I want to say that her kids do live with Kevin and he has majority of custody. I would think that spilling any more about him would bring extra negativity into that relationship with her kids.
I actually don't think Britney is dead, because as with Michael Jackson she would generate more money being dead rather than retired from the industry. Although, probably the book was written by somebody else. And definetely, Britney has said up to 1% of truth of what was going on with her.
