Bernardo has given himself the best job in jiu jitsu history. He constantly gets to absorb knowledge from everyone including the best of the best and he makes money in the process. Awesome
Agreed, I wish we could see him competing again now that he learned from all bjj fanatics instructors
He's like the Jujitsu Highlander.
Its very big honor
Huge honour
Hey deserves it, one of the nicest dudes I've ever met.
Don’t skip the conversation at the beginning. Priceless.
agreed but it's 11:35 for when you come back to rewatch the technique
Me going back after skipping the convo
Me watching the conversation for the 5th time!
I love how a 3rd degree black belt can still have so much to learn from a sage like this.
This comment
It makes me feel very insignificant just trying to get to blue belt!
Hes smiling from side to side he really felt that .
You forgot world champion lol
Bernardo was like a kid in a candy store when he realized the principle of what Professor Sauer was showing. Love it!
Professor Pedro It’s absolutely amazing I recently got my black belt from him and Mark Schultz. I’ve never been on the mat and not Been blown away by Professor Pedro. He is 100% technique. The Brazilian jujitsu world is blessed to have him
Congrats on your black belt! -- what an amazing honour to get it from such legends! wow!
God Schultz must b a monster on the mat that’s scary
Mark Schultz? Damn, man.
“I can see it happening, but I don’t understand what I am feeling!”
This is a great moment to begin the path towards invisible jiu jitsu! - TP
I saw this and thought it was pretty sweet but I tried it and showed it to my students at open mat today and it seriously is amazing. The connection you make with his arm and yours over it doesnt look like anything but is super strong, and the leverage you get from your body vs his arm, you cant stop it. Amazing as always, Master Sauer.
I just pulled this off, numerous times, during an open mat today.
Like, it was crazy just how effective it was at consistently allowing me to recover guard from even a brolic af brown belt.
@@donovanb9020 is the arm in danger when it comes to the kimura from there or is this a safe move to pull off every time?
@@DECEPTIONINDICATED
Idk about using it everytime but this move seems to depend on the top guy having the far side underhook + Crossface grip.
As far as the threat of a kimura:
Watch Pedro's head when shifts into position.
He uses it to pin Bernardo's left arm which helps keep him safe from the kimura threat. That "sticky" feeling Bernardo describes is what also helps stifle any positional transitions.
@@donovanb9020 Won't your opponent try to mount you when he notices this?
Yes. I get mounted immediately every time I try this. Unfortunately it just doesn’t work for me.
Wow such a small detail that has a huge effect, true mastery
I am so honored to be a student of Master Pedro. Every time he teaches he shares gold.
Amen! I also hear the same thing about you Mr. Cukro.
-Gracie BayView, PedroSauer affiliate.
I'm so grateful for guys like Master Sauer and Henry Akins that are out there teaching the invisible details of this wonderful art!
So I find all of Bernado's videos are a sales pitch for some instructional, but talking to the masters and listening to their experience is the most precious information. Knowing that Pedro would go to training and get tapped on average 18 times every time, yet he still kept going gives me the confidence to get back on the mat no matter how tough it may be. These insights are amazing for me, as always.
Solid gold BJJ philosophy and a side control technique to boot!
This one and the mount escape segment are foundational.
Thank you!!!!!
That car jack analogy absolutely NAILS the fundamental of Jiu Jitsu!! Wow
I'm 34, after 10 years of just casual training I'm beginning to feel the wear and tear, some of the stuff I used to get away with, with speed, recovery and athleticism is slowly going to disappear. Learning about longevity in this hobby and getting some wisdom from these guys are super important for me now.
I’m similar but flip flop the numbers of your age. You are wise. I can tell you first had recovery is far slower and aches and pains start creeping in far more frequently.
I think what you wrote here is key to jiujitsu. A lot of people wrestle themselves out of pins by sheer strength and athleticism. And by 40 you lose this ability: in comes the intelligence of jiu-jitsu. I don't understand coaches who treat jiujitsu like it is wrestling, which has a completely different approach. Hence the name difference.
Cut out all refined sugar, get 8hrs of sleep a night amd get on TRT by 40.
At 34!?! 😂 I’m 54 dude….just you wait…..
@@VoltedSoldierTRT is to replace T that you are lacking. It’s not there to give you more T than you normally have. That is just another word for juicing. And that has potentially very serious consequences. You’re talking about injecting T for decades. There is no free lunch.
Professor Bernardo’s reaction circa 15:44 mark is priceless. When you a black belt at his level get excited over a small detail was so amazing to see!
Pedro Sauer is a legend! Nicest guy you'll meet and endless details on techniques.
I have always known about Pedro Sauer but I have never herd his stories. Amazing person. So much more respect, amazing!
Had the good fortune to attend full day seminar with him. It was insanely fun, exhausting, and educational. The guy is as real as it gets, and is so nice it's insane.
brilliance. even bernardo's mind was blown. impressive.
I love Bernado..... so much enthusiasm and willingness to learn and teach. Fantastic!!!!
Unreal!! Little details make a huge difference!
oh my goodness! it is the BABY BRIDGE!!! Priit Mikhelson was right- this stuff is super powerful. and man- the invisible jiu jitsu is awesome! Pedro Sauer, and Rickson Gracie are amazing smart!
14:40 “ that’s amazing, that’s amazing!” Bernardo’s expression was priceless!
