It's not 'the Ukraine', it's just Ukraine. That aside, the gasoline thing is Russia using Europe's need of gasoline to try and blackmail European countries to stay out of it. So 'dance on gasoline' is pretty much saying 'fuck Russia's oil and gas'

First off: Ukraine translated is “borderlands”, or the exact translation as “near borders” since the “U” in the name means “near”, and “kraine” is based off of the word similar to it, which is“kraia” which means “border”. Second off: reason why “the” got added was because of the “borderlands” translation. If you were to say “I going to the borderlands”, you wouldn’t leave off the word “the” would you? It’s literally the same case with the Netherlands; because of how both words are plural, they both get the privilege of having the word “the”. And if you disagree, just know that I am Ukrainian, so…
