An Indian man from Madhya Pradesh state had a scaled-down replica of the Taj Mahal built as a symbol of love for his wife. After visiting the original 17th century monument and looking up images online, Anand Prakash Chouksey commissioned artisans and sculptors to recreate the mausoleum about one-third the original size.

Original Taj Mahal was built by a muslim ruler Shah-Jahan for his 7th wife Mumtaz Mahel out of 13 wives, form Jazia(forced Tax money) of the public(Mostly hindus).
Mumtaz mahel had 14 Children. Later after the death of mumtaz, the ruler Shahjahan married his own daughter Jahanara.

260000 USD is a lot of money but it also depends on in which state/city/village the house is built in India. The village I live in, that kind of money is not enough to build a structure like that. In big cities one can purchase a tiny apartment only. Labour wages varies from place to place. It may be affordable in one place but not in another.
Still, its cheap when you have those quality, marble and stuff, in Malaysia you barely get one-third of that size for that price tag