I trained with Pedro a few times back in the 90s. Everything was relaxation, technique and leverage.
Can’t wait to try that escape, such a beautiful detail
Who else would love an instructional series by Pedro on escapes? Also a series by him on life advice would be cool too 😂
Me, a 2 class old white belt: what kind of dark wizardry is this?
Biomechanics.
It's Amazing how such small key details can effect the results.
"Professor Pedro Sauer is the Mozart of jiu jitsu" - Keith Owen
Absolutely true
Agreed. Clean. Precise. Elegant. Just like Mozart's music. I suppose this makes Rickson Beethoven. Younger, more creative, passionate. Danaher is Schubert. More complete pieces. More volume.
Amazing! i'm an older guy but unfortunately quite new at BJJ. I'm blown away by how much i need to learn before even considering these kind of advanced concepts. I just hope my body holds up long enough.
Sweet n' Sauer Jiu Jitsu!! 😁
This is sorcery. Thank you Prof. Sauer and Prof. Faria. Amazing concept!
This is the guy! I had the opportunity to learn from him on 2004 in Brazil. Amazing Jiu Jitsu
@BJJ Fanatics - can't wait to buy this, when do you think it's up? I've checked a few times over the last few days and can't find it...take my money!!
that is one of the best bits of knowlage i've learned in a while.cant wait to try😁.thanks bernardo
I am Crying at the sight of how beautiful, simple, elegant and amazing this move is- it is simple application of the baby bridge. incredible! this what i love about bjj so much!
OMG this video actually made me cry... Bernardo's honest mindblown reaction is exactly what was happening with me. This is what happens when you study human biomechanics for a lifetime... thank you!
That was awesome! I’ve watched a lot of side control videos and never have seen those details.
Love how excited he still gets...he has the enthusiasm of a white belt with bonkers black belt skill
Pedro is my favourite bjj master
True class
Its amazing how high level jiu-jitsu is based in simplicity. This is mind opening!
When I first got my blue belt from Professor Eduardo Muchado in Dubai, I went to a Royler seminar in Rio. I had the privilege to roll with Professor Saur. Some professors said he was overly rough with me but I was honored. Osss
Such a great teacher, both of them actually, oss!
Amazing. Off the mats from active rolling at the moment with a knee injury. Still learning as much as possible. This was gold.
Wow looking forward to using this!
This was great. Stories and the escape.
Elite level instruction. Mind = blown.
Wow this blew my mind! Gonna have to try this at the next class!
I want my Jiu Jitsu tone like that! Thank you!
That was really sneaky & good thank you for the lesson professors
Thankyou Bernardo all your videos have helped me on the mat.
Pedro is awesome. I started in a Pedro affiliate, and took two seminars with him. He's an excellent instructor and a magnanimous person. Highly recommended
Key detail at 13:07, once the knee enters it looks like Master Sauer extends the hips a little to push Bernardos knee back to gain more access.
So subtle. I'm glad you pointed that out 🙏
I'm going to try this out tonight, I like how it creates that space.
Sir great job . Thanks for sharing.
This is amazing...can't wait to try it.
It’s this kind of technique that makes jiu jitsu magical to me. Thanks Bernardo for making this kind of content available for a 3 week white belt like me
Such a subtle little tweak. Sure would have been handy in class last night!
Pedro always teaches great looking stuff. Been a fan for 20yrs though.
Devemos esperar um DVD com este sr no bjj fanatics? Era muito bom.
Amazing! Great video!
what a fantastic episode... thank you very much Bernardo and Mestre Pedro Sauer.
I've seen this . Use it all the time
Excellent.
Absolutely awesome
How often do you see Bernardo geek out! Great video.
That Jack side control escape was sick
As an white belt this was helpful.. going to try tomorrow.. wish me luck 🙏🏾
This is insane! Wow.
Spectacular
Bernardo Faria BJJ Fanatics is the Joe Rogan Experience of the Jiu Jitsu world. Great stuff.
Minute 3:20 is great when he mentions the German family. So many Japanese and Germans fled to Brazil at the end of WW2, and all of their cultures mixed together.
Happy new year. Thanks again professor Sauer. Love your videos professor faria.
Fantastic stuff! Thanks for sharing!
I'd like to hear more about how Jiu-Jitsu can inform your social life. I've noticed I spar like I socialise. When beginning a spar I always go first, I rush and don't wait for the other person to move/speak
That was awesome!!!
Yes this is gold!
Very interesting. The concept is very similar to the technique showed by Paul Schriener on this channel a couple weeks ago.
That's incredible. I'll be trying this one out for sure.
14:47 ... we all smiled :D ... NOW we get it ^^
I love Prof Sauer 🙌🏻
There's genius in simplicity.
Finally!!!!! A real side control escape
Happy New Year Bernardo! Oss!
Legendary.
Gonna try this today
Pensei a mesma coisa que o Bernardo, não vejo a hora tentar usar
Excellent 😊
THE LEGEND!
Amazing 👍
Master Sauer with the goods
So glad this is on video !
Notice how he talks about all the benefits, that's what I love most about BJJ, it's a process, not a race chasing ranks, stripes or colors
Master Sauer is simply the Man :))))
Thank you! I am not clear about what you are doing with your right arm?
magic!
excellent !
Damn. Love this one
Happy new years everyone
This was amazing.
Nice!!
