolism really resonated with me
I hope this isn't a weird compliment, but I LOVE your voice. also, as for why kids like hearing about how they were as babies... i think in general it can be fun to learn about your past when it comes to things you can't remember. if its positive memories anyway. ESPECIALLY if it's funny. A couple years ago, i had my mom film me after my wisdom teeth removal because I was curious about how my barely-memorable, potentially hilarious moments would be. There's just something special about learning things about yourself you never knew, I guess. If that makes sense.
Happy to have found you ❤ The episode that truly hit me is called "Born Yesterday". It means so much to me to be grateful for every little thing in life and I really feel that episode helps express that ❤️
Eps I recommend (If you haven't watched already, these are just some of my favorites other than the ones you've watched. Sorry if it's long): - The Creek - Camping - Teasing - Rug Island - Army - Double Babysitter - Grandad - Promises - Omelette - Mini Bluey - Curry Quest - Rain - Musical Statues - Stories - Onesies - Space - Relax - Stickbird - Dragon -Cricket - The Sign
This episode almost got scrapped. In the Bluey universe, babies are supposed to start very similar to real life puppies, and then learn to become more human-like as they age up. However, the message and presentation of Baby Race was so important to Joe Brumm's wife that they decided to keep the episode, even if it went against the already established aging process
Equanimity’s kind of sounds like they are saying aqua like water which is probably intentional or I’m just crazy. - also the ending when bingo says “maybe you just saw something you wanted” broke me.
lmaoo amazing bit at the end
hey thank you!!

My daughter did the rolling and the backwards crawling before she could crawl forward! No bum shuffling though...

they fail to realize so much in doing that!! i can't believe oil and grit was only a couple generations ago. sounds older to me but it isn't!!!
I always fucking cry at the last bit.
i do not fucking blame you 💙
